I first encountered the “death wobble” at 18,000 miles. It happened to both me and my husband within a hundred miles of each incident. I took my car in for an oil change and talked to the technician and he said that he could try the fix that Jeep put forth to attempt to fix it, but it never really fixed the issue. Well, it was not that bad and happened infrequently and life moves on. Fast forward to about 30,000 miles, the last month and now the wobble happens any time I’m at speeds over 60 and hit a tiny bump in the road. Last night, it threw me into the lane next to me and if there had been a car there, it would have been terrible accident. I drove home at 50mph on the freeway! It was terrifying. I am taking it to the dealership tomorrow and I’ll see what they have to say now. This is so dangerous and scary. It need to be corrected.

I had the 95B battery recall performed at my Jeep Dealer and 2 days later I had a sudden loss of power and and sudden breakdown of the vehicle requiring towing to the Jeep dealer (Orlando Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Orlando, FL 4101 W Colonial Dr, Orlando, FL 32808 Phone: (407) 299-1120) on [XXX]. They have not been able to give us any answers other than the hybrid battery needs replacement and over 2 weeks later they are giving us no answers or solutions. I went to Crowley dealership in Bristol CT for the 95B recall fix. I do not believe it was done correctly as my jeep had not been driven at all. I have a picture of the mileage upon drop off and it matched the mileage at pickup. Jeep and Mopar are also not recognizing the recall as being fixed and still shows it as active. It was also strange that I received a call to come get a loaner vehicle as my Jeep would not be ready (drop off Sunday night, call received for rental Tuesday afternoon) and as I pulled into the parking lot, I received a voicemail my Jeep WAS in fact ready for pickup. I am worried this was done incorrectly and being [XXX] with other children / people constantly in my car, I am worried for our safety. My name is [XXX] . I am part of the the Jeep 4XE community. I have been heavily invested in the 4XE community from the very beginning. I have the first customer owned Wrangler 4XE, I run a YouTube channel with over 9,000 subscribers and a Facebook group with over 23,000 members. I have several concerns about the 4XE and the way Jeep is possibly mishandling safety issues. I would like to open a dialog with someone at the NHTSA to voice some of these concerns. There has been a lingering battery fire issue that Jeep has now addressed with two recalls. Stories of dealership mishandling are very common. We know if one Wrangler 4XE fire that has happened after the most recent 95B recall. There is also a high failure rate of a component that is called the Electric Coolant Heater. This item is needed for defrost functionality when the vehicle is in electric mode. Many of us in the 4XE community have come to believe that Jeep should offer highly extended or lifetime warranties on this part since it is safety related and has been so problematic. I would like to assemble a team of 4XE owners to consult with the NHTSA on the issues we are seeing. We do not believe Jeep is handling these issues in a manner that is putting the customer safety first and would like to see how we can work together to protect the owners. Received regenerative braking must be serviced notice, followed by loss of motive control. Push accelerator, would not accelerate and actually rolled backwards, multiple notification lights came on, car started to move after 5 seconds, happened again. pulled over to turn on/off car, car would NOT turn on. tried several times and resolved to get it towed. After 5 min, tried one more time to start the car and it did turn on. Functioned normally. Drove to dealership and dealership diagnosis is nothing wrong, dealership now working with Chevrolet engineers.

Recent recall 95B was performed December 15th, 2024 on my Jeep 4xe. The vehicle passed the road test involved with the safety recall to detect a defective high voltage battery. On December 26th, within 100 miles of the recall test being performed, the vehicle cruise control involuntarily shut off, check engine light illuminated and the vehicle lost power on the freeway. We were able to return home with the vehicle lurching while driving, having erratic acceleration from a stop and pushing through braking. The issues continued a few days later when delivering to the Jeep service center and the Jeep died in the service lane and had to be pushed the rest of the way to the service bay. The "fix'' that Stellantis has provided seems to simply later detect the battery issue that the recall test was designed to detect under their care during the test procedure. There are numerous other 4xe owners that I am aware of that are having the same post-test failures and motive power losses in traffic soon after their vehicle 'passed' the battery test. This 'solution' is causing a dangerous situation for the owners and the general motoring public. The Jeep has since been reevaluated and determined that the battery that the recall was intended to detect is indeed defective and is being replaced.

I took my jeep into the dealer for my 4xe 95b recall. They did not show me pass or fail my car went in on no battery 2 1/2 hrs later they said my car was done. I do not believe they completed the drive cycle test to show pass or fail my odometer reading was only a few miles more then when I dropped it off and no battery charge gas gage hadn't moved. There is no way they did a complete drive cycle. They didn't charge it to over 75% they did not drive it until it was a warm enough temp to run the test. I got nothing but a receipt stating recall software update was done and drive test done. Nothing about if it passed or failed. And under my jeep app they put miscellaneous vehicle inspections. The recall still shows on my car.

After taking my jeep 4xe in for the 95B recall I drove around 50 miles and the check engine light came on. Once home vehicle would not turn on or charge. Error on dash said “charging system error.” Next day the vehicle would turn on be experience extreme slowness after stopping with bursts of acceleration. The accceleration and breaking system were extremely jerky and I felt like I didn’t know how the car would respond when accelerating which was dangerous.

Metal chunks found in engine oil, and as were not metal powder swirl, shavings, or specs, possibly from bottom engine crankshaft. At the crank pulley, with the belt off, I could feel nudge by hand from the middle, for an engine component with max specified endplay 0.012 inches, or fraction of a millimeter. An existing manufacturer recall, and not a safety recall, for this 2021 Jeep Wrangler 2.0L Turbo is inspection for loose bolts for water pump inlet. This vehicle will not be available for inspection requests, because it is still not, and waiting to be, diagnosed as the dealer could not necessarily hear an engine issue. I have heard it knock, like a rumbling V8 and turbo whined, and recently I decided to strain the old and knocking oil that I kept and discovered metal. There was something wrong all along. Top engine, with good gas mileage, has been fine. The safety concern to this vehicle is metal in oil to possibly enter top engine and create sudden or instant engine seizure while in operation. The safety of driver or others could be at risk. The safety concern to this vehicle is also the detioration of engine components since they appear under the sole discretion of this motorized vehicle. This means, no other factor known to the driver of this vehicle by which rate of engine detioration has occurred. An indicating observation to be made into this vehicle's safety is the endplay of the crankshaft. This vehicle is nearly 97,000 miles odometer. The endplay seems very excessive, causing me to speculate on original factory fitment and installation during assembly. What determinations into a non-safety recall of loose water pump bolts might emerge as consideration into engine interior deterioration, as rate of this deterioration appear under sole vehicle discretion and remain unknown to the driver. Insufficient cooling is known to cause buildup in any engine, this vehicle has burped coolant air. No warning lights in the dash was seen.

On [XXX] I bought a 2022 Jeep wrangler 392 from Ron Tonkin Jeep in Milwaukie, OR. It was certified pre owned and still under full manufacturer warranty. I drove the car for one day then parked it at Portland airport before flying to Chicago. A week later while still out of town, I received a call from the parking lot manager that my car spontaneously caught on fire last night and violently burned also damaging 3 cars near it. The fire department came and put out the fire and said the fire was caused by “mechanical failure, malfunction”. Jeep has refused to cover this claim because they said the cause of the fire cannot be determined. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the manual transmission failed to operate as designed, and the vehicle intermittently hesitated while shifting gear. The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure or determine the cause of the failure. The dealer contacted the manufacturer about replacing the transmission under warranty; however, the manufacturer denied the request. The vehicle remained with the dealer unrepaired. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000.

On 12/06/2024 while driving on highway around 65 mph, hear loud bang and vehicle shut off (no warnings). Thanks to quick action of drive alongside, was able to get to side of highway without accident. Would restart but would not go into gear. Upon towing to dealer, discovered catastrophic failure of rear shaft and rear differential. Drive shaft broke off the differential. Dealer waiting on back ordered parts before they can determine if problem was by driveshaft, differential, or some other part of the drivetrain.

The vehicle tends to lurch/jerk forward during various driving scenarios. The most frightening is when you are approaching a stop light/sign, and there is a car in front of you when this happens. I have had several experiences of almost hitting the vehicle at the light/stop sign.

2022 Jeep 4xe Rubicon, 13,000 Miles - At about 5,000 miles I first noticed an occasional wobble in the front end at speeds around 50mph or above. The wobble has progressively gotten worse and at around 9,000 miles has developed into a full blown "death wobble". At 60mph or above it is most likely to happen. When is does happen it is started by a small bump or depression (smaller than a pothole will do it) the front end of the vehicle shakes violently and the only way to stop it is to let my foot off of the gas and let it coast. At around 40mph it will stop. Hitting the brakes increases the shaking. This is scary and unpleasant and causes confusion to drivers who are behind as I try to make my way to the side of the road. I took it to the dealership and they balanced the tires and charged me $120.00. This improved it for about 2 weeks and then the wobble returned just as before.
