My car started to slightly jerk when beginning to drive, the next day, while crossing a very busy road, it made a loud clunking noise and harsh jerking. This happened 3 times and then subsided. I took my car to be looked at and was told I needed a brand new transmission. I have 129,000 miles on my car and never had any issues. This makes no sense! It's going to cost me $2300. The sunroof has also stopped working. This is my 3rd Hyundai, I've never had to have my transmission replaced with low miles. I work remote and live in Fl, I drive my car responsibly and never beat on it. I love Hyundai so much and my next car will be a Hyundai, but this is not right and could have caused me great harm when crossing the road. It is currently in the shop at Hyundai New Port Richey, Fl

The front passenger door will not open from the outside. I press the unlock button several times, but it still won't open. I have to either open it from the inside or continuously pull on the outside handle lightly a few times to get the door open. I had the same issue with the driver side door. Obviously there is some kind of defect with the latch/actuator/locking system on these vehicles, and it needs to be addressed as it's a safety concern.

On November 8, 2023 my check engine began flashing and my car lost Speed/Full power. I knew there was a knock sensor issue because I had this replaced in May of 2023 in order to comply with extended warranty services. I immediately pulled over to see if there was an identifiable issue. I was able to make it to a local orileys and they did a diagnostic check. It gave the p1326 code which I researched and found this to be the dreaded "needs a new engine code". I wasn't able to get an appointment until November 21st with a dealership. The one in my area wasn't taking anymore due to have over 100 vehicles with the same issue. My car has been at a dealership now since my November 21 st. It's extremely difficult to get a call from these people with any information. I called Hyundai and got a case manager, but that wasn't much help either. He said the dealership was very difficult for him to get in contact with as well. After numerous attempts and no returned calls or texts, I was finally asked for my maintenance records which I sent. I have all oil change records which showed the maintenance was done and in the correct manner and time frame. On January 10th I was told that my issue was not the rod bearing issue that is covered under warranty, but instead it was a piston slap in my engine and that Hyundai had agreed to pay for half of my engine replacement. My cost would be $3,200 plus they had already charged me $250.00 for a battery replacement. I feel this is Hyundais way of skirting around the warranty wording. The piston slap needs to be covered under their extended warranty. This is all related to their bad engines. There was a specific campaign focused on the p1326 code. I have been without my vehicle for 3 months now and I'm still making payments on an auto loan and paying insurance on a vehicle I can't use. The service manager told me that my car was still drivable, but it's NOT SAFE His exact words. Was notprovided a rental and told it's notcovered

A service bulletin for windshields leaking into 2024 Santa Cruz and Tucson vehicles was issued on 11/02/23 from Hyundai, causing passenger side flooding. The length of time these models were exposed to or held water could pose these safety risks: 1 Corrosion of various mechanical and electrical parts from water entry for months that could cause safety risks at a later time. Ex. Certain Hyundai vehicles were recalled in 2006-2015 for fires originating from the ABS system due to liquid leaks and corrosion caused by failing seals and leaking water. The electric systems could short out, spark, and cause a fire, posing a risk even when the car was not in operation. 2 The possibility of the presence of invisible mold spores that grow quickly inside a closed car environment is a serious health risk for those who have a high allergy to mold, allergic asthma, COPD or other lung problems. 3 Some vehicles also experienced water entry from a firewall separation from the windshield. If the firewall is part of the unibody construction and protection for components and passengers, this is concerning. 4 Inadequate or improper repair instructions cause new owner concerns regarding the integrity of their vehicle. A. Hyundai only authorized dealers to “...insert sealant in the area that has been improperly sealed.” An auto water leak tech reported such windshield leaks require a glass company for repairs. The dealer reported around eight other vehicles have experienced the leakage at their shop. I know of no inspections by Hyundai or other service techs but is available. I did not know my car had water in the passenger side for the two months I had it. These models have been exposed to water entry from their manufacture date from this defect that somehow slipped through inspection and quality control. A Hyundai forum reported that some models experienced windshield leaks back in 2020. I am very concerned that this continues to be a cost cutting practice passed on to consumers.

The car stopped mid-drive with no warning light or anything in the middle of the road. When we took the car to the nearby mechanic they had told us that it was an oil consumption issue with our engine. He refilled the oil and the car was operational again (the oil was changed <2 months prior and <1.5k miles). The first time this happened the engine was making unusual noises several months ago and we refilled the oil at that time and it resolved. In other words, despite being diligent in routine oil changes according to usual maintenance standards the car is burning through it and more importantly not even alerting us about the issue before causing dangerous complete engine shut down mid-drive.

- #11565645January 15, 2024FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
Forward collision alert came on and brakes initiated while I was behind a car that was turning into a driveway. The car in front of me was almost all the way into the driveway. After that I drove approximately 200 feet and the collision alert warning came on, no vehicles were around me. The next day, as I was driving, a car was waiting to exit an apartment driveway, the collision alert came on. No reason for it. I took my car in to Hyundai on January 9, to have the oil changed and check the forward collision alert system. They told me they checked it, and could not find anything wrong, and recalibrated the system, and hoped that took care of it.

On [XXX], my wife and I were traveling westbound on [XXX] in the left hand lane approximately 30 miles from Lincoln, NE. I noticed blue smoke coming from my exhaust. I had to maneuver to avoid traffic in the right hand lane to exit. The engine and oil light came on about 30 yards from where we were able to stop safely. There was a large amount of oil on the ground under the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the nearest dealership in Lincoln, NE. On [XXX], the service manager called and asked who last changed my oil. He explained that the oil plug "was left loose, upon diagnosis for the oil light being on, removing the underbody shield to drain the oil out to inspect it, the plug fell out as it was laying on the shield." Prior to the vehicle becoming disabled there was not any indication of the oil plug being lose such as oil residue on the car or leakage appearing in any driveway. The oil was last changed in early September with over 5000 miles driven. The oil change was completed by Walmart prior to the issuance of the TSB #[XXX] to replace the one time use crush type gasket and to confirm no old washer is stuck in the opening. The dealership has not submitted this for a warranty repair and claims Walmart is the responsible party. The TSB #[XXX] indicates that if engine damage occurs from not following the guidelines is subject to warranty chargeback. However, at the time of the oil change, TSB #[XXX] was not yet issued. It seems odd that there was no oil leakage or oil residue on the car prior to [XXX] that the oil plug would suddenly back out unless the oil plug/pan has some sort of defect. It may be reasonable to believe that Hyundai does not want to upload the warranty on engines that are known to have issues. We have submitted a claim to our insurance company to investigate if this was caused by hitting something on the road and have submitted a claim with Walmart.
