While driving on I-95 on 11/14/25, the passenger headrest suddenly and unexpectedly exploded forward with great force while I was sitting in the seat. We were not in an accident or collision. The headrest is now push so far forward that it pushes my face down toward my chest. We cannot reset the head rest to its original position and there is some broken plastic inside the headrest mechanism. A warranty extension has been issued for this known problem with 2014-2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles. When I called my dealership, I was told that my vehicle model was NOT included in this warranty extension.

- #11700210November 18, 2025ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, UNKNOWN OR OTHER, BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS
Hello, I am reaching out to formally escalate an ongoing safety concern with my vehicle’s reverse guidance system, which continues to malfunction despite multiple service visits. This issue directly affects my ability to safely operate the vehicle and creates a daily hazard while backing up. I have already taken my vehicle to the dealership multiple times, and each attempt has failed to resolve the problem long-term. I have also contacted Jeep Corporate and was assigned Case Number, which has since been escalated to a case manager. However, the issue remains unresolved, and I am no closer to a permanent fix. This problem is especially concerning given the recent Jeep recalls involving camera, rear-visibility, and electrical/software issues. The recurring malfunction in my reverse guidance system appears to be directly aligned with the types of failures documented in these recalls, further reinforcing that this is not an isolated defect. At this time, I am requesting the following: 1.Immediate review and escalation of my case. 2.A definitive corrective action plan to permanently repair the reverse guidance system. 3.Confirmation on whether my vehicle qualifies for any recall-related repairs, software updates, or component replacements related to rear-visibility systems. 4.If the issue cannot be corrected, I am requesting that Jeep explore goodwill options, including replacement or repurchase consideration, given the repeated failures and ongoing safety risk. I have been patient throughout this process, but the unresolved malfunction of a critical safety system is unacceptable. Please respond as soon as possible with next steps. Thank you, [XXX] [XXX] [[email protected]] Vin [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact noticed on the Mobile App, that the battery was charging every 3–5 hours. In addition, the contact stated that the failure had started immediately after a service appointment with the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The dealer was made aware of the failure; however, the contact was informed that parts were not available to repair the vehicle. In addition, the contact was informed that a diagnostic test was needed, but because the parts were not available, the vehicle could not be repaired. The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V741000 (Electrical System) and NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V766000 (Engine); however, parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The contact was advised to take the vehicle to the dealer for a diagnostic test. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000.

The monostable shifter malfunctions constantly. Safety-related concerns include it not staying in park when parked, rolling has occurred; not being able to start due to it not actually being in park; it will switch gear while driving and vehicle will go into limp mode and shut off within seconds, then will not be able to restart. I cannot count on it starting or getting me anywhere safely and have towed multiple times now. The problem has unfortunately not been reproduced or realized by local dealership even with ‘service shifter’, ‘until you reach a desired location you may not be able to shift again NO BUS’, and engine light warning lights appearing when driven. It has been taken twice to John Hiester Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Sanford. (NC). I have spoken with Jeep Customer Care to no avail and the answer is take to a certified dealership but that option is proving to not be successful. I purchased in February 2025 but became disabled right after and haven’t realized it’s very major issues. Not being able to use my vehicle is quite isolating [XXX]. This vehicle is subject to Safety Recall 68C for battery fire risk. The manufacturer issued a directive to park outside away from structures and do not charge the vehicle due to extreme fire risk. Despite having an open case with Jeep, there have been three failed supervisor callbacks with no resolution provided. The remedy is not yet available. The owner refuses to drive this vehicle and refuses to allow his wife to drive it due to serious safety concerns. If the car catches fire while she is driving, there is fear she will not have enough time to protect herself. This is an extremely scary and dangerous situation for the family. Additionally, the owner fears the house could catch fire while sleeping because of this vehicle parked nearby, even following the manufacturer's parking directive. This recall creates an impossible hardship - the vehicle cannot be safely driven or charged, yet no buyback or replacement has been offered. The vehicle was recently purchased in December 2024 and now sits unusable at 39,000 miles due to this unresolved safety defect. The manufacturer has failed to provide a timely remedy despite multiple contact attempts. A full vehicle buyback or replacement with a non-affected model is the only acceptable resolution to this extreme safety risk.

This applies to ALL vehicles not just this one. The bulbs should be designed and able to be changed in the lot of a store not only by a dealer. I will be forwarding this to my rep and the White House. This BS has been going on for decades and this department has allowed this extreme safety concern to continue. Lights can burn out anywhere and anytime and to make this dealer maintenance is BS since they all have backlogs, limited hours and limited qualified workers.

THE ISSUE IS IN STARTING THE VEHICLE. WHEN I PUSH THE START BUTTON, THE VEHICLE STARTS, BUT THE ENGINE CONTINUES TO TURN WITHOUT STOPPING AND TURNING OVER. I THEN PUSH THE START BUTTON AGAIN TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE AND MAKE ANOTHER ATTEMPT, AND THEN IT WILL START NORMALLY. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES IN THE LAST FEW WEEKS. ALSO, SOMETIMES WHEN YOU PUSH THE START BUTTON, NOTHING HAPPENS, AND THE VEHICLE WILL NOT START. IT TAKES A SECOND ATTEMPT TO START NORMALLY

It and it had a weird knock to the engine. Did get searched five times until it was figured out. It was the lifters and camshaft that failed at 82,000. it was fixed it did stall on the highway once before that. complete fix the water pump issue. for the fuel system the EVAP code keeps showing up every few thousand miles even though it's been checked and serviced. No leaks of any kind even the very small code leak. No leaks were found in any parts of the car

Vehicle has no heat or defroster when PHEV battery is depleted or low on power. There is a recall for fire risk with instructions to not charge the battery pack but there is no heat if I don’t. This makes vehicle unsafe to use

This vehicle is a danger to drive, and there is no information on when they will fix it. I have taken the battery in to fix it before and it took over 2 weeks to repair, and more problems with more recalls. The engine is said that it can cause fire like the battery. This vehicle is not safe to have and continues to be a severe safety problem for me and my family, Two of the recalls right now they have no idea how to fix. It is not fair that I am paying for this vehicle and I can't even drive it.

Right after the 73c recall, the high voltage battery is experiencing a drain while sitting. Typically the longer it sits after it has been charged, the more depletion it experiences. It is currently at the dealership for this problem. They charged it to 100% on a Friday and was not driven. By Monday, the high voltage battery was at 50%.

My vehicle is affected by Recall 25V-741 (FCA recall 68C), which involves a risk of high-voltage battery fire due to potential internal separator damage. FCA’s NHTSA filing instructs owners to refrain from recharging the battery and to park the vehicle away from structures or other vehicles until a remedy is available. The recall remedy is not available. FCA Customer Care advised me by phone that the vehicle is “safe to drive in e-save mode unless symptoms appear,” which contradicts the recall notice because the defect can cause a fire without warning or symptoms. This vehicle automatically recharges the high-voltage battery through regenerative braking and engine charging, making it impossible to comply with the instruction to “refrain from recharging.” During another discussion, a technician also told me that the “stop sale has nothing to do with the safety of the vehicle” and advised me to “drive normally.” When I asked about the prior cases where vehicles covered by this recall had caught fire, the technician replied, “Well, they’re still around, right?” This guidance minimizes the documented fire risk and contradicts the official recall filings. The vehicle cannot be safely used or stored under normal conditions, and no interim solution or transportation has been provided. The dealer stated they were instructed by the manufacturer’s warranty team not to assist and reiterated that no remedy exists. I am reporting the unsafe and contradictory guidance from the manufacturer and the inability to safely use the vehicle while the recall remains unresolved.
