The ABS sensor failed on my vehicle, causing it to no longer accelerate past 20 mph on the highway. This put my safety at risk, as well as my passengers and others on the road because it happened suddenly while I was on the highway. My car could no longer accelerate suddenly while all cars around me were traveling at high speeds. The ABS light came on my dash, as well as the traction control and incline warning. I can no longer drive my vehicle so it has not been inspected yet.

While Driving home from work, the 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid Vehicle's, Hybrid battery began to discharge rapidly, the Gasoline Engine did not start to charge the system, within 1/4 mile the Hybrid Battery fully discharged, and the Vehicle lost all acceleration , the Dash warning " CHECK HYBRID SYSTEM, STOP SAFELY " came on along with a loud audible warning beeping. I pulled off the road as soon as possiable. The Vehicle would not accelerate, and the gasoline engine part would not start. Several other warning lights illuminated, including the 12V battery low warning. I turned the Santa Fe off, and called Hyundai Roadside Assistance. While on the Phone with the assistant, as it was Night time, I couldn't see to check the VIN number for her I turned on the interior lights, then continued talking to the assistant. I attempted to restart the Vehicle , and it started the Gasoline Engine this time, we talked, and she suggested I see if the Hybrid Battery would now charge it's self, which it very slowly did up to 1/8 full, then I attempted to move the Vehicle to a safer location , a Gas station parking lot. I was able to drive the short 1/4 mile to the parking lot, but the vehicle had very little acceleration. Almost no power! At the parking lot I attempted to rev the engine to get more power to the Hybrid Battery, while waiting for a Tow Truck.

The company has stopped supporting their Bluelink function that is causing the screen to do a continuous search for a connection and remaining blank so the controls and cameras are not visible. The company has sent out patches for some models as the old service was on 2g and 3g which are discontinued but they are not sending an update for my vehicle. I have engaged the dealer and they say they've had numerous complaints on this matter with no fix available. This is an absolute safety hazard and needs to be addressed. Please help me; I am an [XXX] Veteran and should not have to buy a new car to be safe! Hyundai has not yet come up with a remedy. There is conflicting information about whether car is drivable considering fire can occur while in operation. I have read some information to suggest it can be driven until ABS warning light comes on however that information is not included in recall notice. Would NHTSA be able to confirm we can drive the vehicle if ABS light is not on? Have contacted Hyundai and there is still no remedy. No offer of compensation, buy back or loaner. Note while we can park our vehicle outside, it is not at all reasonable to suggest it be parked away from buildings. That suggests we could be held liable if the car catches fire and nearby structures catch fire. Cars would have to be parked in a field or vacant lot somewhere far and away from any home or business, rendering the vehicle not usable. I noticed there was a recall issued in 2022 for THE SAME DEFECT but affecting a smaller number of vehicles. So this ABS electrical issue has been in effect in actuality, since 2022. How long does a manufacturer have to find the remedy and repair a vehicle once a recall is issued? I do not feel safe driving my vehicle nor having parked in front of my home and in my neighborhood. The local dealership and Hyundai customer service has told me it’s OK to drive the car but again, I don’t find that information anywhere in the notice. If that were the case, wouldn’t the notice say so? Oh - I was going to sell my car to replace it and no one wants to buy it in light of this recall. Help? Thank you!

While driving on the highway, the engine cut out and died. It appears the engine seized. This is similar to the issues with the Santa Fe 2.4L engines, however this engine is a V6. According to a mechanic that inspected the engine, it appears that the engine had been burning engine oil, which ultimately led to the engine failure. There was no warning prior to engine failure. The engine failed while driving on the interstate, and the car coasted to a stop on the hard shoulder and would no longer start.

After 106,000 miles on a long trip home acceleration stopped working on the highway and heard a clanking noise. We had complete engine failure and were lucky enough to make it off the road safely. The engine can't be repaired or replaced and is out of warranty.

My wife and I are the owners of a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport VIN [XXX] . In September of 2023 we received a recall notice on this vehicle - NHTSA RECALL NUMBER 23V-651; HYUNDAI RECALL NUMBER 251 dated September 22, 2023. Since receiving this notice I have checked numerous times with our local dealership and online with Hyundai to see if there is any progress on this recall. As of January 15, 2024 there is no change in the status of this recall. I am disappointed that no remedy is available. Beyond the safety issues, we have been parking our car outside as directed and as a result, our vehicle, which has always been garaged, is now subject to weather risks as well as the very real risk (in our area) of pests damaging the wiring and other parts. If there is anything that NHTSA can do to spur some action on the resolution of this recall, I would greatly appreciate it INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

- #11565541January 15, 2024STEERING
My power steering failed without notice while driving. This has happened several times. The first time I just happened to need to pull off the highway because my 4 year old had to go to the bathroom and couldn't hold it. It went out as soon as I exited the highway and entered the parking lot. The steering became very hard and heavy to move and then just locked up. If I hadn't gotten of the highway when I did it would have happened while driving on the highway with my two young sons which could have resulted in a bad accident. I had no prior warning. It just happened unexpectedly. We thought maybe it was the battery so we replaced the battery with a brand new one but about a month later it happened again when I was backing out of my garage. I was afraid of driving it so I just parked it back in the garage. It is available for inspection. It has not been inspected by anyone yet. The problem just started about a month ago.

- #11565471January 14, 2024SUSPENSION, AIR BAGS, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
My horn isn't working as designed but when I push on steering wheel feels like it's cracking or breaking behind it. My front axels from factory were out of balance causing a vehicle vibration from 80+km/hr. Dealer thought it was tires not driveline. Different dealer diagnosed it as both axels in front. Issue was repaired once parts were available. Vibration still is evident but think its tires. Trying to get hyundai to replace tires now as its consequential damage. In November 2023 I was involved in a accident where the front collision warning and assist system didn't engage properly as when it did inwas in the danger zone already. And when I applied the brakes the steering became stiff as to mimic loss of power steering. I couldn't turn out of the accident and couldn't avoid it. Have video of this on my dash cam. I have a warning light rhat comes up on my dash saying check turn signal dealership verified. They have ordered the ICU junction box (fuse panel) but its been on a back order. Till February now. But no stored codes ever stay on my ecu or bcm.

I bought my 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe brand new and have been the sole owner. It has been garaged the entire time. It has 145,000 miles and I have kept it washed and maintained regularly. The last couple of times I have taken it in for repairs, the mechanic has told me that the frame is rusting badly to the point that it is a safety issue. In the event of a crash the frame could buckle.

The manufacturer has failed to remedy this defect in a reasonable time as it has been 4 months. Current solution is parking away from structures which forces my vehicle to be in the winter elements and thus damaging the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe. The contact received a notice for TSB: [XXX] and the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the campaign was completed. The contact stated that while an oil change was being performed, she was informed that the valve cover gasket was leaking. Additionally, the check engine warning light was illuminated. The fuel senders and O rings, the spark plugs, and the valve cover gasket were replaced; however, the failure recurred. The dealer replaced the oil sending unit; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the valve cover gasket, the valve cover gasket kit and the spark plugs were replaced. The contact stated that the dealer later replaced the oil pan due to oil leaking. Additionally, the contact stated while attempting to make a left turn from a complete stop, the vehicle chugged and started losing electrical power. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where the contact was informed that the alternator internally shorted, the vehicle was stuck in drive(D), and the key was stuck in the ignition switch. The battery warning light was illuminated. The dealer performed an unknown repair. The contact stated that she then received a notice for [XXX] and the vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the right bank valve cover gasket was fractured, distorted, and was leaking onto the alternator. Additionally, the dealer informed the contact that the left valve cover gasket was leaking; however, the part was not covered. The dealer only replaced the right bank valve cover gasket. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 74,936. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). The contact stated there seems to be a defect in the valve covers.
