Engine camshaft position sensors are leaking oil which has "wicked" into the engine wiring harness and ECU. This is a common safety issue on this year and I would like to urge Mercedes to issue a recall as oil contamination within the electrical system can lead to a host of other safety concerns.

I believe there is faulty wiring in the door speaker front passenger side. It causes crackling and humming. It lessens some when you turn ECO off. Concerned it could ignite a fire. Once told by dealer it’s caused by rain going into the door. Next time told that just to look at the problem would be around $600 because it has steel doors??

- #11599777July 7, 2024FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Fuel pump housing failed allowing gas to leak, further degrading parts of the fuel system, ultimately causing the locking ring to fail and gas to leak under rear passenger seat. Fumes filled the cabin while my family and I including two young children were inside. Fortunately, this issue was discovered rather quick, if not the fuel could have leaked onto the hot exhaust under the tank and ignited. I recently found this issue is well known in the Mercedes-Benz W211 chassis. You have multiple complaints on file. Mercedes had in fact issued an extended warranty of the fuel system however, it has since expired. The car provided no warning messages prior to failure. The car has yet to be inspected by the dealer, mechanic, or insurance.

I received a letter from Mercedes stating there was concern over 2010 to 2014 (est) that should be checked after 10 years. I can not find that letter. I have a 2014 EClass 350 model. Can you please tell me what is was? Thanks

Contacted Mercedes because Dealer said it was a common problem. Airbag light was on. I was told that airbags could unsafely deploy as driving the vehicle and the issue was connected to the steering column. After looking online, I found that there are several drivers that could be in unsafe conditions while driving the car who reported the same thing. I contacted Mercedes to advise and Mercedes was dismissive. My concern is for innocent people that could be in danger because of Mercedes defects or possible negligence in addressing the safety issue that could lead to the loss of life.

The rear subframe is corroded and needs to be replaces - there was no prior warning and the Benz dealer stated this is something that only is evident to even the most highly trained mechanics once it is at the point of total failure. The rear brake lines are also corroded and the Benz dealer will only pay for the subframe and not the very expensive rear brake line replacement which seems to be entirely related.

On June 16, 2024, while driving my 2022 Mercedes E 350 with my two young children in the car, my sunroof suddenly and literally exploded. Fortunately, the sunroof screen was closed, which prevented us from sustaining any direct injuries. However, the entire sunroof shattered and is now gone. The explosion sounded like a gunshot, causing immediate and extreme distress. My body began shaking uncontrollably from the shock and fear of the incident. This unexpected event posed a severe safety hazard, and I am deeply concerned about the potential risks to other drivers with similar vehicles. **Vehicle Information:** - Make: Mercedes-Benz - Model: E 350 - Year: 2022 - Mileage: 87,000 miles **Incident Information:** - Date of Incident: June 16, 2024 - Description of Incident: Sunroof explosion while driving with children in the car. I urge the NHTSA to investigate this matter as it is a critical safety issue that could have resulted in serious injuries or worse.

I purchased the car late April. I drove the car for three or four days and started noticing a rattling coming the front right part of the car (passenger side.). I chatted with the warranty company (SilverRock.). They asked me to take it to a Meineke auto repair facility in Olympia, WA. Meinke’s mechanic diagnosed it as a loose component involving the brake caliper. He informed me they were covering it under the warranty, & asked me to bring the car back on Wednesday as he was short staffed. I brought the car back on Wednesday, it was there all day. He called late in the afternoon and informed me they found the problem and that SilverRock had amended the claim and refused to cover it. Told me it needed new brakes for 800+ bucks. That being said it was also sold to me with gouges out of several tires. Of which I have photos. This is inexcusable it is also a safety issue.

Rear subframe rusted was covered under an extended warranty (after a lawsuit), but the rear brake lines are also very rusted and not covered by warranty. Rear springs also broken (rusted) and bolts seized.
