The abs keeps randomly disabling and then coming back on. When this happens, the cruise control is canceled which causes a sudden change in speed unexpectedly. Also, the 4x4 gets disabled. I believe the issue is this: hydraulic control unit can malfunction, impacting ABS, electronic stability control, and traction control performance software issue in the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) control module that can disable the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system, potentially increasing the risk of a crash.

Electronic power steering intermittently fails while driving. This truck has had this issue for months, happens regularly once or twice a week or every 100 so miles. Two repair shops could not replicate the issues. And there is no codes on the scanner. After researching this seems to be a common concern and safety issue on this model/year of ram 1500.

- #11652898April 4, 2025ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, STEERING
There is a high whining noise followed by a loss of power steering. There is a recall for the EPs system that stopped in 2019; however, 2020 is still using the same part. The recall should be extended to cover all vehicles manufactured using the part numbers associated with this issue. My truck is only at 50k miles, never off-roaded or abused, and maintained religiously by my personal mechanic. I was driving at 78 mph, and the steering locked up due to this issue. This created a hazardous scenario for me. The wheel released moments later, causing me to overcorrect and almost hit another car traveling on the highway in the adjacent lane. This has happened several times over the past week. I have adjusted my driving style until I can afford this VERY costly repair.

The tailgate has opened on its own twice in the last 6-8 months. This puts a risk for other vehicles if it were to open randomly. To my knowledge this was supposed to not happen after recall 22V904000. This vehicle has not been inspected since seeing this issue and no warning lights happened when this occurred, one specifically had been closed for around 24 hours then randomly opened after car had not been driven.

The rear window (backlite) has a known manufacturing defect that allows water intrusion, potentially damaging the RF hub and creating conditions conducive to mold growth (see TSB 23-098-23). My vehicle has been affected by this defect, yet FCA has only extended the warranty to select vehicles, excluding others of the same year, make, and model that are clearly impacted by the same issue. This defect has led to saturated floor boards/carpet under the rear seats and has lead to the growth of mold.

This is the second time this has happened (03APR25). The first time this occurred, 20JUL25, I had to pay (Bill attached) to have the ABS Module replaced. Today several service lights came on not limited to: Service 4wd, 4wd Trans Case overheat, stabilization system, and the traction control light came on along with the 4wd High light and both the 4wd High and 4wd Low indicator lights were all flashing. When parked the emergency parking brake was automatically set. (break) I have all the documentation from the first occurrence and an additional recall notice (Attached) of which states contact the dealer, whom said that it was not their responsibility. Then I contacted Stellantis recall office, and they said they would get back with me and never have and today most all the sensor faults flashed on the display. The truck locked in 4 high up until I parked it.

1. Safety Issue 1: Cracked Exhaust Manifold & Exhaust Leak Description: Loud knocking noise on startup, strong exhaust fumes entering cabin. Dealer Diagnosis: Both exhaust manifolds cracked, multiple broken bolts. Risk: Potential carbon monoxide poisoning, engine damage, and fire hazard. Dealer Response: Refused repair, quoted $3,500. No assistance from Chrysler. Pattern Failure: Online forums show many owners with identical issues—clearly a manufacturing defect. 2. Safety Issue 2: Dashboard Delamination & Toxic Fumes Description: Dashboard surface peeling, strong chemical odor in cabin. Risk: Toxic off-gassing causes headaches/nausea; peeling material obstructs visibility. Pattern Failure: Widespread reports for this model/year—faulty adhesive is to blame. Manufacturer Negligence: Chrysler and dealerships are aware but refuse responsibility, blaming "wear and tear." Exhaust leaks and toxic interiors are unacceptable safety hazards—yet no recall exists. Request to NHTSA: Investigate these defects for potential recall. Force Chrysler to acknowledge and repair affected vehicles. Urgency: Driving this vehicle is a health risk. NHTSA must act before more are harmed.

The Alternator Generator (MGU) failed and I was driving on the road when it happened causing the electronics to start going dark one after the other then dark screen and lost power steering. Thank God I was close to the side of the road and rolled out of traffic's way. The truck was towed to the mechanic who confirmed it is the MGU. The problem is that this part is on back order with no ETA. So I have a 2020 RAM Laramie with 39,000 miles only sitting in the shop. If this happened on the highway, an accident would have been guaranteed. I was simply lucky.

The Dealer did not complete this Safety Recall, They refused to follow up with the repair description of 73A which is part of this 66A they both have the same NHSTA Number. The vehicle seems to be more difficult to drive after getting it back from the dealer. I also noticed new cosmetic damages, and a missing cover under the fender-well. The vehicle was returned to me with an incomplete recall. "Jun 08,2023 Manufacturer Recall Number66A NHTSA Recall Number23V-411 Recall StatusRecall Incomplete Summary The magnetic material attached to the reluctor wheel provides a signal to the crankshaft position sensor. If this signal material is lost, the engine loses its ability to synchronize injector pulses and cam timing. This loss of crankshaft position can result in an engine stall, as well as loss of the ability to restart the engine. Safety Risk A loss of motive power can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning. Remedy FCA US will conduct a voluntary safety recall on all affected vehicles to update the powertrain control module software (FCA US Recall ID 66A) or, in some cases, replace the tone wheel (FCA US Recall ID 73A). In cases wherein the Approved Emissions Modification was not installed in Subject Vehicles owned or leased by an Eligible Owner or Eligible Lessee who did not request such installation pursuant to paragraph 23 or did not accept Defendants' offer to install pursuant to paragraphs 37 and 38, wherein such capitalized terms and paragraph references are part of that certain Consent Decree ordered effective May 3, 2019 by the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, San Francisco Division, in the matter of IN RE: CHRYSLER-DODGE-JEEP ECODIESEL MARKETING, SALES PRACTICES, AND PRODUCTS LIABILITY LITIGATION, No. 3:17-md-02777-EMC, FCA US will replace the tone wheel (FCA US Recall ID 73A)."

On two separate occasions the engine shut off at low speeds and the emergency brake engaged. On both occasions there was no warning of any kind. The car restarted and ran fine until shortly after the first two instances a "low voltage" light illuminated prompting me to research and learn that the shut off problem is well known. I took it to the dealer who confirmed the issue and assured me it was fixed with a software update. Two weeks after the "repair" I was driving at highway speeds and the "low voltage" light illuminated and the car shut off and the emergency brake engaged. After I managed to get off the road it would not restart. It was towed to the dealership who kept it for 2 1/2 months. This time they replaced the MGU. I picked it up and less than a week later the "check engine" light illuminated. I returned it to the dealership who confirmed it's the same issue. To date the manufacturer is unwilling to acknowledge the problem or help. I was informed today that it was "fixed" (this time "battery pack") but I'm afraid to drive it after my life was placed in danger after two "fixes". It has been in their possession for over 3 months and it would be illogical to believe they understand the root cause and that the issue is truly fixed. I will not drive it until I'm assured it is safe as I don't want to put myself or other lives in danger. They appear to be guessing at the cause and at best replacing parts with the same flawed parts into the same flawed design and are unwilling to accept responsibility. This vehicle is dangerous.
