POWER TRAIN
Driving back home on Dec-08-2021; about 2 miles from home I started hearing gear whine noise, only got louder. Pulled over about half mile from home, walked around the car to see if something was stuck underbody. After that, the vehicle would not engage gear when I put it in D or R. I had to press gas hard for the gear to engage, but the car unpredictably engage and would lurch forward and lose gear again. Kept doing that for until I got home. Checked underneath, oil was leaking from the trans pan. The gear would only engage when the gas is pressed hard, but the car would jump as soon as the gear engages.

POWER TRAIN
The problem component is the transmission fluid pump. The issue first started while driving. the transmission started making a grinding noise. the fault code for this was P0868. Our vehicle was towed to a dodge dealership for inspection and repairs. Estimated cost is $1576.84. I have researched this issue and feel this should be considered a recall. Owners should be covered for these repairs.

The gear will not shift unless I press the release button. After I took it for a recall in Route 18 Dodge dealer East Brunswick NJ, it came back without been able to shift. I asked the mechanic why my car is no moving, they said you have to press the release button and shift gears at the same. I told them I didn’t bring my car in like this. After I spoke to “Mike” the manager, he said it was a matter of time. I’m scare for my life when driving because now is making all these sounds on the transmission.

The contact owns a 2009 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start up. The vehicle also failed to start up after receiving a jumpstart. The contact mentioned that the starter needed to be tampered with for the vehicle to start. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the starter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred several times. The starter was replaced several times. The contact contacted several dealers and notified the dealers of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 116,614.

Headrest just popped open, the 2015 journey is equipped with headrests that open upon impact to reduce whiplash and protect the neck. My driver side one popped for no reason while driving, which can be a dangerous situation if moving or on the highway.

On November 26th as I was driving the headrest just popped and hit the back of my head, after doing a little bit of research I found out it's actually an airbag, nothing hit the back of the seat since I was the only one in the car, I'm concern as to how this had happened and if the other headrest will go off as well.

On Nov.18,2021 while driving my 2015 dodge journey suddenly felt like something slammed into the back of my driver seat, and into the back of my head. Come to find out my headrest airbag deployed. I feel this should be repaired at the expense of manufacturer. It is a defect that can cause injury to driver. I was not in an accident was just driving down the road. I have had pain in my neck and head since this occured.

The contact owns a 2016 Dodge Journey. The contact stated while driving at 55 MPH, the ABS warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the brake pads needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the brake pads were replaced. The contact also stated that the cruise control system failed to operate as designed, and the driver’s side window failed to open as needed. The contact stated that the Navigation System was inoperable and there were also several unknown warning lights illuminated upon starting the vehicle. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 35,000.

The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the throttle warning light would flash on the instrument panel as the vehicle would either stall or go into limp mode. The contact also stated that the vehicle would fail to start up after multiple attempts without warning. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic where the ECU, suspension, and several various electrical components were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure and offered no assistance. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

SERVICE BRAKES, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, VISIBILITY/WIPER
The blind spot is horrible. I have to check my mirrors 3 times because even if I look on my side, especially on the driver’s side whenever I have to switch lanes, I can’t see if there is a car on my blind spots. The mirrors don’t help because it may appear that the car beside me is far but it may also be near. So that of the major issue with this car. Next, when the vehicle in front of me did a sudden stop and I hit my brakes too hard to stop, the car made a throttling sound then it stopped. When it was safe to go, it wouldn’t go even though my gear is on Drive and I am pressing on the gas pedal. It just makes a rubbing noise as like it is on Park mode and you are hitting the gas pedal. So I had to shut my car off and turn it back on. Lastly, cruise control doesn’t work very well. Sometimes it works, but most of the times I had to pull over and restart my car or hit the brakes and press the on/off switch for cruise control.

WE PURCHASED OUR 2010 DODGE JOURNEY FROM AN AUCTION. RIGHT AWAY THERE WERE ALL SORTS OF ELECTRONIC ISSUES WITH VARIOUS BELLS & WHISTLES. MOST OF THESE WERE SOLVED ONCE WE PURCHASED A NEW FOB & HAD IT PROGRAMMED. HOWEVER, MOST IMPORTANTLY, THE HORN WILL BLOW WITHOUT TOUCHING THE STEERING WHEEL. IT WILL BLOW WHILE THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING AND WHEN THE VEHICLE IS OFF, DOES NOT MATTER. MY HUSBAND HAD TO DISCONNECT THE HORN UNDER THE HOOD IN ORDER TO GET IT TO STOP. WE HAVE TAKEN IT TO AN INDEPENDENT SERVICE CENTER AND THE MECHANIC COULD NOT FIND WHY THE HORN WILL NOT STOP BLOWING. I DISCUSSED THIS ISSUE WITH THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY INDICATED THE VEHICLE NEEDS AN UPDATE, HOWEVER, AFTER MUCH RESEARCHING ON THE WEB MANY MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE UPDATE COMPLETED AT THE DEALERSHIP AND THE HORN ISSUES STARTED AGAIN 2 WEEKS LATER, MANY MUCH SOONER. OUR VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN INSPECTED BY ANYONE ELSE. ALSO, THERE ARE NO WARNING LAMPS IN REGARDS TO THE HORN THAT HAVE COME ON. WE ARE LOOKING INTO HAVING A SEPARATE HORN INSTALLED ON THE VEHICLE, DUE TO THE SAFETY ISSUE. DODGE NEEDS TO HAVE A RECALL IN REGARDS TO THIS HORN ISSUE THAT COULD COST SOMEONE THEIR LIFE, IT'S QUITE UNBELIEVABLE THEY HAVE NOT DONE SO. (SEE BELOW- "Approximate date this incident occurred", OUR ISSUE IS ONGOING, WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE ON 08-14-2021.)

On October 22, 2021, I was driving my 2018 Dodge Journey Crossroad and upon sitting at a traffic light I press the gas and my truck started humming for about five seconds and it stopped. I brought this truck on December 4th, 2019 and it has roughly 64,000 miles on it but I kept up my routine maintenance. I am a person with disabilities and I need my vehicle to get to work. Please look into this matter my transmission should not have gone out so soon! Thank you for your kind attention.

Rear backup camera is severely blurred as to make it impossible to safely see any Cleaning of the lens made no change in the severity of the image. The Carmax dealership in Brooklyn park MN was aware of the issue and notified of the malfunction after a test drive. Their answer was that it was a known issue but there was no effort to fix the problem because it was not listed as a recall issue. There was no warning light or electronic notices, only noticing the issue on the dash screen when the “reverse” was engaged. It is unable in its current condition to provide an adequate level of safety when backing up. The colored lines indicating the vehicles part while backing up is clear but all surrounding objects are blurry.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
For many years (at least 8) this SUV has experienced odd, electrical issues (1) on at least 4 occasions I have found all windows lowered halfway when coming out to the car in the morning. (2) on 2 occasions I could not get the interior lights to turn off. It took multiple restarts and stops to stop effect. (3) about 18 months ago, while parked frequently at night, the horn would start honking. It appeared the alarm system was responding. The remote would not turn it off. Car needed key inserted and to be started. Finally it started randomly blowing while I was driving. I removed fuses to stop issue. (4) recently, overnight, the relatively new (less than a year) battery would be dead in morning. No lights left on. Alternator working. On the 2nd occasion I noticed when jumped the turn indicator was blinking despite not being turned on. This was the first time I decided to seek service help as a dead battery every morning is not just a minor problem. Vehicle current at garage.
