The contact owns a 2024 Nissan Rogue. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V080000 (Engine). The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle on two occasions, the vehicle failed to start immediately. During the first failure to start, the vehicle started after several minutes with the transmission, check engine, and front radar obstruction warning lights illuminated, and the message "Forward Driving Aid Temporarily Disabled", and the message "Front Sensor Blocked - See Owner’s Manual" was displayed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that during the second failure, while attempting to start the vehicle, the engine turned over, but the vehicle failed to start for approximately two hours. The master, transmission, check engine, and front radar obstruction warning lights were illuminated and the " Forward Driving Aid Temporarily Disabled", and "Front Sensor Blocked - See Owner’s Manual" messages were displayed. The contact stated that the vehicle was driven to the residence; however, while the vehicle was parked there was blue smoke coming from the tailpipe. While driving approximately 30 MPH, the engine overheated. The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road and the heater was turned on for approximately three minutes. The vehicle was then towed to a dealer where it was determined that the engine needed to be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

I had just pulled into my driveway and got out and shut the drivers side door and my back window spontaneously shattered. I read online that this has been happening with Rogues in my model year range.

Hi! This is my 2nd input here about my 2022 Nissan Rogue. Recaping that whike driving home, smoke began to emerge from under the hood and multiple warning signs popped up (please see previous input for more information). Cureentky, my vehicle was diagnosed with a converter issue. The recent recall was related to the engine. The converter and my spark plugs (2 spark plugs replaced already) were all damaged by the engine. This makes sense why there are numerous issues. While the extended warranty covers the engine and not the converter, under the law of consequential damage, anything damaged by this engine is covered due to the cause from the engine. I currently have a rental and am leaving my Rogue at the dealership due to it being unsafe to drive and that the dealership has not provided a remedy for this defect, which is covered by law under this recall on the Rogue due to consequential damage. My Rogue will continue to have issues until all related/noncoverd parts are fixed under this. This vehicle is now a lemon due to consistent issue with the engine it damaging other parts. I am hoping for a good will pay and buyback.

around 170,000 miles the vehicle started to feel like it was jerking when you went to pull off. eventually when you put it into reverse and barely press the gas, the engine would rev loud and you can hear the transmission get loud and the car would start to jerk driving backwards. driving down the road after around 30 mins you can feel under the gear shifter and the center console will start to disperse heat to where my leg starts to get real hot. sometimes it jerks and hesitates to take off way more then often. i have got a friend that does mechanical work to look at and drive the vehicle and he says that yes it is a transmission issue.

While driving home, multiple alerts showed up on the dashboard about my engine and to check the manual. Smoke began to come up from the engine and smelled really bad. I heard a rattling as well. The recall work was done on this not too long ago, coming up on 1 year ago, and still have engine difficulties after they replaced the entire engine and did the recall repair.

On two separate occasions, my 2023 Nissan Rogue has experienced major loss of power while driving 80 mph. The first time, all of the dash lights were blinking and there was an awful noise coming from the engine. I could not drive over 10 mph. The vehicle had to be towed 200 miles to the nearest Nissan dealer in Billings, MT. They cleared the codes, test drove it and said everything was fine. The second time my vehicle had to be towed. 115 miles from the nearest Nissan dealer. Same issues, except this time there were no dash lights. Prior to all of this happening, my car had an open recall for the 1.5L VC-Turbo engine that my car has. Since the first time this occurred and Nissan "fixed" the problem, there has been no open recall. With the second occurance, Nissan had to replace the Throttle Actuator and Gaskets according to the invoice. Luckily, I had purchased my own extended warranty and that warranty covered $1,104.20 of the $1,204.20 (I paid $100 co-pay). I was charged $715 for towing from Nissan Roadside Assistance. The invoice claims the Nissan found the following diagnostic results: DTC P0507-00 Wwhich is directly linked to a fractured internal gear in the Electric Throttle Control Actuator, the subject of NHTSA Recall 26V081 and DTC P0196 which is directly linked to engine oil temperature performance, the precursor to engine bearing seizures addressed in NHTSA Recall 26V080. Nissan is currently excluding many 2023 models from the "official" recall list. My car has 67,350 miles on it, but this failure should be covered by Nissan's 10-year/120,000-mile extended powertrain warranty. The parts replaced (throttle actuator and gaskets) and the diagnostic codes are identical to those in the 2026 expanded recall populations. Denying coverage based on an "open recall" statis is a violation of the spirit of the NHTSA safety mandates for this engine. I am formally requesting/demanding reimbursment from Nissan North America for the $815 that I have been charged.

I am writing to formally notify NHTSA of a serious safety incident involving my 2013 Nissan Rogue. My vehicle experienced an electrical fire while parked in my driveway following heavy snowstorms and road salt exposure. The vehicle was stationary at the time of the incident. My insurance company declared the vehicle a total loss. There were no warning lights or other symptoms prior to this incident. Researching this failure, I discovered NHTSA Safety Recall No. 15V032000, which states that moisture and road salt may reach the driver-side wiring harness connector, causing corrosion and potential electrical short circuits that can result in a vehicle fire. My incident aligns exactly with the circumstances described in this recall. A VIN search on NHTSA indicates no open recalls, however, a plethora of complaints have been filed by owners of this make and model and there is technical documentation confirming that corrosion-related electrical fires have occurred across this model and generation. This fire posed a serious risk of injury or death.

August 1, 2025 I was trying to get to [XXX] from [XXX] to see my mother, before Kansas City, Mo. Before getting to KC while cruise was engaged car RPM’s began amping but car did not speed up. I put it park and turned motor off and tried to drive again, but did the same thing. I called my mechanic in XXX and he suggested I try to come back but I couldn’t go over 30mph driving on the shoulder ALL the way back to XXX.!! Very tramatic experience.!! Mechanic said it sounded like possible transmission problem.!!! That’s when my son told me about Nissan’s new transmission they went to that is in this Nissan.!! They know it was a bad idea.!!! The active grill shutter is in operative and has had to be replaced three times with an 18 months. I was told that this is a common issue with this vehicle and that when the active grill shutter stops functioning, it isn’t a danger to the engine and can cause dangerous scenarios.

There is a recall on my vehicle and I took it to the local Nissan dealer Jones Nissan Bel Air, Md. 21014 and they said their manager called Nissan and they told them there’s no recall on my vehicle but it keeps showing up in the system that there is. At this point I don’t know who to believe and I want a vehicle that is safe and reliable. The dealership said they ran tests on it and nothing comes up and they are saying it’s fine. I’m just very skeptical at this point and are considering getting rid of the vehicle.

My light came on it said engine malfunction reduced speed service now I checked online for recalls found one and “got it fixed” I left the dealership and had to turn back as the light came back on got it “fixed again” I left later that day my transmission light came on and reduced speed I brought it back to dealership they then kept my car for almost two weeks “fixed the problem again” 3 days later had to bring it back a 2 days later got it back and now tomorrow I have to bring it back. Major safety issue my life is in danger every time I drive as it sporadically reduces speed to under 10 miles an hour I do not feel safe I can’t drive on the highway could you imagine if that happens with people driving 70 plus miles an hour behind me I will die and this needs to be addressed asap.
