THIS ACTION IS NECESSARY AS THE AFFECTED CARS HAVE AN EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS CONTROL SYSTEM PURGE HOSE WHICH COULD CONTACT THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT BULKHEAD AND RUB THROUGH, RESULTING IN VARYING DEGREES OF ENGINE IDLE VARIATIONS AND ROUGH RUNNING. TO CORRECT THIS CONDITION DEALERS ARE TO INSPECT THE PURGE HOSE FOR PROPER CLEARANCE. IF THE CLEARANCE IS LESS THAN 1 1/2 INCHES, THE HOS IS TO BE REMOVED, SHORTENED AND REINSTALLED. *TW
