All dashboard lights turned on and were orange during two separate instances. During both instances I went to brake and nothing happened. Eventually the brake finally engaged. On one of the instances the brakes took ~5 seconds to re-engage while coming to a traffic light stop. There were two pedestrians that I almost hit before they re-engaged.

Smell of oil burning on exhaust manifold. Inspected by dealer service and found oil leaks at head gasket at rear cylinder bank. Dealer service instructed me not to drive vehicle any further and provided a loaner vehicle. Continued driving with oil leak could have resulted in engine fire. Vehicle is not drivable at present and is at dealer awaiting repairs. I am in possession of a letter from Kia to owners of these vehicles that the head gaskets are a known issue and Kia has extended the warranty on this engine.

The paint on the body of the car is chipping, and peeling away. There are large patches of paint missing. While driving down the road paint falls off. The paint comes off randomly; allowing the environment to be affected. There is rust forming on the locations the paint, and primer have peeled away at. The vehicle has not been inspected at this time. No symptoms until the paint, and primer started coming off in chunks. I have seen several other 2014, white, Kia Sorentos with paint and primer peeling up. As well as I have found several others online experiencing the same exact issue.

I have been the first owner of my Kia Sorento car and it has always been well maintained. The oil change has always been done on time. I was driving on the highway going 65mph when out of nowhere the check engine started flashing, a rattling noise started, and I noticed it wouldn’t accelerate. There was never any warning lights of any kind to warn me of something malfunctioning. I had a mechanic check it and said there was an oil loss and affected the engine and I would have to replace it. He mentioned that there has been a lot of issues about the engine failing in Kias but that there is still no recall for it. I have read so many articles of this being true and Kia should fix this! It is definitely a hazard driving a Kia car that does not warn you of the oil loss causing a failed engine.

Vehicle's rear end bolts rusted through had to replace the rear-end, we also had a 2004 that the frame rusted and broke in half, and the rear-end rusted out on it too. It was said it was caused by a design flaw that wouldn't allow the water to drain properly. They have recalls on it in the uk and other countries.

The vehicle started knocking. We took it to Kia and they share saying we needed an upgrade part that is on a safety”notice” and not a recall. It’s to prevent engine failure. They refuse to put in the part because they said the engine is already failing. They said we need to pay 6k. The best part is that we took the vehicle in last year (2023) for the hitch and the anti theft upgrade and KIA didn’t tell us about this feel part. Why wouldn’t we get the free upgrade on the engine???? They are not telling consumers and it doesn’t come up when you search by VIN.

The engine gave out while driving on the highway going 65-70 mph on the left lane ,vehicle started shaking and slowing down really loud cars started going around luckily I was able to get to the right breakdown lane as it stalled. I could have caused a major accident on the highway, I restarted the car it shakes as I drove it slowly to the exit at every light the car stalled when I stopped. Brought to the dealer they confirmed the engine is gone , no prior warning of any issue. Car isn’t even paid off til next month! They state only option is to put a new engine which is lots of money.

A notice was mailed to me on [XXX] Recall #[XXX], advising that the hydraulic electronic control unit may experience an electrical short circuit, which can result in engine compartment fire. Park the vehicle outdoors and away from other vehicles or structures until the recall has been performed. The malfunction indicator light appeared approximately a month and a half ago, and I contacted my KIA dealer who advised me that I must have the car towed to their location at my expense They billed me over $200, plus the towing. The recall has still not been addressed. This is an extreme problem for me. I live in Florida and have a very unhealthy relative out of state but feel that it is unsafe to drive my vehicle far from home which has caused me and my family extreme anxiety. I have received no updates from KIA since the initial 11/14/23 letter. Not being able to drive my car and feel safe has been an extreme inconvenience. I also live in an area where it is extremely difficult to park away from my house, other houses, or cars. KIA should be held accountable to their customers, and I request your assistance. Thank you. I purchased 2017 Kia Sorento in 2020. I have to put 2 quarts of oil in it once a week. I noticed it around 2022. I get the oil changed on the regular. The engine is starting to rattle, and my oil light does not indicate when the oil is low. So, I have to check it constantly. The under-carriage rattles excessively. I've taken the suv to dealership and they are telling me that they cannot find anything wrong with it. I am at a loss. Plus, I am still paying a note on the suv.
