AEB came standard on my 2024 Corvette. It has never worked since the day I bought it [XXX]. The selling dealer, Service Chevrolet in Lafayette La. worked on it and GM said all systems checked OK. BUT THE AEB STILL DID NOT WORK. GM suggested another GM dealer try to fix it. The second GM dealer reported GM techs would not recommend anything because system tested OK. BUT AEB STILL DID NOT WORK. Third trip to original dealer same result-system tested OK so they did nothing BUT THE AEB STILL DOES NOT WORK. There is obviously a defect in the system and GM refuses to find it. I suspect this is just the tip of the AEB iceberg for GM. GM would rather stick their head in the sand than face the real problem they are facing. 2024 Corvette included AEB. Window sticker shows AEB included. Build code shows AEB in build. Car one month old 650 miles. The sales dealership and second GM dealership communications with GM tech reads system as OK. BUT DOES NOT WORK. GM system tech says system reads OK BUT THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING HAS NEVER ASSISTED OAR APPLIED ONE OUNCE F BRAKES SINCE I BOUGHT IT 12/06/2024. I reported to GM consumer complaints and they keep reading from a script "if system check says vehicle is performing to specs, etc." BUT THE VEHICLE IS NOT PERFORMING TO SPECS. The AEB is not working at all. GMs refusal to address the problem is completly unsafe and unacceptable.

Front wheels are defective confirmed by certified GM dealership which causes unsafe operation of vehicle. Even though wheels are in pristine condition GM will not cover replacement wheels under their warranty. I spoke with GM about the service bulletins they put out regarding the 2020&2021 castings issues with those wheels causing the same complaints however GM still won’t cover their apparent manufacturer’s issues with faulty wheel castings. Installing replacement OEM wheels from GM still will cause a significant safety issue with the vehicles irregular wear if tires and steering issues with these oblong wheels. No warning system notifications were prompted by the vehicle just a significant front end vibration also verified by GM corvette technician. Technician video taped wheels on a wheel balancing machine where it is visually apparent they are oblong. Purchasing aftermarket forged wheels that come with a full warranty instead of using the OEM GM wheels which are still clearly defective and will cause safety issues to include a possible loss of life with this issue they won’t even look into or take responsibility. Also rear brakes made a thumping noise after washing vehicle and parking it with the emergency brake set. Vehicle was looked at by corvette technician in conjunction with above stated wheel issue. GM corrected issue by tech driving vehicle for unspecified amount of time and called it repaired under their guidelines. No replacement of rotor, brake pads, calipers or any other part associated with this issue stated by customer service representative. I was told to not use the emergency brake or problem could arise again. I insisted that there is an issue with the braking system and wanted replacement parts installed under the manufacturers warranty but was denied and told No issue exists. EBrake is provided on vehicles as a safety mechanism and there is a significant problem with this system on this vehicle that GM won’t take responsibility!

On [XXX] I was driving my corvette in Atlantic City, New Jersey, which at that time I noticed smoke coming from the rear of the vehicle. I looked at my dash to see if any warning lights or check engine lights were on and nothing Indicate there was a problem. So I did continue to drive to get to a safe place where I can pull over and look at the engine. When I came up to the red light, the car next to me told me that my vehicle was on the fire. I was able to pull over on the side of road next to the hospital in Atlantic City. And then I got out of my car to nattempt to put out the fire myself as I noticed Melting Plastic that was on fire, was dripping all my tires to avoid the tires Catching on fire. I Remove the plastic that was on fire, causing burns to my hand. Then I called the fire to department to help me put out the fire. Once the fire was put out. I had it towed to the dealership they Told me to call my insurance company. Doing insurance process one of their technicians looked at the vehicle and determined that the rear Transmission case cracked from a Defective part in the transmission breaking, Which Cause the transmission fluid to pour out onto the exhaust system, Then the hot Transmission fluid ignite and set the rear of the car on fire. The insurance company liberty Mutual Refuse to fix the car due to mechanical malfunction. I then Contact General Motors and file a claim Which has been open for several months with zero repairs done to the vehicle. GM motors also sent a technician to look at the vehicle and came to the same conclusion but still has not attempted to fix the vehicle. This vehicle with a Defect like this is very unsafe. I could’ve been driving on the parkway and the vehicle locked up because the transmission broke and caused an shi accident or the fire could’ve been a lot worse could’ve been burnt to death. Experiencing an ongoing problem where the brakes pulsate and vibrate badly, especially after rotors and pads get hot. I am concerned about the safety and possible failure of the brakes if it is not corrected. - The vehicle was purchased as CPO at Antwerpen Chevrolet dealership in Eldersburg, MD with 2155 miles on it. The Carfax noted the front brake rotor(s) were resurfaced. I questioned it and the dealership assured me they would take care of any issue I had with it. - I started experiencing the pulsating at 2550 miles. I went to the dealership and they were very helpful and ended up replacing the front rotors and pads. It appeared to be corrected. - At 3253 miles pulsation started again. Dealer replaced the rear rotors & pads & rechecked front rotors/pads. Ok for a while. - At 3897 miles it started again. Note: each time the dealership was able to duplicate the issue including the Service Mgr and the General Mgr. The front rotors were turned/pads checked. Ok for a while. - At 4037 miles it started again. Service Manager was able to duplicate. Through all of this, multiple cases have been opened with General Motors by myself and the dealership. It has been escalated to various levels. Mileage was put on the car as GM escalation process was ongoing. They then replaced the front rotors and disc pads. - At 5150 miles it started again. This is a serious safety problem as it is a constant concern how reliable the brakes will be. Full details are documented on the following pages with dates. Please reference the corvette forum link that backs up this is a problem for 2021/2022 Z51 corvettes and not just my issue [XXX] GM's answer is that this is normal for a Corvette Z51 package. This is a concerning response. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

When driving, car will falsely and intermittently get random error codes on BUS module; resulting in a false FRUNK or Front Latch Service warning under Body Control Module code B1A5F or U164F for gateway. Chevy has found electrical connectors for car built in Nov/Dec 2023 which have plastic or bits inside the connectors making the electrical system have issues. However, even after addressing those faulty connectors they now think its also related to bad software. No resolution after 8 months of attempted repairs, and Chevy forums show other people with the BUS errors around same build time of end 2023. If you are driving car when these errors randomly pop in or out, the car will go into reduced power and speed limit of 25 MPH as it thinks the front trunk latch is open (when its closed). If on a highway, this can result in death or major accident. Multiple safety concerns go unaddressed by Chevy since early 2024 reports of issues.

My 2024 Chevrolet Convertible has a safety issue with the Rear Vision Camera display. It has a severe reddish tint that blurs images when backing up but only when dark. Pictures attached. Is this truly normal? I wouldn’t think GM would engineer a safety issue and this is an aberration on my vehicle. Should be camera be moved? I really love the car, but this prevents me from using it at safely at night. Picture attached.

Normal driving conditions while in Z-mode in moderate traffic, an audible bang was heard, however there was no immediate issue. A few minutes later the Check Engine Light, ABS, Traction Control and other lights appear on dash. Once lights appear, brakes fail and no longer slow the car down, the gas pedal only revved the car and could no longer accelerate. The car was still on and “driving”, I just didn’t have acceleration or brakes. I put my turn signal on and eventually was able to safely pull off the road and stop the vehicle utilizing Neutral and the Emergency Parking Brake. I was in genuine fear of crashing due to not having brakes or acceleration and felt that if the parking brake and/or neutral failed, then I’d have to crash to stop the vehicle. Not having brakes or acceleration put myself, my passenger, and every vehicle around me when it occurred at risk of injury. This has occurred twice in less than 1 year of ownership with this vehicle and I’ve taken it to two dealerships, Mike Reichenbach Chevrolet and Rick Hendrick Chevrolet. When it first occurred in December 2023, I was also in Z-Mode in light traffic, after it occurred, I drove slowly to the dealership with the hazard lights on. The second time I brought it to a dealership was after the first dealership couldn’t find the cause nor replicate the issue. The codes were cleared by the first dealership, but the car was still operating roughly and not as designed. The third time, in July 2024, it was brought to Rick Hendrick Chevrolet where the service invoice says “GOOD POSSIBILITY THE AFTERMARKET GPS UNIT PLUGGED INTO THE DLC PORT IS SHORTING OUT THE VEHICLE COMMUNICATION CIRCUITS AND CAUSING INTERMITTENT ELECTRICAL ISSUES. MAY BE ALSO CAUSING BATTERY DRAIN ISSUE.” The device referred to is called Bouncie, I got it AFTER this first occurred and the service team there is blaming both of these occurrences on the device. No repair was performed as the issue couldn’t be replicated.

Reoccurrences of car losing all accleration while driving on highway, creating near pile up accidents due again on 7/16. Car gets a false warning signal that the front trunk hatch is open, when it is actually not; others report false Neutral signal; The car front trunk is properly latched, and there is no actual safety concern. However, the car immediate and without warning has the driver lose all power. I have now nearly been in 3 deadly accidents due to this failure over the past few weeks. Dealers and GM have not been helpful at all. Issue is intermittent and definitely an electrical or firmware gremblin. Ive seen multiple people post about this issue on the Corvette Forum as well!

Put vehicle in reverse. Vehicle would not move. Vehicle placed back in park. Put vehicle in reverse again; and after advanced acceleration heard a loud clunk sound and jarring movement. Car continued in reverse normally. Vehicle was put into drive and driven approximately 500 feet at which time vehicle shut down. Service transmission and “rear axle not engaged” messages showing, as well as an overheating message. Dealership unresponsive.

On July 1st, I had a defect in the electrical system of my Corvette nearly causing a major accident with several cars and trucks due to a immediate and unexpected loss of engine and propulsion. I was driving about 75 mph on highway in busy traffic. Car randomly and without any human input - flashed a false alarms for an open hood, although the hood was actually latched and perfectly closed. Alarms stated "close hood now, speed limited to 25 mph". Due to the fault, the car lost all ability to accelerate and quickly lost speed. As the car was going 75 at time of the alarm, the car QUICKLY dropped speeds without any brake lights due to the false fault. I could not accelerate to keep safe speed to get to the breakdown lane. The car immediately would not respond. The semi truck and cars behind me nearly rear ended me, which I had to quickly move lanes to avoid. The new lane change resulted in other cars barely missing and all coming to a screeching halt while my car rapidly decelerated <25 mph on the busy freeway. When the fault occurred - The hood was mechanically closed and fault went away just by restarting the car/engine. Issue occurred 10:11 AM on July 1 Very terrifying event, but it has not yet reoccurred over past 2 days since first observed. I am reporting this as it was nearly a major accident and luckily no one was injured.

I got locked in my car while a software update was taking place. I was running errand on a very hot day, I went to exit the car and the infotainment system did not shut off like usual, on the info screen was a very dim notice to start a software update, I hit the start now button, exited the car, did my business in the bank, went back to my car, used the electric button to open the door, got in and closed the door. When in the car I tried to start it...it would not start. After checking around the car was dead as if someone had pulled the battery out, no lights, no onstar, no power window and worst of all the electric door open button would not open the door! It was a very warm day, sunny and over 90deg F. Fortunately I remembered the manual door open lever, someone new to the car would have been trapped in the car for as long as 15min in the sweltering hot interior. There is no strong warnings for this, owners manual says nothing about being locked in, people on the forums for Corvette say that the warning in on the info screen but you have to advance a random screen to see it....Scary moment for sure.

The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Corvette. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V418000 (Seat Belts) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

hi there have 2024 C8 Corvette purchased new in April 2024. Vehicle interior is the tan leather including the dash board. Due to the light color, sunlight reflects off of the dash cover causing severe glare and visibility. The HUD display makes it worse. (FYI: Our other vehicle has a black dash and HUD with no problems or issues) Have already had 2 incidents where , while making right turns from a stop, almost hit pedestrians. Passenger (Wife), saw pedestrians from her angle and I was able to stop. when the sun refracts just right washing out momentarily line of sight. I have seen other persons on the Corvette forums complain about similar issues and supposedly, GM is aware of this since 2021?. I installed and flat black soft dash cover to minimize the glare and reflections, but this is only a temporary fix. If GM installed flat black dash covers while keeping the other interior colors the same. It should be fine. Recommend for a permanent fix, either replace the light dash covers or have a leather material slip on facade as and upgrade.

Electrical door button is getting stuck and the door is locked from the inside. The switch has been replaced by authorized dealer once already. (July 19 2023) 4,783 miles on the vehicle at the time of first issue. From checking other forums, this is a common problem for this year vehicle.
