SummaryPassenger Knee Air Bag Dealer Inventory *****Dealer Announcement***** Nissan is now escalating the temporary hold on 20 specific model year 2022 LEAF® vehicles identified in Service Comm to a dealer inventory quality action to replace the right (passenger) knee air bag due to a potential supplier manufacturing concern. Affected vehicles are subject to stop sale and are either currently in dealer inventory or assigned and in transit to the dealer. *****What Dealers Should Do***** 1. Verify if vehicles are affected by this quality action using Service Comm or DBS National Service History â Open Campaigns I.D. PC858 ⢠New vehicles in dealer inventory can also be identified using DBS (Sales-> Vehicle Inventory, and filter by Open Campaign). ï§ Refer to NPSB 15-460 for additional information ⢠Some vehicles may still be in transit. Please continue to check newly arriving inventory for applicability. 2. Please do not drive, loan, sell or trade the specific vehicles in dealer inventory subject to this quality action. 3. Use the attached procedure to remedy any vehicles affected by this quality action: ⢠Parts are on restriction and may be ordered via DBS. Parts will be orderable via normal ordering process on February 15, 2022. 4. The service department should submit the applicable warranty claim for the action performed so it can be closed on Service Comm and release the vehicle.

This commitment requires Nissan to periodically place certain vehicles on temporary Quality Assurance (QA) Hold to ensure that these vehicles, as delivered to our customers, meet our exacting standards and our customersâ expectations. Effective immediately, Nissan is placing a temporary Quality Assurance Hold on 43 specific model year 2022 LEAF® vehicles identified in Service Comm. Nissan is investigating a potential supplier manufacturing concern for the side-brackets of the passenger knee airbag module. *****What Dealers Should Do***** 1. Verify if vehicles are affected by this quality hold using Service Comm or DBS National Service History â Open Campaigns I.D. PC858 ⢠New vehicles in dealer inventory can also be identified using DBS (Sales-> Vehicle Inventory, and filter by Open Campaign). ï§ Refer to NPSB 15-460 for additional information ⢠Some vehicles may still be in transit. Summary2018-2021 LEAF AND 2017-2020 ROGUE; STEERING WHEEL CHROME FINISHER REPLACEMENT SERVICE INFORMATION If the chrome finisher on the steering wheel needs to be replaced, the chrome finisher can be ordered separately from the steering wheel. SERVICE PROCEDURE 1. Remove the driver side air bag module. ï· For removal of the driver side air bag module, refer to the Electronic Service Manual (ESM), section REPAIR â RESTRAINTS â SRS AIRBAG â REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION â DRIVER AIR BAG MODULE. NOTE: ï· When removing the chrome finisher from the steering wheel, reference Figure 2 for the 6 attachment points. ï· During removal of the chrome finisher (step 2 on page 3), pull on the chrome finisher just enough to release the pawls from the steering wheel.

SummaryPREVENT FRONT AXLE THREAD DAMAGE DURING NUT REMOVAL SERVICE INFORMATION If an Applied Vehicle needs to have a front axle nut removed, for any reason, the staking of the nut into the axle keyway must first be removed. The essential tool (part number # J-52982, Figure 1) required to remove the nut staking, is called out as a âCape Chiselâ in the Electronic Service Manual (ESM), and must be used to prevent thread damage to the axle (see Figure 2 on page 2). ï· The Cape Chisel arrived at dealers in December of 2020. ï· Damaged threads, due to improper removal of the stake placed in the nut, will not be covered by warranty. For information on using the Cape Chisel, refer to the Electronic Service Manual (ESM): Section TRANSMISSION & DRIVELINE > FRONT AXLE > REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION > FRONT DRIVE SHAFT > LH/RH.
