This incident occured right around the time of the initial recall. In January 2024. I had it repaired at another car repair shop hoping to reimbursed by Ford. The initial recall stated they would have a remedy by June 2024. This then was delayed until 1st quarter 2025. Still no remedy for the recall.

I have had problems with the tcm when I first got the car and now after having to deal with fixing the coolant reservoir my car is shuddering trying to go over 2 rpm. This makes me never want to have a Ford again. This car almost got me killed when the tcm failed and now I feel unsafe driving with the shuddering going on.

I had a head gasket repair that failed almost causing an accident on the interstate. Then I had a new long block engine assembly, turbo charger, catalytic converter replaced due to a crack in cylinder 3. Car had 45,500 miles and never ran without oil. This occurred [XXX]. Warranty did cover this repair. Then at 65,000 miles I had another new long block assembly, turbo charger, and catalytic converter replaced again due to a crack in cylinder 3. Again the car was not run without oil. I did pay for this repair. Kunes Ford service department told me that the same cylinder 3 keeps cracking on the 1L 3 cylinder eco boost engines. Also be advised that they are not listing engine replacements on service repair records. The engine/turbo charger/catalytic converter replacement from July 2024 is not even listed. A case was opened with Ford but I still had to pay $1500 for the repair due to a manufacturer defect in cylinder 3. Ford is not listing any of these repairs correctly on the vehicle service records. The July 2024 repair is not even listed under the service records. Ford also had cases opened up but I do not currently have the case numbers. Kunes Ford has the no fear power train warranty, all service done at Ford and it was not honored for this repair. I’m having a very difficult time with ford dealership there is a lot of information about this 2016 ford focus automatic transmission that has problems with either its dry clutch or the tcm transmission control module. It is revving high when you stop it doesn’t shift gears properly it jerks hard it won’t go into higher gears it will start reversing out of no were that’s a very very terrifying situation especially that me and my fiancé have a little boy in this vehicle. We were so happy to buy this vehicle and ended up having huge problems for only having 100k miles on the odometer. This is are only vehicle spent are taxes on this vehicle to get us around for a few years go on vacations all that. To call ford and be told basically if this vehicle wasn’t involved in the lawsuit against ford about this certain situation then it wouldn’t be included in the recall. I think I should file a lawsuit against ford for this why would they have on the web that every 2016 ford focus has a recall for the tcm transmission control module one time free replacement until June 2025 it says. I want something done this is not right and illegal. Organization at its finest.

Oil pump belt and/or oil pump tensioner failure. Could cause engine and brakes to go out. Diagnosed by mechanic. Not available without extensive inspection. Engine light came on followed by oil light. Ford is only recalling affected vehicles with an automatic transmission. Mine is a manual transmission.
