Steering Column cover was rattling and felt coming apart. When Right side Turn signal was activated and the turn was completed, automatically left side turn signal was activated. Both of the above concerns were addressed by the GM Chevrolet authorized dealer on 8/26/2024. Again the Turn signal started malfunctioning as stated above, and the vehicle is now at the same GM authorized dealer for service with additional AC compressor failure. Date: 5/28/2025.

When battery was beginning to get old/need replacement but vehicle would still start: 1. The power steering assist stopped working intermittently (virtually impossible to steer even at speed) 2. Power brake stopped working intermittently (very hard to get vehicle to stop) Unsafe for me, would have been very unsafe for certain without significant physical strength.

We purchased a used 2024 Chevy Colorado WT with a little over 4,500 miles on April 9th. A couple of days later before starting the vehicle the brake pedal would sink all the way down to the floor. This happened twice. So I made a service appointment with the Chevy dealer on April 14th. I told the service advisor that the brake pedal sank to the floor twice before starting the vehicle. He said they would take a look at it. When I went to pick up my vehicle the next day, the service advisor said the technician could not duplicate the problem. That same day, the brake pedal sank to the floor before starting the vehicle. So I made another service appointment the following week on April 23rd. I have videos to prove that the brake pedal would sink all the way to the floor before starting the vehicle. The service advisor told me that that technician duplicated the problem and they will order parts for it. The vehicle has been at the dealer since then. The service brake issue is a safety hazard that needs to be addressed.

I was driving the truck and first I got a "Software Update Needed Vehicle must be parked and off" this was followed quickly be a "low tire pressure alarm" 3 times in a short distance then I got a message "Antilock brake issue do not drive over 62 MPH or vehicle may not stop" then the brakes began to randomly slam on and release and smoke began to come out of the air vents. The next alarm was "ESV Shutting down " and I lost power steering and brakes; I tried getting the vehicle off the road out of the traffic lanes and the smoke was rapidly increasing in the cab then the engine shut down and I did my best to get the truck out of the traffic lanes and flames started coming from under the hood. A man stopped to help me out of the truck and by then the engine compartment was fully involved quickly and spreading into the interior of the cab. This all happened on country roads at about 40 MPH. I went to the medical center 2 days later as I was still having problems breathing from all the smoke. This was a new truck I bought in early November and only had 6900 miles on it.

- #11662471May 21, 2025FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION
The components failing are the (ADAS) components. Specific concerns are with adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, front facing detection camera, and blindside detection. The front facing camera will randomly deactivate prompting a message to check for obstructions as a possibly reason of failure. Upon checking, and also wiping the lense, there is not obstrution. Blindside detection operates at random and at times will stay on for a sustained period without any vehicles near or around my vehicle. This is especially bad at night because the light is extremely bright and directed into the drivers vision. Adaptive cruise control will falsely detect vehicles or objects that are not present and implement emergency braking before recognizing there is no vehicle/object and then speed up. Sometimes this will happen consecutively in repetition. This is especially concerning because it has happened at interstate speeds as well as highway speeds with traffic behind me during the day time. It would brake aggressively taking my speed from 65 mph down to 40 mph and the change to a wide open throttle to regain speed only to brake again. Sometimes it will just keep slowing until I turn off cruise control. All of this happens without notice or indication other than the blindside warning lamps during its failure. It has happened often enough that I can not use the cruise control confidently. I have had it into the dealership for inspection and they claim there were no codes and could not reproduce the symptoms during a brief test drive. They however inform me that the front facing camera mentioned earlier does all the sensing for these components but did not get a reaction from it. I do experience one or more of these problems daily. I have also experienced false pedestrian warnings from the system early on but that has not happened for 3 months currently. I welcome requested inspection to hopefully get this fixed for my safety and those around me.

The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Colorado. The contact stated that the 360 rearview camera would activate unintendedly while the vehicle was not in reverse(R). The contact stated that the 360 rearview camera had engaged while driving and remained engaged for an extended period of time. The contact stated that the failure had prevented him from activating the headlights as needed through the infotainment system. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the camera had failed, and the dealer informed the contact that the manufacturer did not have a fix for the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 20. The VIN was not available.

On [XXX] after only 400 miles on the odometer, I experienced complete transmission failure while on a highway and was nearly hit by the vehicle behind me, luckily that did not happen. On April 29th, a new replacement transmission was installed by the Chevy dealer, and now on [XXX] I had experienced a severe burning smell from under the hood of the vehicle accompanied with a grinding sound, which lead to me to take it back to the dealer. On 05/15/25, the customer care manager informed me that the new transmission from the factory has metal debris inside the pan, and the vehicle would again require a complete "tear down". This is very unsafe for major powertrain components from the GM factory to keep failing, another failed transmission on a brand new truck like this is very unsafe especially because I drive on major highways to commute for work and transport my young children. This is unsafe for the public and my family, GM needs to be held accountable, they also refuse to refund me my money back on this vehicle, and are disregarding Lemon Laws in NYS. Upper radiator hose rubber grommet failing at 22k. Had a severe coolant leak coming from top radiator hose blowing back onto hot motor which could have turned into a fire quickly. I was lucky! A lot of GMC Canyons and Colorado's are all reporting the same problem around 22k miles. It is currently at Grossman Chevy Old Saybrook, CT for repair.

There was a catastrophic engine failure of a 2021 Colorado 3.6L V6 engine. The engine has been replaced by GM and the failed engine is in the dealers' possession. While driving on a congested street, the engine misfired and immediately stopped. The vehicle rolled to a stop in the middle of 3 lanes. Occupants had to flag down traffic while pushing vehicle to the side. There was no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms, such as knocking, prior to the failure; and the oil service was maintained per manufacturer. Two separate dealers found "piston to valve contact, top of piston severely damaged, and metalic debris in intake plenum." GM Service Bulletin 19-NA-256 has identified "Seized engine" caused by defective "crankshaft main or rod bearing failure" that can put the oil filter "in by-pass and distribute unfiltered oil with bearing debris throughout the engine." In addition to the rod bearings, designated inspection points are the cam caps and camshaft journals on the heads and the timing change idler sprocket for stiffness when turning. Since the vehicle was 15,000 miles over the 60K warranty, they would not perform the designated diagnostic steps in Service Bulletin. Owner waiting on independent oil analysis. Service department provided pictures of metallic debris and valve damage, as well as the damaged spark plug. After opening Case # 9-14977425869 with GM Customer Service and asking why Warranty has not been extended or a Recall issued for the known manufacturer defect in the TSB, the response was "it likely has not occurred enough times to warrant a recall". With a dealer discount, total towing, diagnostic and repair costs exceed $11,000. Results of Blackstone Labs oil analysis will be provided when completed, however, the oil was just changed 462 miles prior to the failure, so a sample of the previous oil that would have contributed the most to the failure was not available (6,948 mi on previous oil).

When my right turn signal clicks off, it activates my left lane change signal. Took to dealer and was told it functions as it was designed because the tech found two other vehicles that did the same. I've never had a vehicle do that. I don't want to be cut off because of this issue. GM sides with the tech. No one designs vehicles that function way. Been that way since I got it and I keep getting a snow job from dealerships.

On [XXX] at approximately [XXX{}, my new 2025 Chevy Colorado Trail Boss which I purchased from the dealer brand new on [XXX], experienced a sudden catastrophic transmission failure which led to myself nearly being severely injured/possibly killed while driving on a main road in New York; on the way to pick up my two small children. The vehicle while on a main road (state highway) with other vehicles traveling at speeds of 40mph or greater, experienced a sudden mechanical failure that resulted in a complete loss of acceleration, and my vehicle was nearly rear ended by high-speed oncoming traffic behind me. As a medical professional, this is extremely frightening, because a mechanical issue like this could have led to the significant traumatic injuries to myself, my children and others. Upon the vehicle coming to a complete stop in the middle of this main road/state highway, the vehicle was turned back on and then went into a "Limp Mode" and was able to slowly crawl to the dealership which it was purchased from nearby. Luckily with the limp mode and hazard lights, I was able to safely make it to the dealer service department. There was a check engine light that then appeared on the dashboard after the vehicle had come to complete stop on the road, there were no indicators or symptoms that were occurring prior to this event. The vehicle was inspected by the service department of the dealership on 04/15/25, with the result as per the service manager and general manager being a major Transmission component failing- (Valve Body Failure). The service manager and general manager did not tell me if they would send the defective part to the manufacturer for inspection, they seemed more focused on having me leave the dealership and being satisfied with a repaired defective un-safe vehicle. My husband and I were flat towing our vehicle on April 12, 2025. We had been traveling about 120 miles when the breaks on truck suddenly locked up, causing us to drag the vehicle for several feet before someone flagged us down and alerted us about what was happening. Our motor home is a 45' Class A, with a 525 horse power engine. If this happens while towing, we may not know it was happening until something catastrophic happened. If it happened while driving we could be seriously injured.

Transmission shifts very hard from first to second and from second to first. This occurs on the first shift of the day. I have taken the vehicle to the dealer twice and was told that, according to Chevy, this is “normal” operation.

The contact owns a 2025 Chevrolet Colorado. The contact stated that when the vehicle was started, the instrument cluster went black. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer and the contact was informed that there was a Technical Service Bulletin regarding the failure. The contact was advised by the dealer that the manufacturer had ordered the release of the vehicle and informed the contact to wait for a recall letter from the manufacturer. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact called the manufacturer and was informed that the dealer was correct and to wait for the recall letter. The contact was referred by the manufacturer to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 396.
