STEERING
The power steering freezes up upon the slightest amount of street water ponding making it almost impossible to turn the steering wheel. I have experienced a number of scary situations that make driving this car in wet elements very very difficult. As a result I generally refrain from driving altogether under these conditions. This dangerous problem must be fixed soon! I HAVE MENTIONED THIS PROBLEM IN THE PAST TO MY LOCAL DEALER (TOYOTA OF DALLAS)

LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST
The lane assist is turned off, but it continues to operate against my wishes. I turned the lane assist on and off numerous occasions in an attempt to “reboot “ it. But the lane departure assist is still continuously on even when the dashboard indicates it is turned off. It is clearly an electrical or software problem.

SUSPENSION, SERVICE BRAKES
Starting in 2023, around 80,000 miles, my 2014 Toyota Camry Hybrid has started pulling to either side under braking. I replaced the pads & rotors at my local Toyota dealer in September and it actually made the problem worse. November 22 of this year, the master technician at my dealership found multiple lower suspension bolts loose. They re-torqued everything to spec and the issue has not been resolved. I have reached out to Toyota corporate and informed them of the issue. Parts have been ordered for a separate Customer Support Program to fix the brake booster system, which makes noise in the pedal, but is independent of this complaint. We will be reinspecting in greater detail to provide information to Toyota.

The contact owns a 2009 Toyota Camry. The contact stated while driving approximately 30 MPH, he became aware that the heater was not working. The contact later checked under the hood and observed that the coolant reservoir was empty. The contact refilled the coolant reservoir and checked for any leaks or puddles of coolant underneath the vehicle but found no evidence of a coolant leak. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the engine block was cracked in two places and that coolant had leaked into the engine and the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 141,943.

The xle Camry 2018 models moonroof/sunroof, stops working and there is no safety close option for the moonroof. It gets stuck open and the only option to get it to close is a $10,000 repair. I have extended warranty that will cover this plus 14 days of a car rental, but the dealership cannot guarantee when the parts will be in, so I have approximately more than 30 days for my car to be repaired. So I still have to pay more than $1600 for fees plus car rental and no assistance from Toyota. (this is including there is more than 3 cars at the dealership with the same issue).

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, AIR BAGS
The contact owned a 2023 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that while stopped at the red traffic light with her disabled daughter sitting in the rear driver's side seat, the vehicle lurched forward abruptly and hit the rear of another occupied vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the front end of the vehicle was damaged. The front driver's side and front passenger's side air bags, and unknown rear air bags exploded while deploying. Additionally, there was smoke coming from the steering wheel and the steering wheel was significantly hot. The contact stated that both her and her disabled daughter were unable to exit the vehicle because the air bags were obstructing. A bystander assisted the contact and her daughter out of the vehicle. The contact sustained soreness on the neck and the buttocks, and a swollen left knee and left ankle. The contact's daughter sustained a laceration on the neck and neck pain. Both the contact and her daughter received medical assistance. The contact was unsure whether the other driver sustained any injuries. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot, where it was totaled. A police report was filed. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

Gas tank does not open. There’s a button that you press and sounds like it’s jammed. I went through the trunk to pull the yellow handle (looked online and seen others have this issue also) and it does not work on my car. I have to have someone press the button while I use my keys to go on the side to push it open.

Car came to shop with low beam headlights flashing when high beams are on they still flash the vehicle has L.E.D. headlights it is a 22 toyota camry vehicle hasnt been inspected by the dealer there is a message in the system for led headlight problem for the left front but not the right front the right front flashes more than the left it will eventually quit but if you turn the car on with just ignition they will also flash

To the esteemed officials of the US Department of Transportation, My name is [XXX] and I am the owner of a 2015 Toyota Camry SE. I recently had my car repaired for a completely separate issue and while I addressed a problem with the steering, my mechanic made me aware of a 2015 recall for the Electrical Power Steering electronic control unit. I was provided with information regarding it. While my VIN number was not listed as an automobile affected by this issue, it is evident that this is what's occurring. My days have been spent on the phone with the manufacturer and was told numerous times that my VIN number was not identified in said recall. As a result, I was told not to drive my car due to it being a safety concern, meaning I could lose overall control of the car, and I am now lacking transportation. Please advise on how to proceed, I would like to get this matter resolved in a reasonable time. The contact owns a 2014 Toyota Camry. The contact stated while driving 35-45 MPH, the front end of the vehicle was shuddering significantly. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring more frequently while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the torque converter had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact related the failure to Toyota Campaign Number: ZE5. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 52,000.

The ABS brake actuator, part 44510-30270, initially failed in January of 2021 while traveling on the highway from Los Angeles to San Francisco. The VSC (vehicle stability control system) message appeared accompanied by multiple warning lights, followed by severely limited braking ability which endangered my family during high speed traffic on the 5 freeway. I purchased a used actuator on eBay immediately, it lasted not quite 2 years (it's 2023), it has now failed. I recently purchased a new used actuator pump again, and it has failed immediately. There is obviously a design flaw with this part, yet YOU (NHTSA) and Toyota refuse to address it properly. There is no reason why this device has not been recalled other than negligence. You need to reopen this case, and force Toyota to recall this part before someone is injured or worse!

The contact owns a 2023 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 25 MPH, the brake pedal was depressed and extended to the floor while depressed. Additionally, the engine started to rev before the vehicle momentarily experienced unintended acceleration. The contact stated that the failure occurred for approximately 25 seconds before the brake pedal and engine operated normally. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 6,000.

LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST, LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING, STEERING
When I turn off the LTA switch, it stays on..in other words the steering is affected, and warning beeps sound when I cross into another lane. This is both irritating and dangerous. I brought it in to Orland Toyota for service. The service advisor related that the Technician who worked on it said the computer in the car shows that it’s working properly, and they are going with that. When I protested, he said there is nothing they can do about it..He further said that I would have to turn off the sway warning every time I turn on the car.The service manager told me that cars he drive home every night, sometimes have problems with the LTA. The only entry re this problem on my service receipt is: “Tech: HOUSE TECH (996) Internal”. The problem began right after the vehicle turned 24,000 miles and persists to the present.
