SERVICE BRAKES, BACK OVER PREVENTION: REARVIEW SYSTEM BRAKING, BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS
A yellow traffic light was lit and I started braking, then I heard a loud bang/snap and the trucks brake pedal went to the floor and would not stop. I then had to use the parking brake to stop the truck.

The contact owns a 2018 Ram 3500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the ABS warning light illuminated. Additionally, when the brake pedal was depressed, the vehicle failed to stop immediately. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed as an ABS module and hydraulic control unit (HCU) failure; however, the part to do the repair was not yet available. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.

I have had my ram 3500 for 6000 miles and first time had a issue with the abs and traction control light flashing and disabling abs and traction control took to dealer they replaced the abs module and reprogrammed test drove with no issues not even 3000 miles later the issue starts again I take it back to the dealer and they state that it is a known issue with the module and hcu needs to be replaced quoted over 1000 dollars and said the parts are not able to be ordered till August of 2023

PARKING BRAKE, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:ANTILOCK/TRACTION CONTROL/ELECTRONIC LIMITED SLIP:ABS WARNING LIGHT
The contact owns a 2018 Ram 3500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle experienced complete brake failure. While driving, the brake pedal was depressed but was stiff and slow to respond. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the hydro-boost needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. While driving, the contact stated that the brake pedal was firm. The parking brake failed to engage fully. The vehicle was taken back to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that the brake master cylinder and ABS module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case, but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

POWER TRAIN
Transmission quit working without notice and left me stranded in the roadway with my children in the vehicle. The dealership will not replace with a new transmission because of problems with the new same transmission, instead requesting to rebuild with some updated parts. As far as I know the dealership is the only place to check the issue. Check engine light illuminated only once the transmission stopped working.

SERVICE BRAKES, BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS
The reason for this report is to let you know that my anti lock brake system has been malfunctioning for at least 10k miles. This is the same symptoms that you can read about on the internet. Flashing warning lights on the dash board and loss of cruise control. The warning alarm for the most part now is alerting continuously. When it first started the Chrysler dealer said that it was no longer in warranty. The truck is still like new and has 55k miles. The contact owns a 2018 Ram 3500. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, a message indicating “Service Needed” was displayed, and the traction control and ABS warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, an alarm was audible. The contact was able to continue driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the ABS module was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the ABS module needed to be replaced; however, the part was not available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and shipped the part to the dealer; however, the dealer informed the contact that there was no guarantee that the part replacement would fix the vehicle because the replacement part was the same. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Action Number: PE22012 (Services Brakes, Hydraulic). The failure mileage was approximately 4,000.

The contact owns a 2013 Ram 3500. The contact stated that the tailgate would fall open unintendedly while driving and the tailgate would fail to close securely after several attempts. The contact stated that the failure occurred several times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the tailgate was replaced under NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V347000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages); however, the failure reoccurred while the contact was attempting to drive off the dealer's parking lot. The vehicle remained at the dealer. The contact stated that the following day, the dealer was able to close the tailgate securely; however, the failure persisted while driving. The dealer notified the manufacturer of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 4,000.

The K1 clutch snap ring failed causing a sudden loss of all forward motion while towing. Vehicle is currently at dealership service center. The loss of all forward motion caused a breakdown while towing, placing me and my family at risk while stranded and blocking road. With the vehicle (and towed fifth wheel) blocking the road, it also put other drivers at risk of crash. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed by dealer. The component has not been inspected to my knowledge. Several seconds before the losing forward motion I saw the MIL lamp come on along with message of "4 wheel drive not available". It also dropped me out of tow/haul mode, I believe.

K1 snap ring failure at 2,950 miles. Vehicle currently in dealer possession. Available for inspection. Safety risk as vehicle was towing during failure causing loss of forward gears, and potential loss of control of vehicle being towed. Especially hazardous to other unsuspecting motorists around vehicle when loss of forward gears happened traveling on highway. Dealer has completed diagnostic. States clutch and other components were destroyed at time of failure. Vehicle has not gone under any inspection other than dealer. No prior warnings, or symptoms to indicate such a failure was to occur.

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The local dealer was notified of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the part was not yet available. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

The contact stated while her son was driving at highway speeds, an abnormal noise started coming from the vehicle, and the vehicle lost motive power and stalled without warning. Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed with transmission failure. The vehicle remained in the dealer's possession for two months before the repair was completed. Soon after the vehicle was returned, the failure recurred while driving at highway speeds. The vehicle was towed to an unknown dealer where it remained. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000.

POWER TRAIN
My vehicle suffered a complete transmission failure without any warning signs. Transmission completely stoppped working in Downtown Atlanta during rush hour traffic leaving me stranded in middle of 7 lanes of traffic. Vehicle was towed to dealer and diagnosed failure was due to failed snap ring in transmission. It is a known problem in 22'-23' model year Ram 3500, 4500, 5500 trucks. Ram calls it the K1 snap ring TSB. reference attached spreadsheet. Over app. 40 day period 127 trucks have all been confirmed to have same exact issue. Ram has limited supply of repair parts available. Average time to get customers truck back on the road is currently averaging 37 days. my dealer told me to figure 2-3 months of down time. I was told service centers can only order 1 K1 TSB Parts kits every 7 days and they take roughly a month to receive. I was told there are 4 truck in his service center ahead of mine that still need same parts kits ordered. I have been trying for 7 days now (multiple times a day) to get a case agent from Ram customer care to return my calls. Still have not received a return phone call.

I HAVE 2018 RAM 3500 THAT KEEPS SHOWING THE MESSAGE THAT I HAVE NO ABS OR TRACTION CONTROL. MY MAIN CONCERN IS STEERING AND BRAKES ARE THE TWO MOST IMPORTANT PARTS OF CONTROL AND THAT THEY ARE COMPROMISED BY FAULTY PARTS THAT YOU CANT REPLACE BECAUSE OF BACK ORDERS AND ON TOP OF THAT WHEN YOU REPLACE THEM THERE IS A CHANCE THAT THEY GO BAD AGAIN ACCORDING TO ALL THE PROBLEMS I HAVE BEEN READING ON FORUMS. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED.WE PAY ENTIRELY TO MUCH MONEY FOR A TRUCK THAT HAVE INFERIOR BRAKE PARTS!!!!!!!
