SummaryVOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN: DEALER PRINCIPAL MEMO - This document is the announcement to the dealer principals that Kia America, Inc. is conducting a Voluntary Service Campaign on the following vehicles: Certain 2022 MY Sorento vehicles manufactured from December 8, 2021 through May 23, 2022. Certain 2022 MY Telluride vehicles manufactured from November 29, 2021 through September 1, 2022. Certain 2022-2023 MY K5 vehicles manufactured from December 7, 2021 through September 12, 2022. The Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit (HECU) controls the vehicle's Electronic Parking Brake (EPB), Electronic Stability Control System (ESC), and Auto-Hold features, among other related functions. The HECU in these vehicles may have been produced by the supplier with a condition that can result in an internal brake fluid leak. If an internal brake fluid leak occurs, the vehicle's EPB light, ABS light, ESC light, Auto-Hold light, and/or Forward Collision Avoidance Assist light may illuminate, or a Smart Cruise Control (SCC) warning message may appear on the instrument cluster. If this occurs, EPB, ESC, and Auto Hold functions may be disabled.

Some MFC assemblies contain software that may not activate haptic feedback or audibly alert the driver when lane departure is detected, although visual lane departure alerts on the instrument cluster continue to function if the Lane Departure Warning (LDW) is enabled by the driver. This issue does not affect other driver assistance features, such as Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Smart Cruise Control (SCC), Highway Driving Assist (HDA), or Forward Collision Avoidance Assist (FCA), if equipped on the vehicle and enabled by the driver.

This pitstop provides the KDS service procedure for mileage setting on the models listed below with newly replaced instrument clusters. Certain models allow for mileage setting with the KDS, which prevents the need to send out the instrument cluster to a 3rd party for mileage adjustment (refer to PS264). After a new cluster is installed, cluster (variant) coding may also need to be conducted using the KDS. Make sure the KDS software is also updated to the latest version. Mileage setting should be performed by using the KDS only, as described in this bulletin.

The creep test can be conducted by driving at a speed slower than 5 mph after releasing the brake.
