I was driving at 330am had cruise control to 70 the speed limit and when I hit my breaks the cruise control didn't disengage instead it speed faster making me lose control of me vehicle took out a sign and went over the hill. My vehicle was totaled.

AIR BAGS
A service airbag indicator light appeared on my 2014 Chevrolet Equinox. The vehicle has under 100k miles and was never involved in an accident. I brought the vehicle into a Chevrolet service center and they advised that the passenger airbag will not deploy in the event of an accident. The Chevrolet service center advised that the repair would cost $1382 for a new passenger airbag module. I contacted GM and their advisor followed up with me. Per our conversation the reason that the airbag needs to be replaced will not be further investigated. They will not cover the cost of replacement. A case number was assigned but advisor declined to provide written documentation of our conversation but agreed to follow-up with written estimate from service center. At this time the passenger airbag module is available for inspection and is with the owner.

VISIBILITY:WINDSHIELD WIPER/WASHER:MOTOR
2014 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. CONSUMER WRITES SEEKING REIMBURSEMENT FOR SAFETY RECALL RELATED TO BALL JOINT IN THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MODULES. THE CONSUMER STATED THE ENGINE FAILED WHILE BEING DRIVEN AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONSUMER WAS DRIVING IN A RAIN STORM AND, OPERATING THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WHEN THE LEFT FRONT WIPER FLEW OFF OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED TO BE REIMBURSED FOR THE COST OF REPAIRS FOR BOTH THE ENGINE AND THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MODULE.

ENGINE
Vehicle has a significant oil leak, as stated by other owners with the year and model vehicle. Could cause critical engine failure if unresolved. The leak is on the passenger side of the engine, causing the oil to drip on the belt and spray throughout the engine compartment. This causes drivers to have to spend more money on oil changes due to excessive oil loss. One of the pictures submitted below was of the ground with two half dollar size amounts of oil from 20 minutes of being parked.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
The vehicle studders, stops, stalls, and or dies upon starting the car. It is due to lack of fuel to fuel rail. The trouble it produces is P129F nothing else. Even trying to prime the vehicles fuel pump following manufacturers steps for doing so does not work. The only way I have been able to get it to have fuel to the rails (reliably) is to push it and jump in and try to start it.

The contact stated that she was able to restart the vehicle without further failure. The contact also stated that after driving for a while, the vehicle was turned off however, the engine continued to run. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the failure as a fuel pump seal malfunction. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 MPH the check engine and traction stability warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The vehicle continued running but failed to exceed 15 MPH. The contact took back roads to her home and then later drove to a dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed and it was determined that the ECO switch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The contact took the vehicle back to the same dealer two more times however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 51,000.

VISIBILITY/WIPER
Windshield wipers do not work and have been recalled for 3 months. I have been waiting for a remedy since then to get them fixed with the dealership we have replaced wiper motor, wiper linkage, and wiper arms to try and solve the problem all of which have failed. The dealership is waiting for the update on this end. My car is due for inspection by the end of June and they are unable to pass me until my wipers are working. Not only is this a huge safety hazard but a huge inconvenience consider I can’t drive my car when it rains and have gotten stuck places waiting on rain to stop or lighten up just to get home.

SEAT BELTS
The seatbelt tensioner I believe is what is called is broke. I am not sure how it happened but when it was noticed I took it to dealership in the town we were in and he looked up the part for me and explained there was 10 yr kansas seat belt warranty on it. Well come to find out my warranty expired Feb. And no dealership or even GM will help replace it. So if I'm in an accident it will most likely fail. I am a single mom with a special needs child that has to be taken to a specialist 3 hrs away. It is currently being held together by electrical tape but it looks like the wires in the thing failed.

My link infotainment center glitches goes black, reverse camera stays on while driving forward. Navigation doesn’t work. Cant turn radio up or down because screen doesn’t respond to touch until it decides to then I’ll catch up every button touched. Freezes and then just shuts down and comes back on when it wants. Radio audio cuts off whenever it wants as well.

The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would hesitate upon the depression of the accelerator pedal with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a dealer where they informed her that the secondary air injector pump needed to be replaced. Upon investigation, the contact discovered that the defect was related to a Technical Service Bulletin 18-NA-061. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired and remained in the possession of the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 145,000.

ENGINE, POWER TRAIN
This model with this VIN# was not listed for a recall, however, it burns oil excessively. The oil gets changed to only have to add oil numerous times before the next oil change. It is absolutely absurd that I have to purchase oil by the gallon. The second problem is the A/C. The check engine light comes on at times when the A/C is on, stays on for days or a week or so, go off, comes back on, and the cycle continues to repeat itself. The mass airflow sensor, oxygen sensors(upstream and down-stream) spark plugs, have all been replaced many times thinking the replacement parts were defected. It appears all of this has to do with a vehicle that was not well built. This car has had a lot of things to go wrong to include the transmission which was no good, and it does not appear that much else about the vehicle is good. It has taken a lot to keep this vehicle running! General Motors, please recall this vehicle? I do not have photos of the oil problem, because I am checking it approximately every two weeks, and more often if I must travel a long distance. I add oil as needed. The situation with the air resulted from getting the check engine light read at an auto parts store, and it is unnerving that it is always the same thing. I want to allow my grandson to take this car to college in August, but there is some uncertainty.

ENGINE
Engine stopped working while advancing In turn lane to turn left at a busy intersection. It stopped moving. Required assistance from 3 other passerbys to push car through traffic and out of the intersection. It it had failed moments later the car would have been in the middle of the intersection. Then needed a tow truck to get the car to the service station. They diagnosed it to be a broken timing chain that damaged the cams and destroyed the engine. It was not inspected by anyone other than the sevice center. The car started rough 3 minutes earlier and was on the way to have it diagnosed at another service center. The check engine and system chassis lights came on after the timing chain failure.
