On multiple occasions the vehicle has not transferred from EV to mechanical mode and has stalled out. Shutting the car and restarting it resolved the problem each time. Hyundai has not been able to find the fault after multiple trips to the dealership and no code is recorded or reported. I bought a code reader and the last time this occurred recorded a code. P1120 $07e8Pd I brought the car back into Hyundai and reported the code to- It was not saved in the car's memory. They have had the car for over 3 weeks now and repairs have not been completed.

My a/c system has a strong mold/mildew smell. The dealership flushed the system and said a bunch of black mold came out. It has been 3 months and the issue is back. It can’t possibly be safe and healthy to be constantly breathing in mold spores. I have seen a ton of other owners complaining about the same issue. I definitely think the a/c drain design is faulty in some regard.

The windshield had a minuscule chip at the edge and it developed into a big crack. It seems like product defect and maybe dangerous.

On June 3, 2025, I experienced a terrifying and dangerous incident while driving my 2023 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid on a three-lane road at approximately 50 mph. Without any warning, the gas pedal became completely unresponsive, and the car abruptly decelerated from 50 to 20 mph. This sudden loss of acceleration was incredibly frightening, especially with vehicles close behind me that nearly collided with mine. There were no warning lights or check engine alerts. Fortunately, I was able to safely cross all lanes and pull over before having the vehicle towed to a local Hyundai dealership. I shudder to think what might have happened if this had occurred on a highway at higher speeds. This is not the first time I’ve experienced serious issues with this vehicle. In February 2024, at about 17,000 miles, I received an urgent alert recommending a system check. At that time, the car was revving while idle and would occasionally lurch at low speeds. The dealership had difficulty diagnosing and resolving the issue, and my vehicle remained in the shop for over a month before they ultimately replaced the oxygen sensor. Since then, the car has continued to lurch intermittently — for example, when backing out of a parking space or in stop-and-go traffic. In fact, approximately 10 minutes before the June 3 incident, the vehicle lurched several times while moving slowly in traffic. When the car began to lose speed during the most recent incident, I pressed the gas pedal all the way down, but it failed to respond at all. I believe the current issue may be related to the unresolved problems from last year and represents a significant and recurring safety concern. I’ve also read in Tucson owner forums that other drivers have experienced similar issues, suggesting this may be part of a broader, systemic defect. At this point, I do not feel safe driving this vehicle. I truly believe this car is a lemon. This vehicle is still at the dealership, but they have not given me any updates yet.

Consider taking a break (coffee cup icon) continues to notify even if vehicle is correctly in lane. MAJOR DISTRACTION, have to constantly check instrument cluster. Even with lane assist OFF, issue still continues.Hyundai needs to upgrade software. On 2025 Tuscon sel model no way to turn notification off. On a 6 hour trip, notification went off every 4-5 minutes on interstate driving.

I noticed my vehicle was burning through oil, initially indicated by a P011 code, when I called Hyundai they said its often a symptom related to low oil pressure. After oil changes, the code would clear, but it returned multiple times, and on two occasions, the dipstick showed no oil when checked. Despite staying current on oil changes and maintenance, I was dismissed as excessive oil burning being “common” for this engine. After recent recall updates at the dealership, a technician confirmed excessive carbon buildup and that my catalytic converter was beginning to plug. I inquired about an extended warranty offered due to the knock sensor installation but was told it only covers rod bearing failure. Hyundai Corporate echoed this, stating no coverage until catastrophic engine failure occurs, despite the ongoing damage from oil burning and converter clogging. Since my visit to the Hyundai dealership, the symptoms have rapidly escalated. Now, my vehicle is extremely loud and acceleration is poor. It takes a long time to get up to speed, and I worry about driving it as it may result in an accident.

My car stopped on the street without notice, check engine light came on and won’t moved, no power on acceleration. Was towed to dealership. Next two days, they told me that two fuel injectors were blocked/broke. I searched on internet and that has happened in many vehicles.

Without warning the car started misfiring while I was driving around town. It continued and became worse. I was in Wisconsin on vacation with the closest Hyundai dealer over an hour away. Mileage was 62416 and I had the tires replaced two weeks prior to leaving and while there I explained I would be driving from Virginia to Wisconsin and asked they let me know if the vehicle needed any service. I took it to a local shop to see if it was something easily repaired and was told it was probably a fuel injector and I should take it to the dealership as it may be under warranty. So I had to have it towed and rent a car. According to the dealership the warranty for the fuel injectors ended at 60000 miles.

I was returning home from a 224 mile trip. I was driving 65mph with the AC on low. Vehicle started slowing and losing power. I pulled over at the next possible location when I noticed the engine light was blinking then stayed solid yellow. I tried to rev the engine a few times only to be met with engine shutter and misfire. Had to have the vehicle towed the remaining 65 miles home. Took the vehicle to my mechanic where he stated cylinder 3 and 4 misfiring and told me this is a common problem with this vehicle. After doing my own investigations, I see this vehicle has an extensive history of the same problem from several other people. But yet no recall.... Why?

Was driving down busy city road when engine suddenly knocked violently and shut off rendering car inoperable as traffic had to go around my disabled vehicle. Inspection revealed low oil, despite filling 4 weeks prior after change and no visible/identifiable leaks. Investigation by mechanic resulted in being told that numerous Hyundai engines like this are having the same problems and need total engine replacements. They said that they "see this at least once a week in these Hyundai's and Kia's". There were no warning lights or anything prior to the event.

Component or System That Failed: After a routine oil change at Rick Case Hyundai of Roswell on Saturday, \[insert date], my 2022 Hyundai Tucson began shaking significantly. The dealership later informed me the issue was related to a **malfunction in the fuel injector system**. The vehicle is currently at the dealership and available for inspection upon request. How Safety Was Put at Risk: The shaking occurred immediately upon driving away from the dealership and worsened rapidly. I was concerned about losing control of the vehicle orengine stalling while driving, which could pose a danger to myself, passengers, and others on the road. I returned the vehicle immediately to avoid further risk. Reproduced or Confirmed by Dealer or Service Center: Yes, the problem was confirmed by the dealership (Rick Case Hyundai of Roswell). They diagnosed the issue as being related to fuel injector failure. I am waiting on a written report and confirmation of warranty coverage. Inspected by Manufacturer, Police, Insurance, or Others: At this point, the issue has been inspected and diagnosed by the Hyundai dealership. It has not been inspected by police, insurance, or any other outside parties. Warning Lamps, Messages, or Other Symptoms Before Failure: Warning Lamps, Messages, or Other Symptoms Before Failure: Yes, the check engine light turned on shortly after I noticed the vehicle shaking. The symptoms began **immediately after the oil change**, and the engine light appeared as the shaking worsened. There were no prior warning signs before this incident. This suggests a sudden failure, possibly related to the fuel injection system*, as diagnosed by the dealership.

I’ve been having ongoing issues with my 2016 Hyundai Tucson where the car struggles to accelerate, especially after stopping at red lights or pulling out into traffic. Sometimes, when I press the gas pedal, the car either hesitates badly or doesn’t move at all. A few times it’s completely stalled while trying to make turns or cross intersections, which has been really scary and dangerous. I did some research and found there was a known recall for this exact problem related to the Transmission Control Module software and the dual-clutch transmission. The symptoms described in the recall match mine perfectly, but when I checked my VIN, my vehicle isn’t included. I haven’t taken it to the dealer yet because I’m worried I’ll have to pay out of pocket for something that I believe is part of a known manufacturer issue.

- #11663962May 30, 2025VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
I bought a 2025 Hyundai Tucson with adaptive cruise control. The first time I used the cruise control I was on the highway with a lot of traffic. I was in pace with the traffic then the all of a sudden the cruise control shut off. The car suddenly started to slow down and I had to do some quick maneuvering not to get into an accident. I reset it again and after a half minute or so it shut down again. There was a warning message on the dash that said it couldn't see the driver's face. I was perplexed. It happened a few more times. I noticed a camera on the steering column aimed toward me. I was wearing sunglasses and thought that maybe it couldn't see my eyes. I took the sunglasses off and it stayed on. I took them off and it worked again. I reported it to the dealer. They said there was nothing wrong and that it was a safety issue. I talked to Hyundai corporate. They said to talk to the dealer who then told me to talk to Hyundai. Back and forth it went for months. They say you can shut off the feature but when you do it still happens. I was told not to wear sunglasses while driving (on the highway in Arizona!). I am now told it's a safety feature and can't be shut off. I was told not to wear polarized sunglasses (which I don't have). I've tried several pairs and types. Nothing works. Hyundai has clearly designed what they thought would be a safety feature that is a hazard. You can't drive in glaring sun without eye protection. You can't trust the cruise to remain on if you wear eye protection including prescription sun glasses. There are a lot of complaints online and in their forum about this. Please help me. - #11663547May 28, 2025FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
On May 20, 2025, at approximately 76,100 miles, I attempted to open the fuel filler door on my 2022 Hyundai Tucson and found that it would not release. The car was unlocked and parked, but the fuel door remained stuck. I eventually managed to open it only after a frenzied random sequence of repeatedly pressing the lock and unlock buttons on the key fob while simultaneously pressing on the fuel door. The mechanism finally released after many attempts, but it was inconsistent and unreliable. A second incident occurred on May 26, 2025 at 76,460 miles when I needed to refuel. While I was not stranded, the experience was frustrating and concerning — especially since the vehicle does not appear to have any kind of manual emergency fuel door release. If this issue occurred while low on fuel or far from help, it could lead to a significant inconvenience or hazard. I brought the vehicle to a Hyundai dealership on May 28, 2025 and demonstrated the problem to a Service Advisor. The Advisor that assisted me was unaware of the problem and could not find a recall or Technical Service Bulletin (TSB). Since it is past the 60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, I was told the issue would not be covered; I would have to pay out of pocket. However, I’ve read about other 2022/2023 Tucson owners experiencing similar failures, suggesting a possible design flaw in the fuel door actuator or latch assembly. I believe this should be reviewed as a potential defect. Consistent failures of a basic refueling mechanism across multiple vehicles should be taken seriously.

- #11663378May 28, 2025FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
The contact owns a 2025 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while driving and attempting to slow down, the Forward Collision Avoidance: Automatic Emergency Braking system activated, bringing the vehicle to a complete stop in the middle of the roadway. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who were unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 1,200.

- #11663342May 28, 2025FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? > While driving, the following systems fail and become inoperable sporadically: blind-spot safety system, tire pressure monitoring system, smart cruise control system, lane following assist system, speed limit warning system, shifter system malfunction, infotainment system, HVAC controls and turn signals. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? > I lose access to all safety systems and am unable to see anything on my dashboard while every single light flashes on the dash. Being unable to utilize my turn signals is dangerous because I must restart the vehicle for the issue to be resolved. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? > The problems were confirmed - but NOT reproduced by the Hyundai certified service center. They stated that they can see logs of the issues and were unable to diagnose the specific failures without the warning lights being actively present. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? > Yes. It was sold to me as a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle directly from a Hyundai dealership. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? > The warnings and failures appeared at 64,752 miles, which is less than 5,000 miles after the warranty coverage ended. I purchased the vehicle with 64,300 miles. The issues began less than 500 miles after purchase.
