First, after a trip of approximately 100 miles, the vehicle would not advance after stopping at a STOP sign. I had to shift from DRIVE to PARK and back to DRIVE before the vehicle would move. In the second case, again after a trip over 100 miles, primarily on the highway, the vehicle failed to shift out of first gear while the engine revved to over 7,000 RPM when I left an intersection. In that instance a warning light came up on the dash indicating RPMs in the red zone. Once again I had to pull over, put the vehicle in PARK and re-engage DRIVE before the vehicle would drive in a more normal fashion. It was the following day, when I entered the dealership for a service appointment, that the check engine light illuminated and the vehicle did not run smoothly. The service department determined it was a spark plug issue and claims the problem has been resolved. They also said this issue is fairly common on new (2026) Jeep Grand Cherokee models. There is less than 1,200 miles on the vehicle. I feel I was very lucky that the situation in both instances was relatively safe and there was minimal risk of injury, death and/or property damage. I have lost all confidence in the vehicle.

On 5/11/26 at approximately 7:40pm, I was driving a leased 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee in [XXX] , turning left at the busy intersection of [XXX] and [XXX] . I was in the outside lane of a double left-turn lane with a green left-turn arrow, while opposing traffic was also moving through the intersection in its own turn movement. In the center of the intersection, the vehicle suddenly activated Forward Collision Warning and then Auto Emergency Braking without warning, even though I was lawfully proceeding through the turn. The vehicle stopped abruptly and forcefully in the middle of the intersection, leaving my car stranded in active traffic. I braced for a rear-end collision, which surprisingly did not occur as there must not have been another car behind me After the sudden stop, I was unable to shift the vehicle back into Drive for several seconds. By the time I was able to move the car again, the light had turned red and other lanes of traffic were beginning to proceed. This created an immediate risk of a serious collision from cross traffic or vehicles approaching from behind. The force of the unexpected stop was strong enough to cause neck pain. By chance, no other vehicle struck my car, but this was a near-miss event with clear potential for severe injury or death. I no longer feel safe driving this vehicle. In addition, this vehicle has had multiple recalls and other issues, which heightens my concern that this may be part of a broader safety defect involving the Forward Collision Warning, Auto Emergency Braking, or related electronic control systems. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee can falsely detect a collision risk during a lawful left turn and improperly engage automatic braking or otherwise prevent the driver from promptly returning the vehicle to Drive. Relevant documentation can be provided, including VIN, mileage, service records, recall history, and any dealer inspection results INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.

To Whom It May Concern: I am writing to formally notify you of a serious and dangerous safety defect involving the vehicle I purchased from Carvana on February 2, 2026. On April 9, 2026, while driving on the highway at 70 MPH, my truck stopped abruptly after experiencing a critical wheel failure. Upon exiting the vehicle, I notice that all the lug nuts were missing. I immediately located a tow driver that confirmed what I observed. The tow company towed the vehicles to a Dodge mechanic in Paducah, KY. Upon inspection by a certified mechanic, I was informed that the wheel failure was caused by either a improperly installed loose or too tightened lug nuts, resulting in damage to the wheel hub and wheel assembly, which condition represents a severe safety hazard that could have resulted in catastrophic injury or death. Prior to the malfunction, there were no warning lamps or messages until the actual event. When purchased, Carvana represented that its vehicles undergo thorough inspections and are safe for operation. However, this incident demonstrates a clear failure in inspection, preparation, or mechanical servicing, including but not limited to: •Failure to ensure lug nuts were properly installed and secured •Failure to identify an obvious and critical safety issue •Delivery of a vehicle that was not roadworthy at the time of sale A wheel detachment risk is not a minor and or normal wear and tear as stated by Carvana's warranty company Silver Rock Warranty and Carvana Warranty support team. The malfunction was a fundamental safety failure that any reasonable inspection would have identified and corrected prior to sale.

There are parts in the engine that malfunctioned and have caused fluids to leak into the engine. This is causing the engine to fail and requiring replacement. This issue started last year for me personally. The car has been to 2 mechanics and they both have diagnosed the issue , and to fix it requires full engine replacement . It’s a safety issue because the engine can lock up and stop the car.

- #11736418May 7, 2026FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST
The Active Lane Management (ALM) and Auto Emergency Braking (AEB) systems on this 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe fail repeatedly while the vehicle is in motion at highway speeds. The defect began at 384 miles. The ALM system will silently disable itself, and the AEB system forces the vehicle to display an 'AEB Limited Functionality Service Required' warning. Following six distinct repair attempts, the authorized servicing dealer (Eide Chrysler) stated in writing via text message on March 5, 2026, that this is a 'known issue' and that FCA engineering currently has 'no fix' available. The manufacturer has attempted to dismiss the ongoing hardware failure as a resolved hybrid battery software recall, but the collision avoidance systems remain actively defective. Because the steering overcorrection and sudden loss of emergency braking present an immediate crash risk, the vehicle is unsafe to operate.

I recently purchased a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee and began experiencing serious issues almost immediately after taking possession of the vehicle. The vehicle has stalled unexpectedly while driving on multiple occasions, including during active driving conditions. It also has difficulty starting and has shut off without warning. The vehicle has already undergone multiple repairs within a short period of time, including work related to the radiator, spark plugs, and ignition coil. Despite these repairs, the issues continue. This creates a significant safety concern, as the vehicle becomes inoperable without warning, especially during daily highway driving. I rely on this vehicle for transportation, and it is currently unreliable and unsafe to operate.

I was driving my 2020 grand Cherokee limited 4x4 and it started to snow heavily so i was driving down this slight hill with a turn. I was not doing no more 15 miles per hour. My warning lights for service 4x4 and my traction control light where on. I then proceeded to slide and i could not stop and i slid into a utility pole then a tree. The air bags did not deploy.. I tried to back my vehicle up i had no traction or 4-wheel drive. A gentleman came out to help me and he had some older jeeps tried to move my vehicle and he stated i can't believe your 4x4 is not working. I believe due to failure of the 4x4 and traction control led to my accident. From what i read this is a known issue with jeeps there should be a recall. At this time i have not had the vehicle looked at because it has been in the autobody shop since the accident!

I, [XXX] was driving home from work on Friday, May 1st on [XXX] in [XXX] during heavy traffic when my vehicle suddenly shut off while traveling approximately 65–70 mph. I initially thought I may not have been pressing the accelerator hard enough, but the vehicle would not respond at all. I then looked at the dashboard and saw a message that said “push brake to start.” At that moment I realized the vehicle had shut down completely while I was in active traffic. I had to coast across three lanes of traffic without any propulsion to reach the shoulder. During this time, I was nearly struck twice from behind because I could not maintain speed with surrounding traffic. Once I reached the shoulder, I was able to restart the vehicle. I was extremely shaken and frightened by the incident. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle again. I was very aware that I could have been seriously injured or killed, and I am thankful I was not struck. I am especially concerned about what could have happened if my grandchild had been in the vehicle with me. This incident occurred after a recall repair had already been performed in September 2025 related to powertrain/hybrid system issues. The failure appears to be the same or similar to the condition the recall was intended to correct. After restarting the vehicle, I drove cautiously to my husband’s workplace and left the vehicle parked. Since the incident, I have experienced ongoing anxiety and distress reliving what happened. This vehicle was intended to be a long-term purchase, and it is extremely concerning that it now appears unsafe to operate. This event represents a serious safety hazard. A sudden loss of propulsion at highway speeds without warning creates a high risk of crash, injury, or death. I am requesting that this issue be investigated, as the prior recall repair does not appear to have corrected the problem. I do not feel this vehicle is safe to operate. The vehicle experienced failure of the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), including illumination of ABS and traction control warning lights. The failure was confirmed by a dealership, which identified an internal ABS module failure and wheel speed sensor issues. These components are available for inspection upon request. This issue is associated with Safety Recall 94B, which addresses defects within the ABS system. At the time of failure, there was no remedy available under this recall. The failure impacted critical safety systems, including braking stability and traction control, creating a potential safety risk, particularly during braking or adverse driving conditions where ABS functionality is essential. The issue was reproduced and confirmed by an authorized dealership, which replaced the ABS module and related components after diagnostic testing. Prior to failure, warning indicators including ABS and traction control lights were present on the dashboard. A recall remedy for Safety Recall 94B was later released. However, despite the failure involving the same system identified in the recall, the manufacturer has denied that the repair is related, without providing a technical explanation. This raises concern regarding whether similar safety-related failures are being consistently identified and addressed.

My vehicle is a subject of recall 22V-406 (FCA recall number Z46 [XXX] ), and the repair work for that recall was completed on April 26 of 2024. On April 23, 2026, the vehicle failed in the exact way described in the recall: loss of power, particulate in the fuel lines, failed high-pressure fuel pump. The vehicle is a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee with open safety recalls T59 and V62. The brake warning light is currently illuminated, and based on the symptoms I believe the brake booster may be failing. The braking system is available for inspection upon request. The safety concern is that the vehicle may have reduced braking assist or impaired braking performance while being driven. This creates a risk of increased stopping distance, loss of braking confidence, or inability to stop safely in traffic. I contacted the FCA/Stellantis-recommended Jeep dealership in Lapeer, Michigan multiple times this week to schedule recall-related service. I was repeatedly transferred to service voicemail and did not receive return calls. When I called back and asked to speak with someone else, I reached the service manager. I explained that the vehicle has an illuminated brake warning light and that I suspect the brake booster may be failing. The service manager focused on where I lived, why I was not using a closer dealer, and mentioned that the vehicle is 14 years old, rather than clearly arranging recall service or addressing the brake safety concern. The problem has not yet been inspected or confirmed by a dealer because I have been unable to obtain timely service despite repeated attempts. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others. The warning lamp currently present is the brake warning light. The exact first date the warning light appeared was within the last 2 weeks.
