  For 2015-2024 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with turbocharged engines and customer concern of an engine oil leak, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-00 for oil leak inspection and testing methods. Ford has evaluated turbochargers replaced for oil leak symptoms and although oil may collect on the external surface of a turbocharger, it is extremely rare for a turbocharger assembly to be the root cause of the oil leak. Careful inspection of the turbocharger oil feed and drain tubes should be performed along with the recommended WSM procedures as needed. Warranty claims for turbocharger replacement going forward will be assessed.

  During service and repair requiring removal and replacement of a crankshaft bolt and/or crankshaft damper, achieving proper torque of the crankshaft pulley bolt is critical. Incorrect torque may allow the bolt to loosen resulting in the timing gear breaking and engine damage. Replacement of the bolt is critical to the repair and accurately following the installation procedure in the Workshop Manual (WSM) Section, 303-01 is extremely important. The bolt torque procedure can be found in the crankshaft front seal removal and installation procedure or in the engine assembly procedure.

This may be due to the interaction between the analog camera and the high definition digital center display screen. To confirm a vehicle is built with an analog camera and a 12 inch center display screen, verify the minor feature codes J3KAR (REAR VIEW CAMERA - LEVEL 2) and HJGAX (MULTI FUNCTION DISPLAY - 12 inch) by reviewing the build information by double-clicking the vehicle identification number (VIN) in the upper left corner in the Professional Technician System (PTS). This is an operating characteristic of the vehicle. Do not attempt any repairs for this condition.

This concern may occur with vehicles equipped with two or three second row seats. This may be due to a broken recliner release lever. To correct this concern, replace the recliner release lever.

  Some 2021-2023 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC 4 may exhibit the navigation feature in the center display screen only displaying imperial (feet and miles) units and not being able to change to metric (meters and kilometers) units. This may be due to the software level of the SYNC module (APIM). To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to update the APIM to the latest software level via a coordinated flash. NOTE: The APIM software update that addresses the symptom listed in this article may have been sent via Ford Power-Up software updates delivered over-the-air (OTA) to connected vehicles that have automatic updates enabled through the center display screen. Enter the vehicle identification number (VIN) in Professional Technician System (PTS) and check the OTA Dashboard under the Connected Vehicle tab for OTA update history. If an update to the APIM has successfully completed recently and the customer is reporting the symptoms are no longer present, this article may not apply.

Some 2022-2023 Expedition/Navigator vehicles may experience Android Auto/Apple CarPlay connectivity concerns, or center display screen inoperative, frozen or blank. Navigator vehicles with power running boards may randomly not remember the enable/disable setting after a key cycle. This may be due to the software in the SYNC module (APIM). To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the APIM. The APIM software update that addresses the symptom listed in this article may have been delivered over-the-air (OTA) via Ford Power-Up software updates to connected vehicles that have automatic updates enabled through the center display screen. Enter the vehicle identification number (VIN) in Professional Technician System (PTS) and check the OTA Dashboard under the Connected Vehicle tab for OTA update history.
