The warning went off that the system was not working while I was driving. The call was evaluated by a Mitsubishi Service Center. The Service Center said the Front Bracket for the radar was bent. The Service Center said there is no evidence of a collision to the front end of the car.

After pumping gas there is a strong smell of gasoline in the vehicle. This is a safety issue for anyone in the vehicle inhaling the fumes. It seems to get stronger when the vehicle is on (for instance at a stop light) the dealership acknowledge this was more common for the 2024 and 2025 models and only a service alert. Vehicle has been inspected by a service tech. No warning lights are on.

The front and rear backup cameras on my 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander have completely failed, leaving me with a blank, black screen. This creates a severe safety hazard when parking and reversing. My vehicle's VIN explicitly shows an active "Remedy Status: Repair Available" on the official Mitsubishi portal for safety recalls SR-25-001, SR-23-001, and SR-22-003.The local dealerships claim the recall was already completed in April. However, if the safety issue was truly and permanently fixed, the "Remedy Status" column would match and say "Completed." Instead, the manufacturer's live system explicitly says "Repair Available," proving my vehicle is legally owed the updated software fix.Despite this clear safety status, Jeremy Franklin Mitsubishi (demanding $182) and Northtowne Mitsubishi (demanding $169) are refusing to perform these safety repairs unless I pay an out-of-pocket diagnostic fee. Mitsubishi Corporate Customer Relations has also refused to stop the dealerships from imposing these illegal financial barriers on an open federal safety recall

The camera does not activate when the car is put into reverse. It also doesn't activate when you are parking the car. The parking camera doesn't show on the screen at all. The recall on this item was repaired on my car but didn't fix the issue and the dealer refused to service it further without significant cost. This is a fundamental safety issue that should be addressed by recall and repaired without cost to the owner. The dealership that serviced a previous recall was Doug Smith Mitsubishi in American Fork Utah, however this didn't fix the issue. I also paid money for a diagnostic service and the service center could not determine why the camera is not triggering. The warning sounds/alerts still work. Please help. Thanks

Our vehicles gas door would not open to get gas. During the 2nd and 3rd repair they damaged our vehicle. Worst of all on the last repair they modified our gas tank. They said they took it off another vehicle. Mine was a locking door now it isn’t. Since this was done the vehicle smells of gas when you fill it up and the miles to empty is off about 100 miles.

- #11756047August 10, 2026TIRES
I rented this car from Drivo on July 17th. On the 21st we noticed the tire light. When we went to the garage to get this checked the two rear tires were bald, with the wires showing through the tires. We have photos of this, and a statement from the garage that the tires were in an illegal/unroadworthy condition. Despite raising this in many emails with the company, Drivo/Ace, nobody has made any response to our safety concerns. I think that this car may still be in an unroadworthy condition.

The contact owns a 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 MPH, the Forward Collision Avoidance system failed to activate as needed and the vehicle nearly crashed into the rear of another vehicle. The contact stated that during the failure, the vehicle in front struck a pedestrian, and the pedestrian went airborne and landed on the hood of the contact's vehicle. The contact stated that the Forward Collision Avoidance system failed to immediately activate, and the brake pedal was depressed to avoid crashing into the rear of the vehicle ahead. The pedestrian sustained unknown injuries and was transported to the hospital. The contact mentioned that the vehicle was taken to a dealer on several occasions for the seat belts failing to latch and secure the occupants. The dealer mentioned that there might be crumbs preventing the latch however, the contact mentioned that theory was not possible for the driver's seat belt. The failure was present with the seat belts in the second and third row seats. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. A Police report was filed at the scene. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 3,000.

My 2024 Outlander locked all the doors while the engine was running and the FAST key was inside the vehicle. I exited normally through the driver’s door and did not intentionally lock the vehicle. I want this documented on the repair order and I’d like the keyless-operation system checked, including the interior key antenna and any BCM/keyless-system faults or available software updates. I am available for inspection. Not reproduced except by myself. Vehicle has been inspected by no one. No warning. This is a hazard because a child or pet could have been locked inside. I could be stranded in an unsafe location or in severe weather that would pose a risk to myself. The car could run out of gas by the time I’d figure out how to get back inside.

While I was driving on 77 south in Charlotte nc rt before exit 11 I heard a scraping and rattling sound then a loud pop. My air pressure immediately came on and dropped to zero for the passenger rear tire. I got off and pulled to the side of the road until road side assistance was able to tow my vehicle. The vehicle exhibits an intense, overpowering raw gasoline smell inside the passenger cabin, specifically originating from beneath the rear seat area. When the climate control/AC fan is turned on, raw fuel vapors are siphoned directly out of the dashboard air vents into the faces of the occupants, causing headaches and dizziness. Two independent mechanics have pressure-tested the fuel lines and confirmed there are no liquid fuel leaks, proving this is a structural vapor siphoning defect. Mitsubishi has documented this exact factory defect under TSB TS-25-13-001 (NHTSA ID: MC-11018002-0001), but the local dealership refuses to perform the safety repair without a massive out-of-pocket payment because the vehicle has 87,000 miles. This is an immediate fire and health hazard for anyone inside the vehicle.

- #11753974July 31, 2026ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL, ENGINE, BACK OVER PREVENTION
The contact rented a 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander from Drivo Car Rental. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal sound. The contact stated that there was a vibrating sound coming from the hood. The front windshield was fractured on the passenger's side, and the instrument cluster failed to function as intended. The contact stated that the safety features were inoperable, and the vehicle was almost involved in a crash. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had occurred while traveling with the family. The contact stated that the vehicle was unsafe to drive. The vehicle was returned to Drivo Car Rental. The contact stated that while returning the vehicle to the agency, the contact was informed that the vehicle should not have been rented. In addition, the contact researched and became aware of an unrepaired recall associated with the VIN under NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V369000 (Back Over Prevention). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.

- #11746298June 24, 2026BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA
Recall repair did not solve the camera problem. Rear camera and parking assist camera's do not come on. When car is shifted into reverse, camera does not appear. This issue was already reported and I have completed the recall maintenance for this issue and the problem still persists. This is a massive safety liability. I took the car into the dealership and they confirmed the recall maintenance has already been completed. They then charged me $100 to do a diagnostic test, but they couldn't determine why the cameras were failing. I paid $100 and left with nothing fixed.

While putting my car in reverse my backup camera froze and then went completely black. I have tried the hard and soft reset with no luck. You can hear the infotainment system trying to load over and over again with a black screen. While researching, I see there was a previous recall for this exact problem that required a software update which mine had right before I bought it used less than a year ago. If the update did not work or only worked temporarily, the unit had to be replaced. I’m not getting anywhere with my dealership for help. They offered to sell me a $5,000 unit or told me to buy an extended warranty for electronics, wait a month and file a claim. I find it hard to believe that this is not related to recall. I had a 13 year old Nissan pathfinder before his and my backup camera/screen was still going strong.

Front driver seat belt does not retract and has caused damage to door. Vehicle is available for inspection. We are worried that the seatbelt will not function properly in an accident since is does not function properly now. No confirmation by dealer, going in next week for service, however, dealer representative did say on phone that Mitsibishi s don't have seat belt problems??? First noticed problem last winter when I noticed the dents in the door frame being caused by non retracting seatbelt.

- #11744928June 18, 2026FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, POWER TRAIN
2 issues contributed to accident: 1st - Vehicle did not go into Park when button on gear shift was pushed. Driver did not notice that vehicle remained in Drive and exited the vehicle. 2nd - Vehicle did not automatically engage the emergency brake/park mode it is designed to do when Vehicle is in drive and driver door opens. As a result, Vehicle began to roll forward. Driver was knocked down and fell to ground and Vehicle ran over her legs, coming to a stop with the rear Driver side tire on her leg.

- #11744193June 15, 2026SERVICE BRAKES, FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
I own a 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander that I purchased new on December 21, 2024. Since shortly after purchase, the vehicle has experienced ongoing problems involving the brakes, electrical system, and fuel fumes entering the passenger cabin. The most serious issue is the brake system. I have experienced hard braking, inconsistent brake response, brake warning lights, and at least one incident where the brakes suddenly failed and I had to take emergency action to stop the vehicle. The dealership has attempted multiple repairs, including replacing the brake booster, master cylinder, and other brake components, but the problem continues. The vehicle has also had repeated electrical problems, including warning lights, low-voltage issues, radio malfunctions, and steering wheel controls that stopped working. In addition, fuel fumes continue to enter the cabin while driving and when the vehicle is parked. The dealership has already replaced the fuel vapor canister and fuel filler neck, but the fuel odor persists. On June 13, 2026, I went to the emergency room because of symptoms related to inhaling the fuel vapors. I have reported these issues to both the dealership and Mitsubishi Motors North America on multiple occasions since the problems first began. Despite repeated repair attempts and ongoing communication, the defects remain unresolved. Based on the repeated failures, the number of repair visits, and the amount of time the vehicle has been out of service, I believe this vehicle qualifies as a lemon. The vehicle has been in the repair shop numerous times and has been out of service for approximately 45 days. I am filing this complaint because I am concerned that the brake failures and fuel vapor intrusion could put me, my passengers, and other drivers at risk. I am seeking assistance in resolving this issue as soon as possible to prevent further safety and health risks.
