engine replacement can be avoided you should use fuel injector cleaner every 3000 miles, sediment clogs injectors, and pistons which fuel leaks into oil pan, causing oil/fuel mixture to burn, creating overheating, which leads to oil burning, and eventually engine seizing. If you use fuel injector cleaner every 3000 miles this will prevent needing to replace motor.

I was driving down the highway and noticed a sudden loss of power and a knocking sound coming from the engine that made a sound that matched the rpm's. It is available for inspection upon request however the battery is currently dead and it obviously has a serve knock. The safety of not only myself but other bystanders driving around me were at risk by my car potentially catching fire while driving. I have had one certified dealership tell me my car isn't effected by any recalls so there isn't anything they can do. There have been no formal inspections done to the vehicle. There were no warning lights on when we purchased the vehicle and no lights came on before, during or after this problem started. We have changed the oil every 3k miles and took really well care of this vehicle as we only had it for 3mo before we were forced to park it due to the engine failure.

My wife was driving the vehicle on Monday afternoon and everything was fine and today she started the vehicle and the engine started to sound weirdly, she called me over the phone and she popped up the hood like I told her and she put her phone near the engine gave a little gas and I heard like there was no oil in it, she turned the vehicle off like I told her to do, waited like 5 minutes For the oil to settle and the oil level was half. I'm waiting for tomorrow Wednesday the 27th of March to call any Hyundai dealer near me to see what they say about this situation.

My sante fe has shifted out of park and rolled away from me on 2 occasions. The first time I was about 30 feet away when my son and husband started screaming for me. The car we rolling across the parking lot. I tried to jump in and hit the brake but was unsuccessful and we slammed into a flag pole. The dealer ran a code reader on it and there was no codes so they denied responsibility. Basically called me a liar [XXX] it happened again In McDonald's drive thru The window lady witnessed it. I got out to.get my debit card and as I was leaning down the car rolled out of park snd started coasting away from me. I again, contacted my Hyundai who assigned another case manager. This case manager promised to reimburse me for a rental I paid for the first time the car rolled away from me. The case worker had told me she set up an appointment at another local dealer and they would have a rental waiting on me the next morning I asked her to call amd confirm the appt and rental and to call me back Never heard from her again After numerous calls and emails I recieved an email stating she could no longer assist me since I had obtained legal counsel. Complete lie I never informed them that I had retained counsel. I merely asked if I needed one. . This was their way of brushing me off for the 2nd time Myhyundai has record of me calling trying to gather a resolution at least 30 xs. I have contacted the attorney general's office who reached out to my dealer and my dealer told them they followed protocol and found no issue that would be a warranty issue Of course they aren't wanting to admit that this is issue because this one case could cost millions in recalls. Now there are more and more people that have had the same experience and I fear there will be death before this is addressed. Please help !! On Friday March 22 2024 I was attempting to merge onto the highway but an individual wouldn't let me in which forced me to have to slam on my breaks. After I was able merge, roughly 2 miles down the highway I started hearing what sounded like a belt flapping under the front of my car, the noise increased into a banging I noticed I was losing speed so I pressed on the gas petal and received no exeleration. I immediately pulled to the side of the highway. No lights came on to alert that there was an issue prior. I pressed on my brake and it was rock hard and my wheel seized. I turned off my vehicle to attempt to restart it when I turned the key there once one click sound and all the alerts lights came on. I was unable to turn the wheel or press down on the brake as it was locked up. I had my vehicle towed to a mechanic. I explained what happened the mechanic said it sounded like my engine. He checked the oil and said the stick was dry and when he drained the oil it was black and had a strong odor. I'm pondering of how that can be due to I had gotten an oil change 4 monthly ago and very rarely do I drive my vehicle. I then read the recalls and reviews on my vehicle. I found the same year and style just last month a similar occurrence like mine regarding the engine. This could have caused a horrible accident which could have been fatal. Being that I am not the only one who had this experience; I think is a necessity to pull this particular vehicle to perform an investigation before this vehicle kills someone My particular car make and model has currently 6 recalls! I do not feel safe

My car has a recall, and the dealership is unable to fix it. There is also an issue with the oem control module that they are unable to get the part and unable to fix this because they do not have the correct software.

Out of the blue, the engine started knocking badly. Immediately pulled over and checked engine oil which was extremely low. (This was odd since I regularly check oil levels and keep up with oil changes.) I happened to be very close to an oil change shop, drove over and they did an oil change. They found silver and gold metal shavings in the old oil and topped off with new oil. The knocking was muted but came back by the time I got home. I have not driven the car since. Seems to have the same fate as many other Hyundai vehicles in the current recall, but this has the 3.3l engine. I've also found there is a petition to add the 3.3l engine to the recall.

Hyundai announced recall over 6 months ago and there is still no remedy. Manufacturer Recall Number 251 NHTSA Recall Number 23V651000 They advise to park outside. I've been parking outside for these 6 months, while I have a perfectly good garage available. Since I've been parking outside, I've been concerned over a number of issues: safety walking outside at night, possible theft, slipping on ice/snow (which I've done a couple of times). My windshield also got cracked. While I can't prove that happened while parked outside, I think that it was. This vehicle has had many recalls before, but nothing that ever took this long. Is there any way to push this along?

Engine with rod bearing failure occurred at 108k miles. No check engine light warning came on to notify with engine knock sound as the only indicator that there was a mechanical issue. Regular oil changes have been done on the vehicle however oil levels were low when checked on the day of engine failure (no low oil light came on). 3.3 L V6 engine is not covered under Hyundai’s KSDS Software Update (Campaign 966) and extended warranty however issue is the same as other covered models and years.

While driving on [XXX] at 65 MPH, without warning the sunroof spontaneously exploded and shattered. It produced an extremely loud bang, like a gunshot, startling me to where I almost lost control of the vehicle. There were no vehicles in front of us, no vehicles behind us, and nothing above us (not traveling under a bridge or overpass). We were traveling in the state of Mississippi at the time and it was 58 degrees and raining, NO HAIL was coming down ever. The dealer cannot explain why this would happen but would not cover it under warranty. The vehicle is brand new with 4,100 miles on it when this occurred. Insurance company is paying for the repair which is now complete. The shattered sunroof is thrown away but I have pictures of it right after it happened. On [XXX] I was driving down [XXX] doing 80mph with my family in the car, including my 7month old son. As I was going down the interstate, the vehicle malfunctioned and seized up. I had to manually push to get the vehicle off the interstate to avoid getting hit. The vehicle lights all flashed on and cut off. I had the vehicle towed to the dealership to find out what is wrong with the vehicle, if needed I give permission to get information/inspect the vehicle. I am still trying to get clear answers from Hyundai about what happened to the vehicle and to get it repaired. Engine stalled back in January. Car has been at dealership ever since. I'm waiting on backordered parts to arrive to my 3rd party because so many engines are being replaced. Hyundai flat out told me that a used or remanufactured engine would eventually do the same thing. I've been told it was "catastrophic Engine failure" with shavings in my oil pan. My oil changes and upkeep were up to date which is why my 3rd party warranty company is agreeing to putting a reman Engine in. Hyundai should be made to provide new engines not remanufactured junk of the same problem. Too many people are going through what I'm going through. I have 3 more years of payments but only a year left for my warranty and still no car to drive. Here is a link to an entire group of people experiencing the same issues. My coworker also has the same year and make and was stranded on the highway last week. Her car is now at the same dealership (Hyundai of Kennesaw). I had to pay part out of pocket to get it to Kennesaw because they had a shorter wait time of 2 months vs 6 months at my local dealership. I don't have paperwork yet as I don't have my car yet. In a parking lot at a church I slowed down, going 1 mile per hour or less. Upon taking my foot off the accelorator to put my foot on the brake pedal, so I could come to a complete stop, the moment my foot came off the accelorator, the engine reved up and lunged forward at about 10 mph. I was suprised and took an extra second to apply the brakes. In the mean time, my car went over the curb, grass and onto the side walk, a good 10 feet. If anyone had been on the side walk, I would have hit them. Additional information: the transmission was in "Snow Mode", it was snowing and cold outside. Attached photo shows tire tracks of the incident.

We brought our vehicle into the dealer for a recall for undercoating on [XXX]. The work was completed by Tarbox Hyundai in north kingstown ri. We noticed our car started drifting to the right and our tire was out of align. We brought the car to our local mechanic and were told that the entire under carriage is rotting away and needs to be replaced. I feel Hyundai should be responsible for this because they knew about it and didn't tell us. Instead they just did the undercoating trying to hide the fact that is was completely rotted. thank you INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The vehicle brakes would trigger randomly which is clearly extremely unsafe on: [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] which Triple A can validate. The main issue was the vehicle did not pull a code and since the happened randomly without warning there was no way to get this issue repaired. I called the dealership twice. The dealership recommended I call Hyundai customer relations which did nothing because the car was not under warranty and would not even work with me, even though this issue was extremely dangerous The second time this happened almost caused a vehicle pileup, because it happened on the highway when the brakes where triggered. Luckily I was able to get off of the highway with my brakes engaged, which was obviously not good for the vehicle. The last time this happened on [XXX] is when the master cylinder blew costing us $1,703.22. I called Hyundai they assigned me to 3 different case workers because the first 2 were extremely rude as if I did something wrong and were not empathetic to the seriousness of the situation. Leanna was the new case manager. She wanted me to provide all of the receipts and everything that would be relevant. After an exhausting back and forth for months in which they were clearly trying to dissuade me from taking action they simply rejected any assistance and gave me a silly $50 gift card. Engine will RANDOMLY CUT OFF AND IT WOULD DO THAT EVEN WHEN IN DRIVE LIKE IT WASNT GETTING GAS. The dash board would light then continue going WOULD START RIGHT BACK AWAY AND HAS DONE THAT EVER SINCE.i purchased it I ALSO HAD THE O2 CENSOR REPLACED AS WELL. THE TIRES ARE AWFUL THE SUSPENSION. Electrical Problems I have to hit my headlight to come on before I leave when it's dark. Sometimes when I first start driving it pulls me to the right not like wheel balancing . But pulld then back to driving . One last thing I went in for recall update or something. The mechanic say hell do the update and drive the car if it has a problem going in drive they had to replace a sensor or something my car wouldn't move they were going to fix it and give me a loaner car . The guy said let me try something he did then the car started to drive. They were supposed to replace something and didn't. My engine light came on and stayed on I complained to him he just cleared the code it came back on and has been on every since. I told him it want on before I got here he said well it wasn't from anything they did. But it was.
