I am reporting two brake-system failures involving my 2025 Chevrolet Colorado. Both involved brake-fluid leakage from the left-rear brake caliper, including a recurrence after that caliper had already been replaced under warranty. On May 27, 2026, after the truck had just been driven home, we loaded it for a camping trip with our granddaughter. When we started the vehicle to leave, multiple warning lights appeared and the truck had very little braking capability. The Chevrolet dealer documented DTC C05B0 and found that the driver's-side rear brake caliper had separated and was leaking brake fluid from the actuator side. The dealer replaced the left-rear caliper (GM part #13537065), added brake fluid, bled the system, and road-tested the vehicle. On October 19, 2026, approximately five months later, the truck displayed a "Service Parking Brake" warning. The dealer documented DTCs C060B and C2A21 and found brake fluid leaking through the left-rear caliper into the parking-brake actuator. The dealer again replaced the left-rear caliper with the same GM part #13537065 and also replaced the affected parking-brake actuator (GM part #13513581). I am concerned because the replacement caliper experienced another brake-fluid leak only five months after the first failure. The first incident resulted in very little braking capability, and we were fortunate it became apparent in our driveway rather than while driving. I am reporting this because of the serious safety risk of recurring brake-fluid leakage and diminished braking. I am aware NHTSA is investigating brake issues involving Chevrolet Colorado vehicles. I do not know whether these failures are related and am providing the dealer findings, DTCs and part numbers so NHTSA can make that determination.

Power steering Assist is failing consistently. Travelling on highways 65+ speeds while the power assist goes out. Must make it to the side of the road to reset vehicle. No they have not been able to reproduce because they do not test it long enough. By a Chevrolet dealer twice now. First visit they simply replaced the battery and never informed me of error codes regarding this internal component being a problem No warnings until the power steering goes out. There have been recalls from GM for power steering errors but they will not fix this one.

Vehicle experienced sudden loss of electronic power steering assist due to an integrated EPS module failure. This matches the exact failure criteria of GM Recall N202325410, but my VIN was excluded due to manufacturing date limits.

The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Colorado. After starting the vehicle, the engine ran for several seconds before the vehicle unexpectedly shut off. The check engine warning light illuminated, and the word "Key Fob" was displayed while the key fob was in the contact's hand. The vehicle failed to restart and made a clicking sound. An independent mechanic diagnosed the vehicle with fuel pump module failure. The fuel pump module was removed and cleaned; however, the failure reoccurred four months later. The contact purchased a new fuel pump module and the mechanic installed the part. The manufacturer was notified of the failure by phone. The failure mileage was approximately 22,000.

I took my truck in to the dealership for a recall on the faulty radiator hose and told them that I had a break sensor warning pop up on my screen. Today, I was informed that the break pads and sensor are damaged, the pads are worn out and that the rotors are damaged and need turned. I barely have 20,000 miles on this truck that I bought brand new! I was then informed that the warranty expired on the breaks at 7500 miles and that I need to pay about $600 to have the breaks fixed! I paid almost $50,000 for this truck and the breaks are already bad!!!??? I did a search online and found that many, many people are having this very issue, and in fact my own brother got rid of his 2023 Colorado for a break issue. GM is ignoring a real safety issue here! Just like they ignored the faulty radiator hose seal issue that I took this truck back in for 3 times, (before GM sent a recall letter out for-they finally admitted there was a problem!) Car forums are loaded with people complaining about the breaks and all are saying GM is ignoring the problem. I tried calling GM to complain and was told "sorry, nothing we can do". This is BS. They need to stand behind their product and FIX it at THEIR expense.

2020 Chevrolet Colorado 2.5L, approximately 81,500 miles. I experienced a sudden loss of power brake assist. There was no warning noise associated with the failure; the brake pedal became extremely hard and required substantially greater pedal pressure to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was inspected by an independent professional mechanic. Inspection found that the brake booster vacuum pump itself was not the primary source of the failure. The failure was at the engine exhaust camshaft interface that mechanically drives the vacuum pump. The camshaft drive was damaged and no longer properly operated the vacuum pump, resulting in loss of brake vacuum assist. This is not normal brake-pad or rotor wear. The hydraulic brakes remained functional, but without the vacuum assist the pedal effort increased dramatically, creating a significant braking safety concern. The vehicle has been removed from normal use pending repair. I am reporting this because failure of an engine component that drives the brake vacuum pump can cause sudden loss of power brake assist.

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Colorado. The contact stated that while driving and making a left or right turn, the steering wheel shook abnormally, and the failure ceased once the steering wheel returned to center. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the tires were replaced and the front alignment was inspected; however, the failure persisted. The contact was referred to the dealer, who was contacted by phone and confirmed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V213000 (Steering). The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.

While driving a warning will pop up and says "stabilitrack." All I can do is put my hazards, wait on the side of the road, and turn off the vehicle to see if it goes away. I can't drive in that state as the steering wheel gets really hard to control. The steering that make it easier to move the steering wheel (left and right to drive) goes off. So, I am having to put all my strength to make a turn or continue driving. It becomes a huge problem when I am on the highway as it can cause an accident.

While driving, the truck can suddenly lose power steering and traction control without warning. When this occurs, steering becomes extremely difficult and creates a significant safety risk, particularly at higher speeds or when turning. Restarting the vehicle will sometimes restore power steering, but the problem can persist after restarting. Because the failure is unpredictable and can occur at any time while driving, I am concerned that it could result in loss of vehicle control or a crash.

The engine malfunctioned, specifically the 4 camshaft actuator solenoid valves, making the car unable to safely drive. The check engine light came on, likely indicating the car was unsafe to drive. GM issued GM Special Coverage N232430470 covering 2020 Colorado's with a 3.6L V6 engine for the Bank 2 exhaust camshaft actuator solenoid up to 15 years/150,000 miles. This was confirmed by a Chevy dealership. The vehicle was not inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representative. My check engine light first came on 09/05/26, however, the check engine light did disappear later in the week. It came on again 09/27/26, so i decided to have the car inspected, despite the fact that the check engine light later went away.

Shortly after startup or while driving, my vehicle will suddenly lose power steering. The dashboard will illuminate the traction control light and warn "Service Staiblitrak" and "Power Steering Reduced Drive With Care" however this happens when the power steering is already lost. This has happened while pulling out of parking lots and also while pulling up to a red light in the street. If I turn the vehicle off and on 1-2 times then the fault clears and I can continue driving. A dealer could not reproduce the issue. They found two stored fault codes but could not diagnose further. There is no advance warning of the failure. The failure is random and has occurred about 2-3x per month for 3 months.

While driving, the vehicles internal computer system seized, completely shutting down and restarting itself over the course of 30 seconds. During and after this event, the brakes, power steering, and restraint system all became inoperable. Brakes failed to engage and power steering did not function. The issue resolved itself after turning the vehicle completely off and back on again. Brakes, power steering, and the restraint system have operated off and on over the past week since the event happened
