My vehicle is subject to open recall N627 regarding the crankcase ventilation assembly. I brought the vehicle to my authorized dealer to have this recall performed. The dealer confirmed the recall applies to my vehicle but informed me that the required replacement part has been on backorder and unavailable for approximately 4 months. As a result, the recall repair has not been completed and my vehicle remains in an unrepaired, potentially unsafe condition. I am filing this complaint because the manufacturer has failed to make the remedy part available within a reasonable time, leaving an open safety recall unresolved for an extended period. I am requesting that NHTSA look into the delay in parts availability for this recall and press the manufacturer for a timely resolution. There are exhaust fumes in the Cabin. This has been going on since May of 2026. Multiple different repairs have been made. I still smell exhaust fumes on my clothing after driving the vehicle with the windows up and the air conditioning on. I do not know if there are air quality safety issues including carbon monoxide coming into the vehicle when in it.

NHTSA Vehicle Safety Complaint Narrative I am submitting this complaint to report what I believe is a safety-related defect involving the power liftgate on my 2026 Range Rover Sport. Prior to the incident described below, the vehicle’s power liftgate had unexpectedly opened on two separate occasions after it had been closed. Although those earlier events did not result in damage, they caused concern because the liftgate opened without my intentionally activating it. On July 2, 2026, while exiting my parking space in my condominium garage, I closed the liftgate, entered the vehicle, and began driving forward. Without any intentional activation by me, the power liftgate suddenly opened while the vehicle was moving. The liftgate struck a low overhead pipe/obstruction in the garage, causing significant damage to the liftgate, rear tail lamp, and related components. At the time of the incident: * I was driving forward, not reversing. * I did not intentionally press the liftgate button, key fob, or use any gesture activation feature. * The second key fob was inside my residence and not in the vehicle. * The incident occurred in the morning, before my family departed for a trip to Washington, D.C. I reported the incident to the Land Rover dealership and Land Rover North America. An engineering review later concluded that the vehicle “may have been reversing” and referenced a timestamp that I believe is inconsistent with when the incident actually occurred. I have requested written explanations regarding these discrepancies, including the basis for the conclusion that the vehicle may have been reversing and whether the two previous unexpected liftgate opening events were considered during the investigation. To date, I have not received satisfactory written answers to those questions. My concern extends beyond the damage to my vehicle. A power liftgate opening unexpectedly while a vehicle is in motion presents a potential safety hazard.

It’s been close to 60 days since I was notified of a major safety issue recall that they do not have a repair for. I am terrified to drive my car on certain roads and therefore trapped so to speak in my town. How much time do they have to figure out the fix? They are not offering loaner cars or rentals, which is unacceptable.

I am reporting a severe safety hazard regarding the braking and electronic parking brake system on my 2023 Range Rover Sport. Whenever the vehicle is exposed to significant moisture—such as immediately following a standard car wash or after sitting parked outside in humid or rainy conditions for 1 to 2 days—the brakes severely lock and freeze in place overnight. When attempting to drive the vehicle the following morning, the brakes refuse to release. In order to get the vehicle to move in Reverse or Drive, I am forced to apply aggressive, heavy accelerator pressure to break the vehicle free. When the brakes finally snap open, it produces a violent clunking sound, and the vehicle suffers a sudden, uncontrollable surge of forward or backward momentum. This sudden vehicle surge creates an immediate crash and pedestrian safety hazard in tight driveways, garages, and parking lots. Forcing a heavy luxury SUV to experience high-engine RPMs just to disengage the parking brake is completely unacceptable and unsafe. The manufacturer dismisses this as "surface rust," but the level of mechanical binding and subsequent vehicle surge constitutes a dangerous design or component defect that requires a safety investigation.

The panoramic sunroof is cracked in several places impacting only the front half of the sunroof. There is not indication of a point of impact that would have caused the cracks. The vehicle is garage kept and has been driven minimally this summer. The were noticed on Saturday, July 18th when I opened the retractable interior roof. My safety is at risk because of the potential for the glass to fall from the roof while I'm driving. The panoramic sunroof has not been inspected by any one other than myself and my husband. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. There is no warning or indication that the panoramic sunroof is cracked.

Dear Land Rover Customer Care Team, I am writing to formally log a complaint regarding my 2023 Range Rover Sport (VIN: [XXX] and the unsatisfactory service experience I received at the Land Rover Alexandria dealership. My vehicle currently has only 16,000 miles on the odometer. Recently, the "Brake Pad Worn" warning light appeared on the dashboard. Upon bringing the vehicle to Land Rover Alexandria for inspection, the dealership advised that both the brake pads and brake rotors require a complete replacement, refusing to cover the service under warranty or offer any Goodwill assistance. Requiring a complete brake pad and rotor replacement at just 16,000 miles on a premium, luxury SUV is entirely unacceptable and well below reasonable manufacturing and safety expectations. A failure/wear of both pads and rotors at this extremely low mileage strongly points to one of the following underlying issues: A manufacturing/part defect in the brake friction material or rotors. An electronic or mechanical system issue (such as sticking calipers, torque vectoring drag, or electronic parking brake binding) causing excessive, premature dragging and wear. When I requested that this issue be evaluated under warranty or submitted for Manufacturer Goodwill support, Land Rover Alexandria flatly refused and insisted that I pay out-of-pocket for a full pad and rotor replacement. As a Land Rover owner, I expect the vehicle’s components to meet premium quality and safety standards. Replacing rotors and pads at 16,000 miles is not standard "wear and tear"—it indicates a defect or system malfunction. I am requesting the following resolutions: A formal review of this case by JLR Corporate. Full or partial coverage (Goodwill assistance / Warranty claim) for the replacement of the brake pads and rotors. A thorough technical inspection by JLR to confirm there is no underlying mechanical or electronic defect causing premature brake drag on this vehicle. I request a prompt response INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION AC

I am filing this complaint to formally report two separate incidents of DCDC converter failure in my Land Rover Range Rover Sport — the identical defect described in NHTSA Safety Recall 26V248 — and to request that NHTSA investigate why my vehicle has been excluded from that recall despite exhibiting the same failure mode. INCIDENT 1 – [XXX] While driving, my vehicle displayed a red “Stop Safely Electrical Fault Detected” warning message and subsequently lost motive power, coasting to a stop in Bellevue, WA. I was unable to safely move the vehicle out of active traffic. I called 911 and emergency responders were dispatched to block the lane behind my vehicle to prevent a collision. The vehicle was towed to Jaguar Land Rover Bellevue, an authorized Land Rover dealership, where the DCDC converter was diagnosed as the cause of failure. Repair documentation is on file. INCIDENT 2 – [XXX] The same failure recurred. My vehicle again displayed the “Stop Safely Electrical Fault Detected” warning and lost motive power while in motion in Chicago, IL. The vehicle was towed a second time to Jaguar Land Rover Chicago, where the same DCDC converter defect was documented and addressed. Repair documentation is on file. In both incidents, my vehicle came to a stop in an active traffic lane with no ability to self-recover, creating a direct risk of a rear-end collision that could have seriously injured or killed me, my family, and other road users. When I check my VIN against the recall, my vehicle does not appear as an included unit. I have received no owner notification letter from JLR despite the recall report stating owner notifications were planned for on or before June 12, 2026. I am requesting that NHTSA determine whether my vehicle meets that criteria and was incorrectly excluded, or whether the recall population should be expanded. I have attached Dealership repair orders and diagnostic reports from both incidents confirming DCDC issue. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 5

I bought this car in 2024 and after 3,000 miles it was unrepairable. The first incident, I was driving and the car started flashing and beeping, telling me to pull over and exit the vehicle immediately. I brought it to the dealership and after a few days they returned it and said it was a software update. The next day, while driving to work, the vehicle again started flashing lights and beeping and told me to Pull Over and Exit the Vehicle immediately. The vehicle continued to flash and beep until I could pull over and stop, which unfortunately I was on the freeway, in between barriers and had to drive 17 more miles with it in panic mode. Almost 4 months later, I got the vehicle back and again, after driving a short time, I experienced a TOTAL electrical failure. The brakes, power steering, hill descent, etc ALL stopped working! After being in the shop a little over a month, again, I was told it was a software update and sent on my way. That night, while driving home, the Auto Brake Hold ENGAGED while I was driving and my vehicle jerked back and forth continually. Again it went to the dealership, and again I was told it was due to a software update and that is now how Land Rover had programmed it and I just was not used to it. When I tried to explain how I could not drive because of the continuous jerking, I was told there was nothing they can do.

VEHICLE: 2023 Land Rover Range Rover Sport HSE, Original owner since February 2023. NATURE OF DEFECT: Persistent and unresolved coolant loss from the engine cooling system, with evidence suggesting leaked coolant is contacting hot engine components and creating a potential fire hazard. CHRONOLOGY: Beginning in February 2026, the vehicle began displaying recurring "low coolant" warnings on the instrument cluster. The vehicle has been presented to an authorized Jaguar Land Rover dealership three times for warranty diagnosis and repair of this complaint. On each of the three visits, the dealership replaced a single cooling system component (a hose or O-ring). After each repair, the low coolant warning returned within approximately two weeks. The most recent repair, completed on May 26 2026, involved replacement of an O-ring on a lower coolant hose that had been previously serviced under JLR safety recall N785. The vehicle was returned to me on Thursday, May 28 2026. On Tuesday afternoon, June 2 2026 (approximately five days after the most recent repair), I detected a distinct burning odor from the engine compartment while the vehicle was operating. On Wednesday morning, June 3 2026, I visually inspected the coolant expansion tank and confirmed the coolant level had again dropped below the minimum mark. SAFETY CONCERN: The combination of recurring coolant loss and a burning odor originating from the engine compartment is consistent with coolant contacting hot engine components — most likely the turbocharger, exhaust manifold, or associated heat shielding. This is the same failure mode that prompted JLR safety recall N785 (NHTSA Campaign 23V-221) on 2019-2022 Range Rover Sport PHEV vehicles, in which leaking coolant onto the turbocharger heat shield was identified by the manufacturer as creating an increased risk of fire. My 2023 Range Rover Sport HSE is not currently included within the scope of recall N785

Component/System: 48V Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle (MHEV) system including the DC/DC Converter (subject of active recall D126), Battery Energy Control Module (BECM), Telematics Control Unit (TCU), Battery Charge Control Module (BCCM), and Vehicle Immobilizer Module (VIM). All components are available for inspection upon request. What happened: My 2021 Range Rover Sport HSE MHEV (VIN: [XXX] ) experienced a complete no-start condition after sitting for approximately one week. Prior to towing the vehicle to Hendrick Jaguar Land Rover Charlotte, I performed a live data diagnostic using a Land Rover specific iCarsoft LR V3 diagnostic tool which confirmed the 48V hybrid battery at 17.86% state of charge critically below the minimum threshold required to authorize a start sequence. The TCU, BCCM, and VIM all showed not fitted simultaneously a known cascade effect of a critically depleted 48V MHEV system. Recall D126 for DC/DC Converter failure was confirmed on my vehicle. The DC/DC converter manages power transfer between the 48V and 12V systems. Its failure directly caused the 48V battery depletion and subsequent cascade module failures. Safety risk: The vehicle became completely immobile with no warning. The immobilizer went offline preventing the vehicle from starting, stranding the occupant in a parking lot. A vehicle that shuts down without warning and cannot be restarted poses a serious safety risk to the driver and other road users. Additionally the DC/DC converter failure affecting the MHEV system represents a risk of sudden loss of hybrid assist during driving. FIRST ISSUE-THIS REPORT - LOSS OF POWER / ELECTRICAL FAULT (4/10/26) On April 10, 2026, I backed out of a parking space into a drive lane in a commercial parking lot. As the vehicle was rolling, it suddenly lost power. I attempted to restart the vehicle, but it would not start. The vehicle continued rolling backward into the intersection. Two warning messages appeared on the dashboard -"Stop Safely/Electrical Fault Detected" "Stop Safely – Loss of Drive".Photos attached. Because the vehicle could not be restarted or moved, it remained disabled in the intersection for approx two hours. The vehicle had to be towed to the dealership. When the vehicle was taken to the dealership, I was later told that no problem could be found. The dealership reportedly ran a computer diagnostic test & stated that nothing was wrong with the vehicle. They performed routine maintenance, charged more than $900, & returned the vehicle to me without identifying or repairing the cause of the loss-of-power event. SECOND ISSUE – INTERMITTENT SENSOR FAILURES - The vehicle's front & rear sensors operate intermittently. I scheduled a service appointment for May 20, 2026, to address this issue, but I was forced to cancel a I did not have transportation available. THIRD ISSUE (reported to nhtsa.gov) BRAKE SLAMING/SUDDEN STOP (5/2/26) On 5/2/26, the vehicle experienced a brake slamming/sudden stop while I was driving through an intersection. Following this incident, I developed neck pain & headaches. The vehicle was towed to the dealership for a second time. During discussion with the dealership, I was informed that the April 10, 2026 service visit had been documented as relating to a "check engine" light. I want to make clear that the warning messages displayed during the April 10 incident were not a check-engine light. The messages displayed were: • "Stop Safely–Electrical Fault Detected"• "Stop Safely–Loss of Drive" My research found reports of other RR owners experiencing the same issue.

We recently bought this vehicle a few weeks ago. Since we’ve had it I have been noticing a strong smell of burning engine coolant. I have looked at similar models of the 2021 Range Rover sports and they do have recalls for issues with the engine coolant system. I assume this is the same problem the phev Range Rover sport is having. Today I have a low engine coolant message pop up on the dash.

The Keyless Vehicle Module security system on my 2023 Range Rover Sport deactivated both of my smart keys simultaneously without any warning or alert. The vehicle locked itself while both keys were inside and completely disabled them both at the same time, leaving my vehicle totally inoperable. I had no way to start or operate my vehicle. There was no warning light, no alert on the dashboard before this happened, and no information provided at purchase that this could ever occur. The only message displayed on the dashboard after the fact was Refer to Handbook Smart Key Deactivated. I am a single father with dependents and this is my only vehicle. I was left completely stranded at my home with no transportation for multiple days. This is a known and documented design defect affecting all Jaguar Land Rover vehicles manufactured from 2022 onwards. The vehicle has been inspected by Land Rover Alexandria dealer located at [XXX] . The dealer confirmed the issue and quoted me $3,000 to replace the Keyless Vehicle Module hardware. After I filed a BBB complaint and contacted Land Rover corporate the price was reduced to $640. My vehicle is a 2023 model and is still under full factory warranty. Land Rover corporate has an open case on this matter under case number XXX No other vehicle manufacturer allows their own security system to completely strand the owner with no warning and no safeguard. This is a serious safety defect because it can strand drivers in dangerous locations at any time without notice INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Rear seat in 2025 Range Rover Sport closed on my arm while returning to upright position, trapping me with no accessible manual release. Required assistance to be freed. Resulted in numbness and ongoing nerve/tendon pain. While parked in my driveway, I activated the electronic control to raise the left rear passenger seat from a folded position. As I reached in to remove an object (umbrella) to prevent obstruction, the seat closed on my right forearm and elbow, trapping my arm. I was unable to free myself. The seat would not move, and there was no accessible manual or emergency release within reach. The only release control was located near the rear liftgate, which I could not access while trapped. I called for help but could not be heard due to nearby landscaping equipment. A worker attempted to manually free the seat but was unsuccessful. I was ultimately freed when my husband activated the electronic release from the rear cargo area. Following the incident, my arm and fingers were numb. I continue to experience ongoing tendon and nerve pain in my forearm and elbow. Rear seat lacks an accessible emergency/manual release within reach of passenger area. Seat did not stop or reverse when encountering resistance, creating a risk of entrapment and serious injury.

2023 Range Rover Sport (VIN: [XXX] ). Vehicle's own anti-theft security system simultaneously deactivated both smart keys after they were left inside the locked vehicle. This is a known design defect across all JLR vehicles from 2022 onwards. Vehicle is now completely inoperable. Dealer is quoting $3,000 for a new Keyless Vehicle Module (KVM) and two new keys. Owner was never warned at purchase that this could occur. This leaves owners completely stranded with no fix available without paying thousands of dollars. This is a safety issue as it can strand drivers in unsafe locations. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
