The transmission system on my 2025 Chevrolet Traverse began showing signs of failure approximately 2–3 months after purchase. Symptoms include erratic shifting, gear hesitation, and sporadic power loss while driving. Although the issue was promptly reported to Chevrolet headquarters, I was unable to bring the vehicle to the dealer earlier due to the lack of available loaner vehicles. The car is now at the dealership and has been there for nearly three weeks without any updates or contact from the service team. The transmission is available for inspection, and documentation of the issue exists. The malfunction has created safety risks during normal driving, including delayed acceleration when merging into traffic and unexpected gear disengagement at speed. These conditions compromise vehicle control and increase the likelihood of a collision. Additionally, the vehicle produces a persistent squeaky noise from the accelerator pedal during operation, which could indicate underlying mechanical stress or a deeper linkage issue. The sound is both distracting and concerning, especially during highway driving or sudden acceleration attempts.

The contact's husband leases a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that after the vehicle had been parked for approximately 10 minutes, the contact who was occupying the front passenger's side seat turned off the vehicle while the driver's seat was unoccupied. The contact stated that the vehicle started rolling backwards and crashed into a tree that was 100 ft. away. The contact husband, who attempted to stop the vehicle from outside, sustained a partial tear of his hamstring and calf muscle on the right leg and received assistance from an Orthopedic. The contact sustained a contusion on the left hand but did not seek medical assistance. The contact and her husband were able to drive away from the scene and pulled into a parking lot, where the failure was reproduced. The vehicle was then driven to the residence and parked in the garage. The dealer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the manufacturer for assistance. The contact stated that the manufacturer was notified of the failure and sent a field investigator, who inspected the vehicle but failed to inspect the transmission. The manufacturer later informed the contact that no assistance would be provided. The contact was not provided information on the field inspector assessment. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V172000(Power Train); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 14,000.

While using self driving on a decided highway I came up on a slower moving vehicle. I was at a 65 mph speed. The turn signal for a left turn came on. My vehicle changed lanes to pass. As I got along side the other vehicle it increased speed. We were then side by side at the same speed. I waited to see what my vehicle was going to do. It then turned on the right turn signal. I believe if I didn’t grab the steering wheel my vehicle would have turned into the other vehicle. Clearly the sensors didn’t detect the car next to me. Thank you for considering this.

While driving the vehicle a brake assist and service ESC fault occurred. It flashed on the dashboard. The issue just appeared with no prior warning. This made the brakes very difficult to engage and control. I was driving 50+ MPH down a congested road and almost collided with vehicles in front of me stopping for a traffic light. I had my wife and two small children in the vehicle with me. I made it to a place of business and turned the vehicle off. It would not restart and had no power. It was towed to the dealership. The issue has occurred on two other occasions. Once about a month prior. The vehicle was able to restart and the fault was gone. The first time this happened was right after I purchased the vehicle. It had 500 miles on it. It was serviced by the dealership who replaced the master brake cylinder. The vehicle does not feel safe to drive due to the issue. You loose control of the brakes with no prior warning.

The contact owns a 2025 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while driving 70 MPH during a road trip, the ABS warning light illuminated upon depressing the brake pedal. The contact stated that the messages "Control Module Performance Warning" and "Forward Collision Alert System" were displayed. The contact continued driving, and the brake pedal and steering wheel became stiff. The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road and restarted. The message "Do Not Drive the Vehicle over 62 MPH" was displayed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was partially diagnosed that the brake plunger motor temperature was too high, and there was a braking performance failure. The dealer reset unknown sensors, and the contact and his family drove to the destination. The vehicle was taken to another dealer, where it was diagnosed that the brake master cylinder had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 913.

On June 10th I drove my vehicle to work downtown Cleveland (no issues). Got home around 1 pm and had to leave at 3:30 to get my daughter from school. As I got in my vehicle I started to go in reverse and received all of those notifications and my brakes went completely out and I had to slam it to the floor to stop it was so scary and I thank god I wasn’t on the road or with my children!! I called the dealership the next day and they finally had my vehicle towed on the 12th of June. Once my car was there “the error messages disappeared and it was fine”. I did not feel safe taking the car back so they kept it another day and had the technician driving it around, still nothing until he washed the vehicle then it happened. After doing a ton of my own research others have stated the 2025 traverse has the same issue and they had to get the master cylinder replaced so I mentioned this to them at the dealership. The lady called me back and said I was right. They put me through Hertz for a rental and I found out today they didn’t even order the part until the 20th. This is very frightening and should be a recall immediately! I can’t imagine if I was driving 70 mph and this happened I could’ve died or killed someone else!

The car is equipped with an automatic light feature designed to activate in low-light conditions, such as early mornings or evenings. However, the system only triggers when it is completely dark. Even in very low sunlight, the lights do not turn on, which can be dangerous as the car may not be fully visible on highways

1. Transmission leak. Car towed to dealer on 5/1/25 still there with no resolution. 2. Transmission fluid sprayed from under car which could get on the brake rotors and exhaust system. 3. Confirmed by dealer and GM service 25-NA-001 Transmission Fluid Leak Near Torque Converter dated 3/13/2025. GM shows that the repair should take 13.7 hours. 4. No only by dealer. 5. No warnings or symptoms. After a 100 mile trip we found Transmission fluid leaking in our garage floor. Had the car towed to the dealer on 5/1/25.
