Something wrong with the fueling system, and have a really bad oil leak, and the car burns oil so fast it’s ridiculous. We’re always having to add oil to the car, atleast a qt at a time.

Onstar module being manipulated and used while car is parked and off. The radio station is changed to a Asian language when car is turned on. The camera are also being manipulated while car is off. Apps are being installed and utilized by other users through the dashboard. and the stability tracker automatically turns on after 35 mph even when turning option off.

1/17- 1900 Driving home from work, light drizzle. Front windshield wipers were operating on low setting then suddenly stop midway of the windshield and gets stuck. Tried turning switch on and off. Nothing. Pulled over. Parked. Turned car off and on. Tried switch. Nothing. When i start car and try the wipers i can hear power to the system but no action from motor.

My engine seized due to excessive oil consumption. the car just had an oil change, there was no indicator there was an issue and the engine seized. It is currently sitting in my driveway- the extended warranty company is giving me a hard time when this is clearly an widely publicized issue with the 2013 Equinox. I need assistance in moving forward as I cannot be without a car or responsible for a new engine payment.

ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL:CRANKCASE (PCV)
The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power. There was smoke coming from the rear of the vehicle, and the rear crankshaft seal was leaking oil onto the ground. The contact stated that the failure was a recurring failure. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with a clogged PCV system causing the rear crankshaft seal to leak oil. The dealer determined that the crankcase seal needed to be replaced and the PCV orifice needed to be cleaned. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact related the failure to Technical Service Bulletin: 14882 (Plugged PCV Orifice in Intake Manifold) however, the vehicle was not covered by the TSB. The failure mileage was approximately 102,000.

VISIBILITY/WIPER
Driving on a major highway with pouring down rain, wiper blades suddenly stopped. I couldn't see anything, it was very dangerous and nerve racking, especially with a 5 year old. Luckily I was in the right lane and able to maneuver over. Had I been in the left lane, I'm not sure how I would have safely handled the situation. There was no warning or indication they were about to give out. They stopped on the driver's side, I've noticed this is common in the forums. This should already be a recall. They are putting a lot of lives in danger. I replaced the fuse, that did not solve the issue. I'm having the motor replaced tomorrow.

POWER TRAIN
Engine lost power while exiting highway. Engine noise and loss of oil and oil pressure. Glided car into repair shop off the highway exit. Repair facility was aware of the GM 2.4 liter frozen PCV valve issue. Car was taken to a Chevrolet dealership where a fix with no guarantee that the engine was good was over $3000.00 to repair. Suggested new engine at approx. $9000.00 was quoted. This is a safety issue as the problem occurs in very cold weather and when the engine stops, it can very well leave the occupants stranded in freezing weather.

The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while her daughter was driving approximately 20 MPH, there was a loud booming sound coming from the engine compartment. The contact stated that the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. During the failure, the power steering and power brakes became inoperable. The vehicle was later towed to the local dealer who diagnosed that the PCV valve was frozen and clogged, causing pressure inside engine crankcase. Due to the failure, the rear main seal became deformed, causing an engine oil leak. The contact was informed that the engine was destroyed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 76,000.

The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed with the accelerator pedal depressed, the vehicle failed to respond. The contact heard an abnormal sound coming from the hood and the vehicle started to hesitate. The contact stated that her son pulled the dipstick, and the pressure blew his hand back and oil splattered throughout the engine. There was no warning light illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that her son replaced the valve cover gasket however, oil was leaking onto the ground. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the PCV Valve was burnt and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the vehicle was out of warranty. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not covered under warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 156,000.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
Was driving down the road and had just hit about 50mph at 4k rpms when suddenly the car started shaking and the check engine light started flashing, i knew immediately it was just a misfire, HOWEVER then the car immediately locked up brakes on full blast and engine cut off. Almost caused a mass accident let alone launching all my stuff. Then i turned the car back on and it drove fine for 20 miles. Just before i got home i am starting to try and stop at a stop sign. Hit the brake and the brake went all the way in with no pressure. A car is coming my car wont stop and im laying on my horn. Car finally got brakes again and boom the car stopped. Got home and ran the codes and it was Abs, t/c, stability lignts all on, airbag system, stability trac, anti lock + braking system, engine and tranny on my chevy app all said “service immediately” rear differential clutch control, electronic brake control module all showed up when i ran the code reader. Was extremely terrifying!! Im going into the dealership tomorrow to get it looked at

The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that as his daughter was slowing down to exit a highway, she was rear-ended at a high rate of speed by another vehicle. The impact from the other vehicle caused his daughter to then hit the vehicle in front of her. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. The contact's daughter was taken to the hospital by ambulance; however, due to a long wait, she was left untreated. She was later treated by her primary care doctor who performed X-rays for the soreness in her left shoulder, the middle of her chest, and right hip; she was given medication to treat the soreness in those areas. A police report was filed. The whereabouts of the other drivers were unknown. The contact arrived at the scene and was able to drive the vehicle home; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate above 40 MPH. The contact called an independent body shop and an appointment was made to inspect the vehicle. The dealer nor the manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
