I have had this outlander since Sept of 2021 and the hood flutter is awful. A few attempts of installing weatherstrips and no change. I had the whole hood replaced and it seems as if the whole hood is even 10x worse. Its extremly distracting and can not be safe with the amount of movement it has. This is a distraction and safety issue. No change was made with the new hood. I’m going on a year with this vehicle and it’s problem after problem. The worst one is the major hood bouncing. (Yes, the hood is latched properly) it’s just getting worse week by week. I need an answer ASAP. This is not normal and defiantly not safe at all! It’s a matter of time when that latch gives and that hood comes up!

I have a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport that was purchased in 2020 with 42 thousand miles on it. While I was on the highway I started experiencing acceleration hesitation and my car gave a message saying transmission service needed. I took my car to several mechanics that said my transmission is slipping and getting ready to die. They mentioned CVT issue. I contacted Mitsubishi but they told me according to my VIN my car is not under a recall. However, my mechanics informed me along with several reports that 2015-2016 outlander sports and certain model Lancers were recalled due to acceleration hesitation. When I asked what that meant in plain English I was told my transmission is bad and that’s what causes acceleration hesitation. Then Mitsubishi told me that my car would have to have been manufactured within a certain year in order for the recall to be valid for my vehicle. I was never informed of a recall and didn’t know something was wrong until I was in the middle of the highway with my son in the car. We could have been killed. The transmission in these vehicles are no good and I don’t care about a VIN my vehicle is the year make and model that was recalled. A manufacturing issue is not my issue. I want my vehicle properly repaired. It’s practically new. I have also reached out to my attorney.

2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport SE I bought the car on March 7, 2022 from Cherry Hill Auto with the owner by name Steven. The car was bought under my cousin Denise based at that moment I didn't had a temporary permit. The car was parked technically all the time. It was driven just one mile. Oil change was thick and black, electrical issues, Car asking for maintenance, then it shows new issues and didn't turn on. I call Steven and explain him the issues and he referred me to a shop he said he has more confidence than the MITSUBISHI Company in Cherry Hill. The shop is Universal Auto Repair on Cherry Hill as well. Car it's been almost a month, catalytic converter and Oxygen sensor was stolen. The shop told me to call Geico and claim the parts which I know isn't right. I pay almost 12K between Car, taxes, all charges and a 36 months Penn Warranty Gold Plan with a check. Car has a lot of issues. My cousin open a case with GEICO and I have to pay $250 deductible for something that occur under their responsibility and in their shop. Is very strange Steven said he don't trust in MITSUBISHI Service when car start having problems and referred me to this mechanic and parts was stolen there. My car still in the shop for almost 2 months. I couldn't even do the inspection because have a lot of issues and car don't qualified base on that. I just want my money back. I bought a car about 5 months ago and I never driven it. If I can have any assistance in spanish I'll appreciate it. Thanks.

At 5,800 miles my engine light came on. I took it to Auto Zone to have them plug the reader in and the error was “P0403” related to the EGR valve malfunction. Of course like I mentioned in another report I filed today… after a few days of driving the car it magically turned off on its own so I did not take it to the dealership because the appointment was for days after the check engine light went off on its own.

This car has been a problem child since day one. Yesterday I was driving on the highway normally and out of nowhere received a warning on my dashboard about all of these malfunctions and that my ABS, 4WD system, collision system, etc was malfunctioned and turned off. This was followed by a quick sudden jolt of my car. It stayed on throughout the remainder of the day and then all of the alerts disappeared once I turned off my car and back on later that day. Although the alerts turned off… it is still very concerning to me.

- #11473646July 13, 2022SUSPENSION
My Outlander isn't even a year old. My rear suspension is completely shot. The back of my Outlander bounces all over the road and when I hit a bump of any kind it feels as if the rear of the car is sliding out from under and could spin me out. It is not a safe vehicle to drive especially on long trips. I do drive back and forth to work though as it is my only form of transportation. The dealership at first said there was nothing wrong, after showing them the second time they agreed that the rear suspension is shot.
