SummaryIn some of the affected vehicles, customers may initially experience a gear grinding noise from the transmission in reverse, which could progress to illumination of the check engine light and/or transmission wrench light. If the customer continues to operate the vehicle, this could progress to a loss of transmission torque resulting in vehicle speed limitation and inability to shift to reverse.

SummarySome 2021-2024 F-150 and 2023-2024 Expedition/Navigator vehicles equipped with a 3.5L EcoBoost engine may exhibit a rattle/scraping noise from the bellhousing area on start-up. This may be due to the torque converter studs contacting the engine-to-transmission spacer plate (separator plate). To correct this condition, remove the transmission and flexplate and inspect the engine-to-transmission spacer plate and torque converter studs for wear/damage. If wear/damage is found, replace the engine-to-transmission spacer plate. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM) Section 303-01 Engine - 3.5L EcoBoost (BM), Removal and Installation, Crankshaft Rear Seal. When reinstalling the starter motor, make sure the starter is flush with the engine-to-transmission spacer plate prior to tightening the studbolts. Failure to do so may result in damaging the newly installed engine-to-transmission spacer plate.

SummaryThis article supersedes 24-2028 to update the vehicle symptom. Some 2022-2024 Expedition/Navigator vehicles may exhibit a random "Blind Spot Not Available Sensor Blocked" and/or "Cross Traffic Alert Not Available Sensor Blocked" warning messages in the IPC with no vehicle or objects near the vehicle. This condition may be intermittent, more noticeable in wet conditions. Diagnostic trouble codes B13F3:97 in the side obstacle detection control module - left (SODL) and/or B13F4:97 in the side obstacle detection control module - right (SODR) and/or U0233 and U0232 in the image processing module A (IPMA) may also be present. This may be due to a mud/snow/ice build-up between the radar sensor and the rear bumper cover or damage or corrosion to the radar sensor, connector or harness. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to repair damage and install shields.

SummarySome vehicles equipped with SYNC4 may exhibit one or more of the following symptoms after all currently available accessory protocol interface module (APIM) software updates have been performed. - General system performance, stability, and intermittent system reboots. - Intermittent Wireless CarPlay or Android Auto function. - Phone related concerns with intermittent No Audio or Static. - Navigation/global positioning system (GPS) related concerns through CarPlay and Android Auto. - Alexa function consistency and stability. These symptoms may be due to the software in the APIM. Replacing the APIM will not resolve these symptoms for the customer. Before returning the vehicle to the customer, review the procedures within Workshop Manual, Section 415-00 and ensure the latest APIM software is installed. Refer to General Service Bulletin (GSB) 23-7146 for help determining the latest available level of software. IMPORTANT: some module software updates will only display as available on Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) after prerequisite modules are updated. This may require the technician to update certain modules multiple times during the service visit, before the latest APIM software is accessible in FDRS. If symptoms continue after latest APIM software has been installed, inform customers that Ford is working on additional software enhancements which are expected to be delivered over-the-air (OTA) by Q4 2024 on F-150, F-150 Lightning, Mustang Mach-E, Mustang, Escape, Corsair, Expedition, Navigator, Bronco, Mustang, and 2023-2024 F-Super Duty. Software will update automatically if vehicle connectivity is enabled in the vehicle's settings. For all other vehicles with SYNC4, schedule a service visit for customers in October 2024, when the updated APIM software is expected to be available to dealers. Monitor OASIS for additional information.

SummarySome 2023 Expedition/Navigator vehicles may experience a heated seat indicator center display screen/switch mismatch (Navigator only) or speed assist off switch greyed out (Expedition only). This may be due to the software in the accessory protocol interface module (APIM). To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the APIM using the latest level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool. The APIM software update that addresses the symptom listed in this article may have been delivered over-the-air (OTA) via Ford Power-Up software updates to connected vehicles that have automatic updates enabled through the center display screen. Enter the vehicle identification number (VIN) in Professional Technician System (PTS) and check the OTA Dashboard under the Connected Vehicle tab for OTA update history. If an update to the APIM has been successfully completed recently and the customer is reporting the symptoms are no longer present, this article may not apply.
