ENGINE
While driving the vehicle at about 30 miles an hour it stalled. Engine just shut off, but restarted. Then at the next stop light it stalled out again, but restarted. I was about 2 miles from a place I could pull over, when I did pull over, the car would not start again. Had to have it towed to a repair shop, where I was told that I needed a whole new engine. The check engine light never came on, in fact no lights every came on to indicate an issue of any kind. I got my oil changes regularly. This is not safe vehicle. Two different repair shops have looked at the vehicle. Both are in agreement that there is no compression left in the engine. Both repair shops have told me that they have repaired at least 8-15 Chevy's with this same issue. After investigating this issue, it seems to be KNOWN one. Not sure why Chevy isn't standing by their product.

The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the high-pressure fuel pump was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in the NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V358000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The contact indicated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 41,400.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the crankshaft sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the timing chain had fractured and caused engine damage. The vehicle was not repaired. Was heading to run some errands and when I parked my car I try to release my seat belt buckle and it was not releasing. So I had a knife and I tried wiggling it so the buckle would release and it did not so I was frustrated and broke the seatbelt for driver as well as my rear seat belt. My transmission has been acting weird since 2019 and it happen every morning when it starts running my car shakes for a little then it would run fine. And for brakes my brakes would hesitate and shake as is braking.

SERVICE BRAKES
While exiting the highway I went to put on my brakes and there were no power brakes. It pedal was stiff and I had to push extremely hard to stop and it took a long time to do so. The brake assist light come on as well. I had no prior warning, noise or any reason to believe that my brakes wouldn’t work. We checked the pads, rotors and brake lines and they were all fine so that’s not the issue. It could have been catastrophic if I had been on the highway still when this happened.

I have had my vehicle for only a year and bought it used from a dealership here in town. I understand that the vehicle is nearly 12 years old though I have seen vehicles that were way older and not have half the problems that I am having with mine and it has been well keep and maintenance has been up to date. Early this week my car had been warming up for nearly 30 minutes and I put it in drive and it jerk harder then normal. I just thought it was because it went from hot to cold outside overnight that that was the problem. Though as I was driving down the street my check engine light came on and the vehicle was stalling in between 35-40 mph. So I got it check out and the code said that it was a transmission shift solenoid. I then took it to Chevy to make sure that, that was the issues and the dealership Penske Chevrolet confirmed that it was and that many of the Equinox’s, cruzes, and traverses from the year 2009 until 2019 Health exact same issue and that several people did the complaint form in their dealership I did research online and it’s true many people complain about this issue but I think they don’t know where to go to file a proper complaint. I think that this problem not being recalled is absurd because it’s costing people nearly 4, five, $6000 because of this issue when if many and I do mean many people are having this issue then chevy needs to fix this.

The ac went out on the 2018 equinox and the dealership replaced and ac line citing it was the wrong line and a bolt from the fan shroud rubbed a hole in the line. I have the pictures the dealership took prior to repairs. the hose and we line it up with the bolt on the fan shroud and we do not see how the bolt would rub the hose. It has to be a factory defect.

AIR BAGS, SEAT BELTS
This was previously reported on March 10 2021 and I was given case #9-6591373301. It was a lease car that was returned to the dealership on March 31, 2021. After hitting a pothole in March 2020, the airbag light stayed on. The dealership did not take care of the problem and I was told at that time there were no recalls for that problem. I was told I could get it fixed and save the bill. Once an investigation was started and it was determined that indeed there was a problem, I should be entitled to be reimbursed. To date there have been no recalls although my mechanic had to replace both seat belts because replacing the driver's seat belt did not correct the problem. The diagnostic showed there was a seat belt problem and when they were removed you could see they were defective. When I returned the car I gave the service department the seat belts and to date, I have heard nothing. They did say because the defective seat belts had been replaced they would not be able to determine if the seat belts I turned in had a problem, which made no sense. Is that why no one bothered to contact me?
