THE VAN HAS A ELECTRICAL ISSUE . ALL THE VAN DOORS UNLOCK AND LOCK.. WHEN I AM DRIVING THE VAN THE LOCKS UNLOCK AND LOCK 5 TIMES IN 2 BLOCKS. WHEN THE VAN IS PARKED AND ENGINE IS OFF AND NO KEY IN THE IGNITION THE LOCKS STILL UNLOCK AND LOCK. I TOOK IT TO MY CHEVY DEALER 3 DAYS AGO TO HAVE THE ELECTRICAL ISSUE DIAGNOSED AND FIXED. MY VAN IS STILL SITTING AT MY CHEVY DEALERSHIP FOR 3 DAYS TODAY JANUARY 16TH 2025 MY VEHICLES STILL HAS NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED YET TO EVEN FIX THE ELECTRICAL DOORS LOCKING SYSTEM

VISIBILITY/WIPER
Highly reflective interior glass makes using the side mirrors impossible in common sunny conditions. Unable to see cars and blind spot monitoring light. Incident occurred where I merged into car after straining to use mirror to ensure area was clear. Also, reflection from interior in certina condition make forward visibility dangerous.

Make: Chevy ---- Model: Equinox ----- Year: 2016 ----- Mileage: Just under 78,000 miles ----- Component or system: Rear main seal failed leaking nearly all the oil left in the vehicle over the course of a few minutes of driving, which also left a dinner sized plate of oil underneath the car after parking in my garage. ----- Available upon request: Incident occurred 1/14/2025, with diagnosis from dealer on 1/15/2025. As of this moment the vehicle is still available and is being held by the mechanic while I decide on next course of action (repair or scrap). ----- How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? I luckily made it home before all of the oil had depleted but this could have caused engine damage and failure while driving. The repair shop noted they did not notice any signs of engine damage but they are worried that engine damage may have occurred. There is no warning on the dash or computer related to the seal breaking or oil being almost entirely depleted. ----- Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? It was brought in to a local repair shop who I personally trust which also has a 4.8 stars with 700 ratings on google. They degreased the car due to the oil everywhere and noted the rear main seal on the car had a massive leak and the car is non-operable in this condition. ----- Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Vehicle has only been inspected by the dealer mentioned above. ----- Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? There is no warning or check engine light on the dash or computer related to the seal breaking or oil being almost entirely depleted.

fuel pump failed at 48246 miles the car shut off in the middle of a busy road in my city fortunately we were able to coast to a parking lot across the street and had the vehicle towed to Kerry Chevrolet Kerry Chevrolet inspected , confirmed and repaired the vehicle at a cost of $766.75 to me. They would not warranty this and I had to rent a car while mine was in the shop. If it had been warranties by chevrolet I wouldn't have had to rent the vehicle at a cost of $160.43. light on dash came on and car wouldl cut in and out I was on my way to Kerry Chevrolet for service on this issue when it completely stopped.

The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while his daughter was driving approximately 35 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The contact stated that his daughter was not aware of any warning lights being illuminated during the failure. The contact stated that his daughter had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the fuel pump module had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V013000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

The dashboard lines are quite visible and distracting in the bright sun. It is very difficult to see clearly with sun glare. I feel that this design is dangerous and purely aesthetic. It should be removed.

The PCV Valve froze last week causing pressure to build up and blew the rear seal. All the oil leaked out and caused a grinding noise and the vehicle shutoff on its own. This I have seen is an ongoing problem with the Chevy Equinox. I was quoted $3800 from the dealer to repair.

The car's dashboard has a patterned design (stripes or bars) which casts an extremely distracting glare onto the windshield. It is noticeable in all conditions, but in sunny conditions I have especially noticed this interferes with my ability to see the road and/or pedestrians. I had one incident where I was turning off a road and into a parking lot and nearly missed a pedestrian on the sidewalk because of this (in sunny weather). This is a well-known issue among Chevy Equinox EV owners, starting with the original 2024 model and continuing with the 2025 model. It is so much of an issue that third-party companies have started selling mats that sit on the dashboard to reduce the striped glare.

POWER TRAIN
Majority of the oil leaked out of the vehicle, the low oil light never came on. Car was towed to the shop after I was told not to drive it, as the engine will most likely seize up. The shop found that the rear main crankshaft seal was blown out and leaking to access crank case pressure due to a PCV orifice plugged, not letting the engine vent.

1. Drive Shaft fractured while driving my vehicle, yes it is available for inspection. 2. Car made a loud popping noise and part of the car was dragging and the car was shaking and unsafe to drive. 3. Yes, the car is in the shop and the drive shaft fracture has been confirmed. 4. Not at this time. Only AAA and my local garage have inspected the vehicle. 5. No warning lamps/lights were present. 6. I heard a loud pop and immediately pulled over because I thought it was my tire. I saw something hanging and called AAA for a tow because it was unsafe to drivet.

The vehicle was restarted after two or three attempts each time. The check engine warning light was illuminated and the OnStar app notified her of fuel issues. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the high-pressure fuel pump and the feed pipe needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. - Vehicle showed error message for high voltage battery on 1/3/2025 at less than 5,000 miles. Vehicle was able to drive unrestricted (full speed and acceleration). Vehicle was able to fast charge even though the vehicle was coding for high voltage battery issue. Was informed via Chevy EV that it could be a "glitch" and to continue to drive it, charge it, and see if it would just go away. I did not feel comfortable driving around with a high voltage battery warning and took it to the dealership. Dealership tried to make me drive off lot with it saying it might just be a "glitch" and to call them back if it did not go away. I refused got mgmt involved and was provided a loaner so they could look at my vehicle. - Dealership called me and notified me ,1/6/2025 11:32 AM, that the error was in the thermal management system for the battery. The heat pump that is used to provide thermal mgmt to the battery to ensure safe operating temps had failed. - Safety was put in risk because I park in my driveway which sides up against my house as well as my neighbors house. There is where my charger is also installed. Safety for myself and others was also put at risk. Highway driving increases heat of the battery pack I was told to continue using this vehicle (drive highway daily) which endangers myself in the vehicle and other people around if it caught on fire. - Vehicle was inspected on 1/6 and found to have faulty Thermal system after being told to keep driving on 1/3. - Warning lamp no actual restrictions or information as to what was wrong. GM wanted me to keep driving it.
