70,000 miles on vehicle. The engine has consistently burned excessive oil averaging 1 quart per 1,000 miles. The oil low warning light does not detect the low oil. The excessive consumption is potentially damaging to the car resulting in "bucking" at low speed, fouling of spark plugs and loss of power and efficiency.

The vehicle’s engine had been stalling shortly after ignition and when idling. I had it in a repair shop three separate times and was told that it was a problem with the solenoids. The first two times, they were cleaned. They were replaced on the third. I was also told that the vehicle was using an excessive amount of oil, and to bring it in every 3000 miles for an oil change. On the date of the incident, I was traveling home. I took exit 363 off of I-70 onto US-287. While traveling down the off-ramp, the engine stalled. I was unable to brake properly. By the time the vehicle came to a complete stop, I was the middle of a busy crossroads. This particular area sees a lot of traffic, especially semitrailer trucks. When I was next able to get it into be looked at, I chose a different shop because the first had clearly missed something. It was this shop that told me my engine was ruined because it had been being driven without oil, despite not being at the 3000 mile mark yet. The vehicle has not been driven since, as I have not had the $7000 it would cost to replace the engine. Please, if there is any advice or help you can give me, I’d so appreciate words of wisdom. Excessive oil consumption. I have had to refill the oil more often than usual and oil changes have been needed prior to reaching the 3,000 - 5,000 miles and before 3 months. This was even after the initial recall was repaired. It has continued to do this.

Without any notification, alert, or code, the engine started making a ticking/knocking noise. When starting the vehicle later that day it completely stalled. Mechanic has said it was very low on oil and that is common with this year/model. The engine has failed and needs replacing/rebuilding.

ENGINE
PVC pipe froze, causing engine to cease up, blew out rear plug of the engine, drained the entire engine of oil and entail blew the engine. I was driving at 65 mph when this happened. No warning lights came on that the engine was overheated, and car just ceased up and blew while I was driving. GM did absolutely nothing to help with this issue, I was left to fix this problem alone. My father replaced the whole engine by himself so that we could trade it in eventually.

Oil intake is bad burning too much oil.every 2000 miles or less oil needs to be topped off.this should be a recall the 11,12,13 equinox has be considered bad so should the 14.Terrible vehicle would never buy again or recommend. I have dealt with the dealership on this and I am Gm know this matter should be resolved.Now they want to take out the motor to replace piston.VERY disappointed customer!!

Both rear view mirrors in my Equinox change position everytime i get into the car. It doesnt matter how many times you do the preset, it will have one mirror looking at the sky and the other the ground. GM calls it a non problem but I have almost got into several collisions because I didnt realize my mirrors were messed up.

My car runs hot (even with all of my fluids). If I drive "too far" (25-30 mins) driving over 55mph while it's hot outside, my check engine light comes on, all the gauges in my car start going back and forth. A couple different alarms will go off (Service All Wheel Drive System, Service StabiliTrak, Service Park Assist) . My engine revs and my car will start jerking. Sometimes my car won't even start back up right away. My car jerks going up hills. For close to two years my radio and back up camera stopped working, and out of nowhere it started working fine. My tires often lose air. My windshield wiper motor has gone out twice.

I am constantly having to fix my "learn remote" settings, vehicle stereo volume does not always match the level of it's output, blinker continues to get stuck on even after the steering wheel is in the position for the blinker to have ceased, door locks are sometimes stuck unlocked and sometimes stuck locked, ignition sometimes locked in ACC and will not allow for key to be removed, lug nuts have somehow become "swollen" and the dealership could not remove them in order to do a rotation, there is no protection plate under the vehicle causing easy access to vital items, the AC (for the third time since I got the car a year ago) has mysteriously stopped working, the fan motor continues to run for approximately 35 minutes after the vehicle has been turned off, fuel injectors are clogged (second time and I have already had this issue cleaned), headlights have collected water on inside, there is no rubber hose barrier(s) for any door, the hood, the hatch, the door windows, charging outlets are loosely fitted and do not add life to my electronics(they are for whatever reason being drained), the entire underside of the vehicle has become damaged, has begun to rust and bolts/plugs/other vital components have needed to be replaced once again due to there being no protection for the underside of the vehicle. These are just the components that I can think of off the top of my head!
