SERVICE BRAKES
Total Brake Failure in 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with less than 1800 Miles [XXX] , I was driving my new 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, with less than 1800 miles on it, North on [XXX] in St. Michael, MN, traveling at approximately 30+ mph. I had signaled to turn E on [XXX] . I turned on my signal and began moving slightly to the right to get into the right turn lane, depressing my brake pedal at the same time. The brake pedal with little downward travel (an inch or less?) jammed and would not allow me to depress it any further. I had zero braking ability. A white car heading West on [XXX] , seeing I had my turn signal on and was moving to the right, began to pull out to make the LH turn onto [XXX] and go south. When my brakes totally failed, I swerved violently to the left, as my subconscious mind apparently indicated I was traveling too fast to make the RH turn. The white car continued to enter [XXX] , and by some miracle, I managed to make it around that vehicle as I swerved into the oncoming lane that, thankfully, had no approaching traffic. I continued N on [XXX] and tried several times to depress the brake pedal to stop but could not depress it more than a tiny bit, my wife yelling frantically, asking me what I was doing. I said, “the brakes don’t work!” It was as though the brake pedal had a brick beneath it, even though it did not have any obstruction. With the engine still running, I glided to a stop just short of [XXX], pulling over to the curb as I halted. Still, I could not depress the brake, so I put the vehicle in “park.” The engine still running and being on the main road just short of the turn into the housing development, I thought I should put it in “drive” and go around the corner for safety. While driving on 4 lane, at 55mph Jeep Grand Cherokee shifts into N very rough, steer to shoulder of hwy - dash reads “vehicle speed to high to shift” - and kills motor. Happened 3 times last night (12/3/24 at 7:15pm- outdoor temp was 21) Very, very hazardous to say the least!!! What is happening here? At the time this happened- no warning at all! Jeep has a serious problem with others complaining about this same issue- they have gotten no answers.

The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle shut off with the "Service Transmission - Restart in Park with Vehicle at Zero Speed" message displayed on the instrument panel. The contact stated that vehicle restarted after several attempts and resumed normal operation. The vehicle had been taken to several independent mechanics and the dealer; however, the failure could not be duplicated nor was the cause of the failure determined. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact was unable to charge the vehicle. There was an unknown electrical failure. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact had to use fuel to operate the vehicle. The contact was concerned about the vehicle catching on fire while parked or while driving. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V720000 (Electrical System); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 2,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

my 2023 hybrid Jeep Grand Cherokee had a safety recall issued 9/27/24 (B9A NHTSA 23v-787) due to the high voltage battery pack risking fire. The recall advises not to charge the car until the recall repair is completed. This essentially makes my vehicle 1/2 operational for the past 2 months. I have called the FCA Recall assistance Center on 11/22, 11/27 and 12/3. Each time I have called I have been assured that a "case manager" would call me to address my concerns but have yet to receive any call or email. It is unacceptable that FCA can sell me a hybrid car that can only operate on gas for over two months with no projected date when repairs can be completed. Additionally, they refuse to address my concerns when contacted

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
When I accelerate the fuel pedal to the floor the more it cuts out it did that before the recall on the high pressure fuel pump and it's doing it after supposedly it was replaced. The dealership replaced injectors, fuel rails, fuel filters, all new tubing kit, and most important high pressure fuel pump, upon inspection the dealership only replaced High fuel pressure pump and did not perform the work this is the second time I informed you about this issue. I am so highly concerned not only from my safety but safety of others if they've done this to me the dealership will do it to anyone. I hired an attorney to investigate until these illegal activities and I will be going in front of the Attorney General on this matter. I have a highly concerned issue with this vehicle the admissions is terrible the soot that goes into that engine it's ruining it at 138,000 miles my biggest issue is the exhaust gets in the vehicle with all the windows shut and I get sick on that DEF fluid that burns out the exhaust somehow someway it's getting in the vehicle and it's getting me sick I've already brought this to the attention of the manufacturer and he said the motors are junk and they should be recalled immediately this is my second complaint and no results

The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4XE. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH, he was alerted by another driver that there was a fire underneath the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated prior to the failure. The contact stated that smoke and flames were coming from underneath the middle of the passenger’s side of the vehicle. The contact stated that the fire had started underneath the vehicle where the Hybrid-Electric battery was located. The contact stated that several minutes later the vehicle App indicated a failure, notifying the contact that a service of the electrical system was needed, and the vehicle electrical system was inoperable. The contact stated that the entire front of the vehicle was burned. No injuries were sustained. The Galveston Fire Department was notified of the fire and was able to extinguish the flames. A Fire Department report was filed however, was not yet provided to the contact. The vehicle was towed to Paddack's Wrecker & Heavy Transport - Heavy Duty Towing and Semi-Trailer Tractor Towing Service and was being held for the Insurance Company. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The Insurance Company had not yet deemed the vehicle was destroyed. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 24V720000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) and 24E080000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); however, the VIN was not included in the recalls. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 4,333.

Our Jeep will shift into neutral at random while driving. This has happened 5 times with in 2 years and twice on the same day. The most recent incident occurred on [XXX] while driving my wife and 3 week old daughter to Orange County. On this day, the Jeep shifted into neutral twice. The first time it happen, we were heading to Orange County and I was on the offramp when it shifted and I was able to pull over safely. My wife has experienced this previously and told me to turn off the car and wait a minute and turn it it back on. I was able to turn the car on and got to our destination. On our return home, it happened again while we were in the fast lane on the highway. I had to cross 5 lanes while the vehicle was in neutral during traffic. Once, we got to the side of the highway, I wasn't able to use the break as well. It felt like it was fighting me while pushing the break but we did eventually come to a stop. The jeep was not able to start back up like the first time and had to call for a tow truck. We have taken this Jeep 3 times to get inspected but all 3 times they couldn't duplicate the issue and gave us the keys back like nothing is wrong. We've taken it to a Chrysler dealership twice and a private one. There was never a warning lamp light whenever this occurred. The Jeep's defect poses a significant safety risk to myself, my infant daughter, my son, my wife, or whomever is in my car at the time and everyone else on the road. My feeling is that Chrysler won't do anything until its too late and someone is injured or a lost of life. I have reached out to them already and got a case number. Cylinder head gasket(s) has a leak. It limited my ability to speed up and keep up with traffic in a timely manner, requiring me to put on hazards forcing others to navigate around me causing a backlog of traffic and other potential hazards. I have had inspected by two different auto repair shops and both came to the same conclusion, they have also told me that they have seen this issue on the same make and model of my car and other surrounding years of the same make and model quite a bit. check engine light came on, and there was a sensor warning on the dash the day of the problem cropping up. Per the repair shops either this issue has been silently present in my car for some time or the leak in it is very aggressive due to the remaining volume of oil in my engine.

Software update was pushed on or around 11/22/2024. After update front collision system warning light on dash. Doors fail to auto lock when driving off. Options to toggle front pedestrian breaking now missing that would turn off the light. Jeep Facebook groups show multiple people with same year having the same problem after software update FCA-MY24.U29.42-PROD

My Jeep, when using adaptive cruise control, will occasionally apply emergency breaking when a vehicle passes alongside me in an adjacent lane in the same direction of travel. I’ve had other cars directly behind me when this happens and it appears to other drivers like I’m “break checking” them. Usually it’s triggered when the passing adjacent vehicle is a tractor trailer or a truck pulling a trailer. Furthermore, the actual early warning forward crash detection does not work at all. I have no warning lights alerting me of a malfunction.

The contact stated that her daughter reported that the entire seat bottom of the seat was charred and melted the plastic frame and the seat cover. The contact stated that the vehicle was towed back to the residence. Additionally, the contact stated that the seat heater had engaged independently, causing her daughter to place a blanket on the seat to safely drive the vehicle.
