My 2017 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is subject to NHTSA Recall 25V-514 (Manufacturer Recall D019), issued August 8, 2025, which remains unresolved as of today. The recall concerns a front suspension upper knuckle joint that may develop a crack, potentially leading to detachment of the upper suspension arm and loss of vehicle control. Despite the recall being issued approximately nine months ago, the remedy is listed as "not yet available." The dealer has confirmed no fix or inspection appointment can be completed at this time. No repair timeline has been communicated by Jaguar Land Rover North America. Because this recall involves a potential loss of vehicle controllability and crash risk, the vehicle has been taken out of service and cannot be safely operated. The manufacturer has failed to provide parts or a remedy within a reasonable timeframe, leaving the owner without the use of a drivable vehicle. This complaint is filed to document the manufacturer's failure to make a remedy available for a safety-critical open recall and to request federal oversight of the resolution timeline for Recall 25V-514.

The contact owns a 2015 Land Rover Range Rover. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V-514000 (Steering); however, the part for the repairs was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable timeframe for the remedy to be available. The contact stated that their husband informed them, and a certified mechanic inspected the vehicle after receiving the recall and noticed that the suspension knuckle had fractured. The vehicle had not been driven. The failure had occurred before and had been repaired at the expense of the contact. The dealer was contacted, and it was confirmed that the previous repairs were completed correctly and no cause for the failure occurring again was identified. After the failure occurred again and the recall notice was received by another dealer, Land Rover Lakeland, 2550 Interstate Dr, Lakeland, FL 33805, was contacted, and it was confirmed that there was no remedy. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed the remedy was not available, and therefore, reimbursement could not be provided till there was a remedy. The failure mileage was approximately 109,000.

I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding the failure of Land Rover and its authorized dealership network to complete Safety Recall D019 involving the front suspension knuckle crack on my 2015 Range Rover Sport. I received the official recall notice in September 2025. The recall concerns a serious safety defect involving the front suspension system, which presents a substantial risk of loss of vehicle control, crash, injury, or worse. Despite the seriousness of this defect and the passage of many months, the required repair has still not been completed. Since receiving the notice, I have repeatedly contacted the dealership from which I purchased the vehicle, as well as representatives associated with the manufacturer, seeking to schedule the repair. Each time, I have been met with delays, conflicting information, and excuses regarding parts availability. Most recently, I was informed that “tariffs” are allegedly responsible for the inability to provide the replacement parts. This explanation is unacceptable. Federal safety recalls are intended to protect consumers from dangerous defects, and manufacturers have a legal obligation to provide timely remedies once a recall has been issued. It is unreasonable and unsafe for consumers to continue operating vehicles subject to a known suspension defect for months without access to the necessary repair. I am requesting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigate the ongoing delays associated with Recall D019 and determine whether Land Rover is meeting its obligations under federal motor vehicle safety laws. I also ask that appropriate enforcement action be considered as the manufacturer has to provide an adequate and timely remedy to affected vehicle owners. This situation has caused significant frustration and concern as this i my families only vehicle. No vehicle owner should be left indefinitely waiting for repairs related to a serious safety recall.

We recently bought this vehicle a few weeks ago. Since we’ve had it I have been noticing a strong smell of burning engine coolant. I have looked at similar models of the 2021 Range Rover sports and they do have recalls for issues with the engine coolant system. I assume this is the same problem the phev Range Rover sport is having. Today I have a low engine coolant message pop up on the dash.

Vehicle: 2010 Land Rover Range Rover Sport VIN: [XXX] Issue: A safety recall repair previously performed on my vehicle has failed, recreating the original safety hazard the recall was intended to fix. Details: My vehicle was subject to a recall involving [rear spoiler detachment risk]. The recall repair was “performed “ without proof by Land Rover of Cincinnati in Aug 2023. As of April 2025, the same issue has reoccurred. Specifically: The spoiler detached while driving on interstate 75. (This spoiler never detached before they “fixed” it. - This created a serious safety hazard coming undone in the highway. It actually got a semi trucks front number as he crushed over it..,the semi driver did not stop to report it though. Concern: This indicates the recall remedy may have been improperly performed or is ineffective. I am being told I must pay out of pocket $6500 to fix an issue that should have been resolved under a federally mandated safety recall. Request: I am requesting investigation into: 1) Whether the recall repair procedure is adequate 2) Whether this repair was properly completed 3) Whether other vehicles may be affected by failed recall remedies Dealer: Land Rover Location: Cincinnati OH INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The contact owns a 2022 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the message "Electrical Battery Charging Fault" was displayed, and the battery warning light was illuminated. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V248000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where the alternator was replaced, and the vehicle was able to start; however, the mechanic determined that the failure was related to an unknown converter. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 61,000.

The steering wheel locks during left turns and then suddenly releases, while the onboard computer has generated a suspension error code and automatically lowered the vehicle for safety.

While driving, the steering begins to bind and resist when turning, especially to the left. The wheel will “catch” and then suddenly release, causing a jerking motion and loss of smooth steering control. This creates a serious safety concern because the steering does not respond consistently. During the same event, the air suspension system lowered the vehicle into a safety mode without driver input. The suspension would not raise back up, and the dashboard displayed suspension warnings. The vehicle lowered itself immediately after the steering bind occurred. These symptoms match the same failure pattern described in the recall for 2014–2017 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models involving front suspension/steering knuckle issues and steering safety concerns. Even though my 2013 model year is not included in the recall, it is experiencing the same steering binding and suspension safety‑mode behavior. This issue creates a risk of loss of steering control and unsafe vehicle handling. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether the recall should be expanded to include the 2013 model year.

The contact owns a 2019 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65-70 MPH, the contact believed that the battery warning light was illuminated before the vehicle shut off. The steering wheel became inoperable. The contact was able to pull over to the median, where an independent mechanic attempted to restart the vehicle, but the vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to VEX European, where an unknown diagnostic result was retrieved, and the vehicle was repaired. The contact later became aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V248000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) online and associated the failure with the recall; however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 72,000.

As I was driving along a red light came on and within 20 minutes my whole car , electronics and everything shut down on the turnpike and I could barely get off the road and was scared to death It was completely DEAD. The DC/DC converter went out. While driving [XXX], all the warning lights came on, no abs, no front collision warning and all other safety warnings lights flashed. Immediately after the lights came on vehicle completely shut down while driving leaving me stranded in the street in Greenwood, AR. I had my vehicle towed to the dealership. Land Rover was already aware of the DC/DC converter issue but told me it was the battery which I paid to have replaced. I drove my vehicle home from the dealership. After arriving home my vehicle would not lock. I contacted the dealership and was advised to bring it back in when they had an appt in 3 weeks. I could not drive my vehicle due to not being able to lock it. While driving the vehicle to the dealership to get repaired because it would not lock, my vehicle shut down this time leaving me stuck in a blind spot on a rural highway (55mph speed limit) with no where to pull over due to deep drainage ditches on the shoulder. For two hours I had to wave at vehicles letting them know there was a dangerous hazard in the road (my vehicle) while waiting for the tow truck. My vehicle was again towed to the dealership, 126 miles away. It was at this time I was advised by the service advisor later confirmed by the General Manager, Land Rover had an ongoing problem with the DC/DC converters. My vehicle has been at the dealership since February 9, 2025 because they do not have the DC/DC converter available. The dealership does not provide loaner vehicles. I have since researched the internet and found numerous articles and other complaints regarding the DC/DC converters going out in Land Rover vehicles. - #11733598April 24, 2026FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
The Jaguar range Rover dealership refused to fix the safety recall on my 2012 Range Rover. My car had been at the dealership JLR Midlothian VA since March 20,2026. They stated that there was no loaner car until April 13, 2026, possibly. Brian was the senior advisor sharing the information. I rented a car from Hertz rental in Fredericksburg VA for the initial date appt of March 13, 2026. I had a family emergency and informed Brian. On April 20, 2026 I visited the dealership to learn the status of fixing the recall issue of of fuel flange to be told by Jeff that Mike the Service Manager refused to correct and replace the safety recall part. BArian who initially did intake on March 13th was not on active duty recall and the case was sent to another advisor Josh, Josh was not in the day of April 20,2026. Josh telephoned me the next day stating the same that my car was not repaired not would it be according to service Manager Mike. They have had my car for 30 days and never told me ethat information before. I have been charged over $800 in rental fees that I had asked the manufacturer/and or dealership since they could not give me a car while my car is in their possession. Please help me I still have this rental car as of April 24, 2026 and on for transportation.. My car was drive able. It was running hot so I had the car towed to the dealership.

Previous recall repair on rear spoiler falling off did not work and it is falling off again. Dealer and manufacturer will not re-repair the manufacturers defect nor their work, leaving the hazard unaddressed. Sees below. NHTSA, Please be advised that Jaguar Land Rover North America is not adhering to the required National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s official recall, 21V635000, where the rear spoiler falls off due to a manufacturers design defect and potentially can cause a serious accident, injury or even a fatality at highway speeds. The vehicle was previously fixed under recall, but that fix failed. VIN: [XXX] I have been advised by the owner/manager of Land Rover of the Treasure Coast that it is more important that they get reimbursed prior to fixing the defect, despite the safety of others on the road. This needs to be investigated. My concerns are: 1. Did Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) hoodwink NHTSA into a cheap, non-lasting fix just to satisfy the liability and recall requirement? If so, NHTSA should reissue another recall to recheck the previous recall to verify the fix was adequate and either do it again or develop another solution, bringing those affected vehicles in again for additional work. This is especially true since JD Power and other reputable car statistical reviews consistently rate this brand towards the bottom of reliability and repair costs. This historical point demonstrates why the NHTSA should not trust JLR. 2. How important is public safety? If a safety recall was important enough to be issued in the first place, how is it that a follow up repair for the same recall isn’t addressed? Why isn’t there a readily available avenue for reporting this shortcoming on the NHTSA website. Can anyone explain how if a safety recall campaign was important enough to be issued in the first place, why is it not if the same issue fails again, or if the approved resolution was inadequate?
