SEATS:FRONT ASSEMBLY:HEAD RESTRAINT
The contact owns a 2014 Chrysler Town and Country. The contact stated that while the vehicle was idling, the contact's wife sat down in the front passenger’s seat, and several minutes later, the front passenger's seat headrest deployed. The headrest struck the contact's wife on the back of the head; however, no injuries were sustained. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed, and it was determined that an unknown plastic piece had detached from the head restraint. The vehicle remained at the dealer pending the repair. The contact stated that two years previously, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the front driver's side head restraint deployed unintendedly. The headrest struck the contact on the back of the head; however, no injuries were sustained. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the headrest was replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the warranty on the headrest had expired in September 2023. The approximate failure mileage was approximately 90,000.

The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler Town And Country. The contact stated that while his wife was driving 55 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power. The driver was able to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle was able to restart. After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the ignition switch. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V373000 (Electrical System, Air Bags); but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 98,000.

Passenger side headrest deployed. Vehicle was not involved in a accident. Was parked at the time. Is available for inspection. No one was hurt, but I'm now afraid that the driver side headrest may deploy while I'm driving and could cause me to have an accident. There was not warning or indication that headrest was faulty or ready to deploy.

Van was driving fine, no issues. Regular maintenance done, and 100,000 mile work completed within last year. One day it was totally fine, the next day it was whining, hopping and driving unsafely. Transmission randomly needs replaced. Throwing codes for low pressure and the pump losing prime. All codes were transmission lost of pressure related and the transmission has an internal failure.

I was driving at 515 am on the highway about 60 mph, when all of a sudden Drive aside headrest airbag went off. I am thankful that it was early in the morning and not a lot of people on the road cuz I did swerve but did not hit anyone or anything as it startled me as I was driving. I called Chrysler see case number below and they will do nothing about this. As this car is made you need to replace the whole seat they want me to pay for the Diagnostics waiting for a supervisor to call me back. I've been icing my lower neck and back since it happened. The driver side headrest airbag deployed. No one was hurt, this was a replacement recall part from December 2023. This was supposed to be safe, what if I was driving my family and friends around and this happened? We don’t feel safe. I left a message with the dealer and am waiting to hear back. No one has inspected it this time yet. No warning signs.

Passenger side active head rest deployed suddenly while driving down the road on a hot day (90 degrees with heat factor 100+) Called dealer and they stated extended coverage for this expired June 13. This happened on July 28. They want to order parts, approx 170 USD and charge 108 USD labor. This is a common problem because of manufacturing with inferior plastic parts and it is violent when it pops apart unexpectedly.

Couldn't reverse vehicle after buying the vehicle three days ago. My safety and my passengers safety wasn't safe I almost got hit from the front and back trying to reverse the vehicle to go. I can put the vehicle in any other gear and it works but the reverse. i called the vehicle repair shop and bring it in to the shop where I was told they were going to work on the vehicle for free since I only had it for three days. I paid for the warranty part and everything. This the second car I bought from Fett's city motors that been dangerous to operate on roads and highways.

Vehicle engine exploded in the middle of the night. Car would remote start on its own as I would lock the doors and walk away prior to the incident. Also the airbag light would come off and on. Notice the day of the incident that the dimmer would disappear and reappear. Very strange I thought. The house could've burned down while we were sleeping. If it wasn't for our neighbors and the quick response of those firefighters it could've possibly burned the house down while we were in there sleeping. The van was picked up by the insurance company two days ago. Not sure what happened as far as it being inspected yet. They have given me the silent treatment. Went to a Chrysler dealership, not where I bought it. This van has had one recall done in 2015. Rear quarter vent window switch.

The driver's side active restraint headrest deployed unexpectedly while parked. The vehicle has never been in an accident. Upon inspection, I can see where there are plastic retaining holes that that had a metal retaining pin in it cracked. The metal pin was still in its clip. The vehicle is drivable and available for inspection. The vehicle was parked and unoccupied when the head restraint went off. No injuries were incurred. However in order to drive the vehicle now, the seat back must be adjusted back making the driving position awkward. Neither the vehicle nor the component has been inspected by anyone at this time. There were no warning lamps or messages presented prior to the issue. I did recently notice that the back plastic cover on the headrest was askew and figured it had been bumped loose by a rear rider at some time. However, it now seems that this was showing the weakening and deformation of the plastic retaining parts that were holding the metal pin.

The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V461000 (POWER TRAIN). A 2015-2016 Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan recall was issued due to a potential loss of motive power. The transmission pump could seize, causing a loss of hydraulic pressure. This recall also includes 2016 Dodge Journey and Ram ProMaster vehicles. To check if your specific vehicle is affected, you'll need your 17-digit Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). This the issue I have with my van.I believe my van should be included in this recall. I cannot trust this vehicle especially on the highway. The transmission is 62TE and was manufactured during the same time as the recalled vehicles. The code reader indicates the hydraulic pumps are not working. I need to have a safe vehicle that I can depend on.

HEAD REST ON PASSENGER FRONT SEAT DEPLOYED/MALFUNCTIONED UNEXPECTEDLY. YES IT IS AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION. IT COULD HAVE HIT MY HUSBAND IN THE HEAD AS HE WAS ENTERING THE VEHICLE. NOW I AM CONCERNED THE SAME MALFUNCTION MAY HAPPEN ON DRIVERS SIDE WHILE VEHICLE IS BEING DRIVEN. NO NO NO WARNING WERE GIVEN
