Statement by American Honda Regarding Left and Right Front Drive Shaft Recalls Our 2011 Honda Accord, driven by our grandson, had experienced a possible breakage of the drive shaft, leaving him stranded on an off-ramp on the freeway. It appears Honda has had recalls for this mechanical failure on a limited number of VN numbers. I did find that there had been over 292 complaints according to NHTSA campaign number XXX. I did reach out to Honda, and with no explanation other than no recalls on this VIN [XXX [XXX] selective safety recall. This 2019 Honda Accord was part of the fuel pump recall that occurred in 23/24. The vehicle was taken in and had the fuel pump fixed at the dealership under the recall. From that point we have begun to have issues with the fuel injectors. The vehicle started to run rough, and then all of the dash lights came on. All accessory items, Lane Departure warning, adaptive cruise control, etc, all stay on as if malfunctioning. The vehicle was taken into dealership and diagnostic was run, results was two failing fuel injectors. Calls were placed to Honda and request was made to have them assist in a goodwill repair since so many of these vehicles are experiencing the same issue after the recall repair was made. Honda did a review of the diagnostic report and reported problem and stated that the vehicle fell outside of the warranty on the fuel injectors, and that they would not honor any assistance in repairs. They stated case was closed and no further conversations could be had. I mentioned that I knew that they had issued an extended warranty on 2016-2019 Honda CRV's and Civics for the fuel injectors up to 150,000 miles. They stated that my vehicle VIN did not fall within those, which I acknowledge. Vehicle is still malfunctioning and we will be responsible for the repairs, even though this is a well known issue after the fuel pump recall repair. It was stated that we will just need to fix the repairs on our own, which is over $2000 and that, if in the future, there is a recall or extended warranty offered then we could try and speak with them about possibly getting our money back.

To Whom It May Concern, My 2023 Honda Accord (VIN: <Fill in red: VIN [XXX] >) has been disabled since January 27, 2026 due to a fuel system failure. The dealership falsely claimed diesel contamination, which I deny. Despite escalation to Honda executives and NJ Lemon Law action, the vehicle remains unsafe and unusable. Attached is documentation supporting my complaint (Master PDF: Camardo_Honda_Accord_Escalation.pdf). I request your immediate review and assistance to resolve this safety issue. I am reporting suspected odometer fraud and possible VIN [XXX] entation involving a vehicle being offered for sale. The seller stated the vehicle has approximately 123,000 miles. However, a vehicle history report and third-party valuation (Carvana) show the same vehicle VIN [XXX] ) wi [XXX] les recorded. This is a discrepancy of more than 180,000 miles. I personally photographed the VIN plate on the vehicle and confirmed the VIN [XXX] ) matches the h [XXX] ing high mileage. The seller did not disclose the higher mileage and is advertising the vehicle at a value consistent with a much lower-mileage vehicle. This appears to be an intentional misrepresentation of the vehicle’s true mileage. I have screenshots of the listing, seller communications stating 123,000 miles, VIN [XXX] ) photos, and documentatio [XXX] er mileage history. I am submitting this complaint to report potential odometer rollback or mileage fraud so the vehicle can be investigated before another buyer is harmed. I turned my car on and it didn't want to crank up. Once it did crank up every warning light came on. My son ran the code and P00087 came up. I tried to drive my car in my parking lot and it kept stalling like it was going to cut off. Now I drove my car earlier in the day and didn't have any problems. It wasn't until after my car sat throughout the day when this took place. I know it's a recall for fuel pump issues but my car isn't included.

The contact owns a 2022 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at high speeds, the vehicle made an unintended movement that felt like a brief skid while depressing the brake pedal. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the collision mitigation braking system (CMBS) engaged while there were no other vehicles around. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Action Number: EA24002 (Forward Collision Avoidance). The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The dealer was contacted, and an appointment was scheduled for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle needed to be diagnosed three times, and a case would be opened if the failure persisted. The failure mileage was unknown

The cylinder head gasket on this vehicle has failed, causing engine coolant to leak into the combustion chambers (coolant intrusion). This has resulted in a recurring and dangerous loss of motive power that has put my safety and the safety of other motorists at risk on multiple occasions. Specifically, the vehicle has repeatedly entered "Limp Mode" while in active traffic, causing a sudden, drastic loss of acceleration that left me unable to maintain the flow of traffic or safely maneuver. This component failure is available for inspection upon request. The problem has been officially confirmed by Holman Honda of Fort Lauderdale, where technicians diagnosed the blown head gasket and confirmed the presence of coolant in the cylinders. The manufacturer's authorized dealership has inspected the vehicle and provided a formal repair estimate. Prior to the multiple "Limp Mode" failures, the vehicle exhibited clear warning symptoms starting in late 2025, including violent engine stuttering and a "shimmering" vibration during cold starts. Additionally, a distinct "gurgling" or bubbling sound was audible behind the dashboard, indicating combustion gases displacing coolant. During the actual failure events, the dashboard displayed a "Christmas Tree" effect of warning lamps, including "Emissions System Problem," "Brake System," and "Power Steering System" alerts, which disabled critical safety and driver-assist features while the vehicle was in motion. This persistent design defect has created a high risk for rear-end collisions and total engine seizure.

I have a 2017 Honda Accord Sport. According to the recall, the low pressure fuel pump has a faulty impeller. My low pressure, in tank, fuel pump failed. The failed pump caused the high pressure fuel pump to fail. DTC code P00087, low fuel pressure recorded. Symptoms included loss of motive power above 2000 rpm, hard starts, and engine light. According to Service Bulletin 24-072 all 2013-2017 Accords are affected. However, check VIN for my Accord, which has the exact symptoms, was not included in the recall. I opened a Case with Honda (#16134549) for review. Honda denied that this vehicle was part of the recall and they will not assist with the repair. Come on Honda do the right thing!

Purchased a car from JKJ Auto on 01/17/2026 for $5000 + tax. Car was sold "as-is" with no dealer warranty. Vehile was only driven for 12 days before the car caught fire while my son was driving to school. He was trapped inside until a person ran over to help him out of the car. Police came to the scene and towed the vehicle. It was later examined by DSM Auto Repair who deduced that the battery was defective and overheated. This caused all other electrical cables to ignite along with the rest of the car. There were no warning lamps, messages or audio alerts. My son first noticed when there was white smoke coming from the hood as the car shut off, followed shortly by flames.

I was taking my wife’s 2019 Honda Accord into a dealership for a factory recall with a fuel pump issue. After I dropped it off, I got a phone call, letting me know that they had some bad news and that the cars third cylinder had failed due to a blown head gasket and coolant leaking into the cylinder. There has never been a check, engine, light or code or sign of any kind of issue with this vehicle up to this point I have it regularly serviced at Honda dealerships after doing some research. This seems to be a recurring issue with people in this make and model of Honda Accord with the 1.5 T engine. I would like to have someone contact me regarding the expense related to this repair as I believe it should not be on the owner to cover such cost when it is a recurring and known issue with this vehicle.

Financed a used 2021 honda accord sport in April of 2024 with 68,671 miles. About a month ago, with no warning signs of any sort such as overheating etc...my car did not want to start, finally started but was sputtering with a rough idle, my dash lit up with like 7 or more warning lights. Including a flashing check engine light. All the were safety warnings from braking system not working, to power steering to emissions failure, etc... and to take to dealership. Got the car to a local mechanic to get a diagnostics reading and was told I had a misfire in cylinder 2. Replaced the #2 coil and spark plug. Thought everything was fine until picking up my daughter from school and then all those warning messages lit my dash up again including the flashing check engine light. Car started sputtering and went into limp mode. Lost power and by the grace of God was able t9 coast off the major Blvd away from traffic and out of harms way. Very, very scary. My life literally flashed before my eyes. Not only my life was in danger but my daughters along with other drivers around me. So I took it back to mechanic and he ran diagnostics again still had a misfire. He could not pin point the exact problem. Took it to the dealership and they confirm it was a faulty head gasket between CYL 2 and water jacket. And they quoted me a price of $5,998. Which i can not afford. And feel Im not responsible for catastrophic major mechanical failure. I maintenance my car regularly thru the dealership so they have record of me properly maintenancing the car. Head gasket failure at 80,000 miles is absolutely unheard of. Until I started researching and come to find out this is a design flaw made by Honda. I was flabbergasted with the amount of people with the exact type of problem. Im afraid that even after repairing this problem that it may happen again down the line. And that would be putting my life in danger. Vehicle is still at dealership being that I can not afford the repairs.

Over the past several years, there have been multiple instances where I or my wife are driving on the highway and the engine light comes on or starts flashing, and I am unable to go faster than 50 miles an hour, and the engine itself feels to be underpowered. We have taken it to the dealership for repair at least five times over the past five years and in each case they have attempted to do a repair and said the issue has been resolved, but the issue continue. At at least one of those visits, they have diagnosed the issue as an engine misfire issue. The issue has intensified from the initial symptoms, (which were as I described, but resolved by turning the car off, waiting 30 seconds to a minute and then turning the car on again) to how it is now: in addition to the check engine light, every other light and warning system has gone off when driving on the highway and the engine was unable to go faster than 40 miles an hour, and it does not resolve by restarting the car. The dealership and Honda America’s main phone line have as of yet been unable to give me a clear answer as to why this is happening or whether it can be fixed. A sudden drop in speed and power on the highway as we have experienced many times over the last five years is inherently extremely dangerous.

Head gasket failure was noted and happened at about 95000 miles. Crack in a cylinder lead to leaking of coolant and caused misfires and check engine. Was let know that if ignored engine could “expire” at a random time if not dealt with asap could have lead to a crash, injury, or harm others or property. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The problem was confirmed by dealer and partially before dealer by independent mechanic. Vehicle was inspected by dealer and trusted independent mechanic. Zero warning about failure up until failure. Vehicle entered safety crawl mode when engaged in any throttle with resistance up hill or on flat over 20 mph. First appeared just shy of 95000 miles. A known issue in many many of this specific make and model of car with varying years.

I purchased this 2018 Honda Accord Sport brand new from the dealership, relying on Honda’s longstanding reputation for reliability and longevity. At approximately 120,000 miles, the vehicle suffered a blown head gasket during normal driving conditions. The vehicle has been properly maintained according to Honda’s recommended schedule. I have already opened a claim with Honda corporate regarding this issue and am currently awaiting their response. Despite proper maintenance, this catastrophic engine failure occurred, suggesting a design or manufacturing defect rather than misuse. This issue presents both a safety concern and a substantial financial burden, as I am a single mother of four who depends on this vehicle for daily transportation. Based on reports from other owners, this appears to be a widespread defect affecting 10th-generation Honda Accords with the 1.5L turbo engine, which I respectfully request NHTSA investigate.
