Some vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit various SYNC performance related concerns including but not limited to: Display operation concerns Navigation inoperative Voice recognition concerns Phone connection issues Dropped phone connections Applink related performance Travel Link not present or showing incorrect traffic Slow system response NOTE: Ford has found some of the APIMs replaced and returned for inspection contained an outdated software level and the APIM did not require replacement. The customer concern may have been resolved by updating the APIM with latest level of software. The SYNC 3 universal thumb drive will be able to update the APIM software without the use of a scan tool and does not require the process to be monitored. Ford will be monitoring APIM replacements to confirm TSB directed software updates have been performed.

This may be due to the starter motor drive gear not retracting after starting. To correct this condition, inspect the starter motor drive gear and shaft. If the starter motor drive gear slides back and forth by hand and/or shows signs of scoring or damage, replace the starter motor following Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-06 Starting System > Removal and Installation > Starter.

Summary2023-2026 F-Super Duty vehicles may be equipped from the factory with a power steering system filled with Motorcraft® MERCON® LV Automatic Transmission Fluid XT-10-QLVC or XL-22 high temperature power steering fluid that looks like clear hydraulic fluid. Both fluids are interchangeable in the power steering system when service is required. Workshop Manual, Section 211-02 > Power Steering > Specifications has been updated to provide the correct power steering fluid usage.

To confirm a vehicle is equipped with a certain software level, review the software information by hovering over the "Diagnostics" tab in Professional Technician System (PTS) and selecting "Vehicle Software". If one of the listed software part numbers is present, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the TRM. For vehicles with any other software part number in the TRM, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 414-01 to continue with normal diagnostics outside of this article. SummarySome 2020-2025 various Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with blind spot information system (BLIS) may experience an inoperative blind spot monitoring with a "Blind Spot System Fault" message displayed in the instrument panel cluster (IPC). This may also be accompanied by diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) B118C:11 and/or B118C:15 stored in the driver door module (DDM), and/or B118D:11 and/or B118D:15 stored in the passenger door module (PDM). This may be due to the wiring connector from the mirror to the BLIS module. If diagnostics lead to an internal mirror wiring harness fault, a new lower level BLIS light pigtail is now released for service. It is not necessary to replace the exterior mirror assembly. Use part number SC3Z-14A411-B to resolve the concern.
