Dashboard glare when sunny. Makes it extremely difficult to look at what is in front of the vehicle. Wearing sunglasses helps but it is still a major safety concern that sunglasses are required every time I drive to just be able to look out the front windshield! Over time there will be many accidents due to the glare reducing visibility.

There is a glare on the windshield from the dash. When it’s daylight, it’s difficult to see the road because the glare from the dash is so bad.

The dashboard glare is extremely dangerous. I can’t see people walking when I’m driving because the glare is so intense because of the dashboard.

On sunny days the reflective glare off of the dashboard is incredibly unsafe. At times you have serious issues seeing through the reflections to actually see what is on the road ahead of you. Polarized sunglasses do help reduce this glare, but not eliminate it. Sunglasses are also not always available to people driving the vehicle for various reasons. It has been confirmed by many independent drivers and GM is also aware if the issue.

There is excessive reflection on the windshield, especially at mid morning and mid afternoon times on sunny day. This reflection is enough that visibility is limited. I have experienced instances where vehicles pulling onto the roadway were hidden from my view by this reflection.

Front Dashboard is made out of very glossy plastic and it causes very severe glare at almost any hour of the day or even at nights whenever passing by a street lights. Amount of glare is so severe that driving at sunrise or sunset is almost impossible without a polarizing glass. Visibility is severely affected due to the material choice.

Bright sunlight and direct sunlight can cause the dashboard to reflect off the inside of the windshield, severely reducing visibility of the rodea.

I nearly drove through a red light because the glare from the dashboard was so bad. Dash has multiple vent lines in it and is in a very shiny black. Driving in sunlight knocks out nearly 50% of the visibility in the windshield. If I do not wear polarized sunglasses, it is very difficult to see. I have not had the problem confirmed. No one has inspected it. It is a design flaw that needs to be addressed because visibility is very badly impaired.

Tried restart car and it would not start. Let vehicle sit for some time and it started and ran fine, the next day I took off it into the dealership and was told diagnostic indicates my fuel pump needs replaced, I replaced my fuel pump and the car ran fine until October 5, 2024 was driving down the highway at about 65mph when my vehicle lost power, I was able to pull off the road by coasting. Tried to start vehicle no power, engine power reduced light back on as well as check engine light. I was left stuck on the road waiting on a tow truck to take my vehicle back to the dealership that worked on it previously after contacting Chevy it was determined my fuel system failed and the part needed us on back order.

- #11621064October 21, 2024FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, BACK OVER PREVENTION: AUTOMATIC SYSTEM BRAKING
Good day, We purchased our 2024 Chevy Equinox EV a month and a half ago. The issue we are having is very concerning. The vehicle will suddenly come to a complete stop at unexpected times. At first, it happened 3 times while we were backing up. There was no object in the road, no warning beeps, no shaking of the seat. It simply stopped very suddenly and would not back up anymore. I had to put in in park and then again in reverse to have it move again. It’s one thing doing this while slowly backing. Last night it did it again as we were pulling into a parking spot, while in Drive. It stopped so suddenly that we both had sore necks. We are terrified that it will stop itself again while we are at a higher rate of speed or around other vehicles. It is available for inspect at any time. The dealer is entering a ticket with GM tomorrow, October 23rd. It has not been reproduced yet by the dealer. Please advise. Thank you. I woke up one morning to take my daughter to school as I drove away and came to a stop sign my 2014 Equinox started bouncing/shaking tremendously while idling at the stop sign. I turned around and drove back home (1/2 block away.) We had the vehicle towed to a mechanic shop where we were told that the engine is bad and would need to be replaced. This came as a shocker since the vehicle only has 130K miles on it and there were no warnings of engine problems.

The persistent glare on the windshield is a hazard, particularly during the sunniest part of the day. Despite this, Chevrolet has not recommended or provided a solution.

Bought in May 2024 and at that time had a open recall post catalytic converter o2 sensor which led to the discovery of a cracked exhaust manifold and according to service advisor would release toxic fumes in the cab of the vehicle.

In May 2024 there was an open recall regarding o2 sensor which was "fixed" by the dealer in July 2024. On September 22, 2024 the check engine light was triggered and diagnostics revealed o2 sensor failure. It could be a safety issue.

Engine consumed all oil and seized up, complete engine failure. We had just had a full synthetic oil change (and regularly did so according to manufacturer recommendations) 2,000 miles prior. This failure was not due to negligence. It appears to be a part of the same oil consumption issues with the 2.4L ecotech engine.
