SEAT BELTS
I purchased this new ram in 2023. About 18 months just over 36k miles on vehicle drivers side seat belt quit retracting leaving it loose on my chest. I reported this to dealership and apparently Ram would not warranty as it was over 36k miles. I got a quote to repair, and it was over 500.00 dollars to replace the retractor. Now obviously this is a safety concern because my seat belt is loose fitting. I didn't repair as i was upset and felt taken advantage of. Then about a year later my passenger rear seat belt quit working where my [XXX] son rides as it is the safest place in the vehicle. I called my dealer again and same response now the quote is over a thousand dollars. I paid 73K for this vehicle and how is it the most basic safety equipment required by law to wear isn't covered by the Manufactures. I called Ram made a complaint and was given a claim number for cost assistance to replace seat belts only to later get a call back by case supervisor saying there would be no assitance as it was against strict guidelines that RAM was not responible and would not help. Im super frustrated and am looking for any avenue to get help bringing justice to the consumer. Local dealers were contacted and advised the contact that the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that the part was not yet available for the recall repair. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The vehicle was parked at the residence and had not been driven since due to safety concerns. The contact had not experienced a failure.

Ram is refusing to repair and item on my truck egr cooler is cracked, leaking and burning coolant. They have recalled every year model but mine. All have same issue, all have same part and part number. Dealership suggested I contact NTSB to see if I could get it recalled. It is said to cause ifres in some trucks

I own a 2023 Ram 2500 equipped with the 6.7L Cummins diesel and 68RFE automatic transmission. The vehicle has experienced ongoing transmission malfunction issues including extremely harsh shifting, intermittent RPM flare during gear changes, delayed engagement, and sudden lurching during acceleration and deceleration. The issue occurs most commonly during low-speed acceleration and normal driving conditions. The transmission will sometimes flare RPM between gears and then slam into the next gear. At other times the vehicle will lurch forward unexpectedly around approximately 35–45 mph. The behavior is inconsistent and unpredictable. Some drives appear normal while others produce severe shifting events. This condition creates a safety concern because the vehicle can surge or jerk unexpectedly during normal driving and while towing. I regularly tow a small enclosed trailer and these sudden shift events create instability and loss of smooth power delivery. The vehicle has been inspected multiple times by an authorized Ram dealership. The dealer has attempted repairs including transmission diagnostics and valve body replacement. The condition has continued despite repair attempts. The vehicle has also remained out of service at the dealership for extended periods of time while the manufacturer attempts to diagnose the issue. No warning lights consistently appear prior to the failure. The symptoms occur intermittently after the vehicle reaches operating temperature and sometimes after driving several miles. This issue has been confirmed by the dealership and the manufacturer has been involved in the case. The vehicle remains unrepaired after multiple attempts. Because this is a heavy-duty truck that frequently tows loads, the sudden harsh shifting and unpredictable transmission behavior creates a potential safety risk to the driver and surrounding traffic.

My brand new truck started shaking while accelerating past 65mph. The shaking was not dampened by the suspension at all. (I.e. it kept the same or increased strength). The shaking could cause damage, excessive loosening or wear of critical components and lead to a serious accident at these speeds. It is similar to the "death wobble", but not as violent. It occurred multiple times. The shaking occurred without going over large bumps. I took it to a dealership and they did a load balance and alignment without resolving the problem. They noted a wheel was warped and moved it from the front to the back. This did not solve the problem. It seemed to prevent the shaking if I just tap the gas and wait a few seconds instead of holding it. The transition in and out of eco mode (4 to 8 cylinders) should be looked into.

POWER TRAIN
At approximately 1750 miles the truck transmission began to shift in lower gears extremely violently. Every time that truck would shift in this manner, it would cause a startle effect and divert my attention away from driving to trying to determine what was going on. I immediately took the truck to my local Ram repair shop where they found metal shavings in the transmission oil pan. They told me I would need a completely new transmission. This is unacceptable with a truck with only 1750 miles on it. The dealership said they would need authorization to replace the transmission and not sure if one would be readily available. This is the fourth time this vehicle will have been at this repair facility. The first three times were for a fault code called Turbo under boost. Way too much downtime for a truck with only 1750 miles. We had to postpone our vacation since this is the only vehicle I own that’s capable of towing our boat and trailer. Because of all these issues, we have not been able to tow the trailer one time with our new truck!!!!!! When I asked the dealership what they thought the problem was they said quality control at the factory and a subpar designed for the product. If Ram doesn’t change the design of this transmission, even with a new transmission installed, I am scared this may happen again and then cause an accident.

The contact owns a 2022 Ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the RPM fluctuated. Additionally, the vehicle made an abnormal sound while slowing down to come to a stop. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who discovered burnt transmission fluid and replaced the transmission, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer; however, the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.

i WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 50MPH ON A HIGHWAY AS I WAS APPROACHING VEHICLES STOPPED FOR A TRAFFIC LIGHT I APPLIED MY BRAKES NORMALLY AND THE TRUCK WOULD NOT SLOW DOWN SO I PRESSED ON THE BRAKES AS HARD AS I COULD AND THE CAR JUST CONTINUED FORWARD TILL FINALLY I PLOWED INTO THE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. I HAD NO BRAKES, THE ABS NEVER KICKED ON OR THE VSC.

BRAKE CONTROL INTERMITTENTLY FAIL TO WORK. NOT ABLE TO STOP 15,000 LB TRAILER. WEIGHT PUSHS VEICHLE OUT OF CONTROL. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? NEVER DOES IT FOR THE DEALER OR INDEPENDENT SERVICE CENTER AND THEY TOW MY TRAILER AROUND SEVERAL TIMES. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? DEALER & SERVICE CENTER Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? NO NO HOW DO I GET HELP IT IS A 2022 RAM 2500 BROUGHT NEW BY ME AND STARTED HAVING TROUBLE OFF AND ON SINCE THE FIRST 1,000 MILES AND NOW HAVE 26,000 MILES. I READ ABOUT THE RECALLS ON THE 2024 2025 RAM 2500 3500 MODELS WITH AN ENGINEERING PROBLEM ON TWO DIFFERENT VENDORS MAKING CONTROLERS FOR FCA.

SEAT BELTS
The seatbelt retraction system on my truck has been replaced twice on the drivers side and once on the passenger side. The truck only has 40,000miles. The seatbelt retractors don't keep the shoulder strap tight when you move or get the belt first buckled. This can cause an issue if you are to get in an accident when the belt is not tight against your shoulder.

The dealer was contacted to schedule an appointment; however, the dealer informed the contact that the part to do the recall repair was not yet available because the manufacturer instructed the dealers that the parts should be prioritized for fleet vehicles first. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed uphill and hauling a load, the vehicle failed to respond while depressing the brake pedal. The vehicle decelerated while driving up the incline. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 2,000.

AIR BAGS, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
Airbags did not deploy during a significant accident where (self) Dodge Ram 2500 Laramie 2024 truck was involved in 2 front on collisions hitting 2 different vehicles at approx 65 mph (about 5 mins apart) including a 3rd part to the accident with a rear collision by a full speed tractor trailer moving the (dodge) truck about 200 ft. into the 2nd parked vehicle (blue sedan). Dodge truck (self) was not drivable after the initial accident into the chevy truck. No auto breaking and no frontal collision warning (uncertain if they are standard for the trucks or an option) occurred. The vehicle was towed and in a tow lot (is available for inspection). There is a police report and followed up with an ER visit same day. At least 3 vehicles were totaled due to this accident. The initially hit vehicle (white chevy truck) was the cause of the accident.

During my research I was able to find recall 75b that aligns with the exactly with my current set of issues. 24v-653 is the NHTSA recall number associated. I need that recall added to my vehicle so I can get the very unsafe issue fixed

Head on collision on February 19, 2026 in a 2023 Ram 2500 Rebel. Air bags did not deploy anywhere in the vehicle even though driver was traveling 55-60 MPH. Significant damage occurred in front of vehicle as well as all along the passenger side of the vehicle. Pictures will be provided showing damage and no air bags being deployed.

Spongy brakes, constant pumping of brakes to aid in stoping but check this out! In 4x4 mode Low 4x4 brake failure is almost 90%! I must mash the brakes as the brake peddle falls to the floor, then wait, brace and pray truck comes to come to a stop!!!!

Vehicle: 2023 Ram 2500 Diesel (6.7L Cummins) – approx. 36,000 miles, under factory warranty Complaint Summary: Our 2023 Ram 2500 diesel is producing visible smoke from the engine bay and a persistent ticking/clicking noise from the engine. This occurs while driving and at idle. We have video evidence of smoke coming from under the hood and recordings of the abnormal engine noise. Safety Concerns: The smoke creates a serious fire hazard and risk of mechanical failure. Engine-bay smoke can indicate an electrical short, fuel or oil leak, overheating component, or exhaust/turbo malfunction. This poses a risk of engine compartment fire, including the possibility of fire after the vehicle is turned off. NHTSA Recall 23V-060 for 2021–2023 Ram HD diesels describes electrical failures that can cause under-hood fires, showing this vehicle line has known fire-related safety issues. The smoke also presents a health and inhalation risk, especially to our children who ride in the vehicle. Diesel/exhaust fumes entering the cabin can cause respiratory irritation and impair driver alertness. A sudden escalation could result in loss of power, breakdown, or fire while driving. Dealer Response: We brought the vehicle to an authorized Ram dealership in February 2026. Despite the truck being fully under warranty, the dealer stated that because there is “no active recall,” they will not repair or further diagnose the problem. No meaningful corrective action was taken. Evidence Available: Videos showing smoke from the engine bay, audio/video of the ticking noise, and dealership service paperwork. We are requesting NHTSA investigate this as a potential safety defect due to fire risk, toxic fume exposure, and the manufacturer’s failure to address a dangerous condition in a nearly new, warrantied vehicle. We are paying on this vehicle monthly, are scared to drive with our children in the car. We have to pull over and not drive the vehicle due to how strong the cabin odor is.
