What is the Audi VIN-4-PIN Program?
The Audi VIN-4-PIN program is an internal initiative established by Audi to enhance vehicle quality and facilitate product improvements across its model lineup. This program encourages dealership technicians to submit comprehensive reports on product issues encountered during vehicle service.
By documenting and reporting these issues, Audi aims to gather vital technical information that helps in quickly identifying and resolving root causes. This process ultimately leads to a reduction in handling time for repairs and the implementation of production solutions, benefiting all 2018-2026 Audi vehicle owners.
Why the VIN-4-PIN Program Matters
The long-term quality of Audi vehicles is directly supported by programs like the Audi VIN-4-PIN program. It ensures that real-world issues reported by technicians are systematically captured and addressed by the manufacturer.
For each eligible case reported, technicians receive a $50 dollar bonus, incentivizing thorough documentation and participation. This structured feedback loop is crucial for the continuous improvement of Audi's products and the overall ownership experience.
Important Revisions and Updates
Technical Service Bulletin 00 23 75 2066297/3, issued on October 9, 2023, supersedes an earlier bulletin, 00 23-68, dated May 8, 2023. The revisions reflect ongoing refinements to the program.
Key updates include adding Model Year 25 and Model Year 24 to the scope, and transitioning from ServiceNet references to Elsa2Go for technician resources. Notably, the reward for eligible cases was also updated to $50 per case.
How Technicians Report a VIN-4-PIN Case
Technicians follow a specific procedure to report a VIN-4-PIN case to the Technical Assistance Center (TAC) via web tickets. This ensures that all necessary information is captured for Audi's fault-solving process.
Requirements for reporting a case:
- The technician must use their own login credentials when submitting a TAC case. The bonus is awarded to the individual whose credentials are used.
- All fields in the topic worksheet must be completed with maximum detail.
- All requested documentation, such as videos, sound recordings, photos, and MVBs, must be attached to the initial TAC contact.
- A clear complaint, cause, and correction must be documented in the TAC case.
- A valid contact phone number for the technician must be included in the TAC case.
- The case should be closed promptly after TAC review.
Steps to report a VIN-4-PIN case:
- Verify that the customer concern is listed on Elsa2Go under
Technician references >> VIN-4-PIN Topic list. - Complete the associated worksheet found on Elsa2Go via
Technician references >> search vin4pin. - Create a TAC Web ticket. The first sentence of the ticket must be: "Submitting VIN-4-PIN topic (then state the topic)".
- Include the customer concern, diagnosis, worksheets, and any requested media for the topic. Individual file sizes for attachments must not exceed 10MB.
- After a TAC consultant confirms all information is present, close the TAC case.
Important Note for Technicians: Do not print the topic list or worksheets for later use, as the information needed can change frequently. If a topic or worksheet is not visible on Elsa2Go at the time of TAC ticket submission, it is no longer needed or eligible for the bonus payment.
Payment and Eligibility Details
Eligible TAC cases submitted through the Audi VIN-4-PIN program are processed for payment at the end of each month. Bonus payments are then sent out monthly to participating technicians.
Technicians will receive a debit card for their initial payment, which should be retained for future payments. This card will be reloaded monthly for any new eligible cases. The initial debit card typically arrives at the dealership within approximately two weeks. Subsequent payments will be made available on the same card. The debit card must be activated according to the instructions provided with the card, and it can be accessed online. It is crucial that the debit card is issued to the technician listed in the TAC case, and they MUST use their own login credentials.
For questions regarding the debit card, payments, or lost cards, technicians can contact [email protected] or call 1-888-777-9336, option 1.
