The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while reversing out of the driveway, the vehicle suddenly stalled and could to be restarted. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, who diagnosed that the fuel pump module had failed and needed to be replaced. The fuel pump module was replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V013000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 14,729.

SERVICE BRAKES
Traveling down a gravel road, down hill with security gate at bottom of hill. Traveled 100's of times. starting going down hill and used brakes to slow, no slowing. Pushed harder and still no slowing. As hard as possible and hit the gate lots of damage to car. It was as if there were no brakes. In fact I think the car speeded up and the brakes released all the way.

While driving the vehicle there is a glare on the windshield that prevents the ability to see through the windshield. It is almost total obstruction from safely viewing out of the windshield. Totally blinding the driver.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, BACK OVER PREVENTION: REARVIEW SYSTEM BRAKING
After Super Cruise disengages and applies the transition brake, the brake pressure sometimes doesn’t release. The vehicle remains partially or fully braked and won’t roll freely for up to 30 minutes while on a freeway or highway. We are able to move the car to the side of road when this happens but slowly. In one case we attempted to exit the freeway and the breaks got so hot they locked up in the middle of an intersection and the police department had to direct traffic around us. When this happens the warning lights are “rear cross traffic unavailable “ and “forward collision unavailable”. Dealers have inspected and opened up tac cases with manufacturer but they claim to not know issue.

SEATS
Problem persists since 4/3/2025. While parked, the Driver’s Seat was leaned back. About 1 hour later, I couldn’t let it back up. Drove home slowly after 11p. Took to a Repair Shop next day to have the Driver’s Seat fixed. I paid for a Diagnostic & was told that the seat could not be repaired because GMC was no longer manufacturing the seat motor needed. The shop spoke to GMC & a Dealership. I called GMC the next day to complain & verify because car was only 2019 - parts are to be manufactured & made available for minimum of 10yrs! Over next 3 -6 months I spoke to numerous Customer Service employees & Supervisors. I was referred to a Certified Chevrolet Dealer, Dave Gil Chevrolet. I had to use a Large Wedge Pillow & Bed Pillow since the seat was flat back. My car was UNSAFE, difficult to drive & caused concern on whether the seat belts & Air Bags would work properly in the event of an accident or collision. The certified Dealership said that of the 3 motors in the seat, they could get the front one in 2weeks to 3months but not the motor for the rest of the seat. These are the part #’s unsure which is which: 1352-6511 & 1352-5388. I emailed & sent Certified Letter to GMC’s CEO. No response to my email but someone acknowledged my letter. All I ever wanted was my 2019 Equinox repaired properly. Note: Car payment, Insurance, Registration were still expected to be paid & they were by me. I was given a Customer Loyalty Certificate smaller than what I was quoted but not for a new Equinox, for a 2025 Trax which is much smaller! I was told my Equinox couldn’t be repaired, sizable bal due ( I had only purchased 2 yrs prior.) In June 2025 I was mailed a copy of the “California Repurchase Agreement” that GMC was adopting. ( see attached). I sent Certified Letters to that Dept but got no responses. I then escalated to the OH Attorney General’s Consumer Fraud Department & someone called me back. As reported by many before, the glare off the dashboard is a safety issue, disrupting visibility and potentially causing collisions with unseen objects. The TSB #25-NA-069 relating to this issue was installed on my car, but the cabin now looks cheap, reducing the overall value of the car. The pad that was installed cannot be considered permanent, since it is easily removed by the owner. The 2026 model has redesigned the dashboard so the glare problem has been remedied.

2 nights ago, my engine light came on. I purchased a code reader today so see what may be wrong, and code P0299, popped up. I’ve reviewed and saw there’s no known recall on the issue but there’s a known Technical Service Bulletin (TSB). In a Facebook group I saw, it says that some people have replaced and code P0299 is still populating. I’m buying this vehicle and I have barely had 2 years now and wanted it to last.

The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while driving at 50 MPH, there was an abnormal sound and odor coming from the engine. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that pistons needed to be replaced and that the engine was consuming an excessive amount of engine oil. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 113,000.

My windshield has had distortion since I bought it (11/27/2024) and I finally took it to the dealership to get it replaced (09/30/2025). After replacing it they notify me that the new windshield also came with distortion and that unfortunately there is nothing they can do until GM (General Motors) puts something out about it. They said they compared it to the other vehicles and they're all like that but it's not as "bad" as it use to be. The fact that there is no fix and I just have to deal with a brand-new car that causes headaches from how much I have to focus my eyes to be able to see is ridiculous. I don't understand how they're just ok with letting all their customers drive with glares in their windshields and all they can say is "well there's nothing we can do" it's completely unsafe.

The infotainment center failed completely and does not power on. Because of this failure, I cannot see the front, rear, or side cameras, and there are no audible warning sounds for parking, lane safety, or seat belt alerts. Essentially, none of the safety features connected to the infotainment system are functioning. This failure puts my safety and the safety of others at risk because I cannot see camera views when backing up or parking, and I receive no audio alerts or warnings for seat belts, obstacles, or safety features.

When I was driving home from the grocery store a very heavy thunderstorm started I turned my wipers off because of the sudden rain just to realize that they were not working. I had to pull over because I couldn’t see. Causing me to almost get rear ended with my 6 month old, 18 month old and 6 year old I was finally able to start driving 45 minutes later when the rain stopped. In the middle of rush hour traffic and my car just stopped and wouldn't start. After having it towed to the closest auto repair shop I was advised that the Fuel Pump Module was bad and needed to be replaced. Cheverolet was aware of this defect which is why they recalled it in 2021.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
On star Telematics is not working the issue is effecting GPS and most importantly the adaptive driving system including cruise control system. I have stopped using these services to due an intermittent failure while driving. The adaptive cruise will disengage itself. Also the collision avoidance system will initiate braking randomly. I was told that the replacement parts are not available and or “extremely long wait time”. I’m not comfortable driving this vehicle and have no options but to continue until the lease is up.
