On July 11, 2026, while driving, the vehicle suddenly experienced multiple system failures. The dashboard illuminated with numerous warning lights, including a flashing check engine light, indicating multiple system malfunctions. The vehicle was towed to the dealer due to the severity of the issue. It is currently at the dealership for inspection and diagnosis. I have not yet received a diagnosis or confirmation of the failed component(s) from the dealer. No warning lights, messages, or symptoms appeared prior to the sudden failure. The abrupt illumination of multiple warning lights while driving created a significant safety concern regarding the reliability of critical vehicle systems.

4th occurrence. Car fails to start. The instrument display reads: AUTO ENGINE IDLE STOP SYSTEM PROBLEM. Electrical system including radio, A/C etc were working. (Including the car alarm which begins honking the horn as soon as I open the door) Repeated attempts to start the car failed to do anything except to annoy anyone within earshot as the horn kept honking! Roadside assistance was not able to get the car started either so it was towed to the dealer. I've had the car into the Honda dealer for recalls but this problem has not been solved.

My 2026 Honda Passport TrailSport Elite (purchased new May 2025) has repeated, intermittent failures of the electrical system and drive-power (propulsion) function, beginning at ~16,700 miles. Severe symptoms first appeared in May 2026: multiple dashboard warning lights and error messages illuminating at once, and the instrument panel cutting in and out while driving. Sometimes a cascade of warnings precedes a failure; at other times the vehicle loses power or stalls with no warning at all. On July 4, 2026, the vehicle lost all drive power and shut down while I was driving ~75 mph on the highway, creating a substantial risk of a collision and of being struck by surrounding traffic. On four occasions (5/15/26, 5/22/26, 5/31/26, 7/9/26) it stalled immediately after being shifted into reverse. On multiple occasions it failed to start or had no electrical power, stranding me while traveling with my children. Additional failures: the driver's door intermittently will not lock or unlock, the exterior mirrors fail to fold and must be moved by hand, and the seat memory resets without input. Because the failures are intermittent, neither dealer could reproduce the condition on demand. The Waco, TX dealer (6/1/26) could not duplicate the concern and performed no repair. The Lufkin, TX dealer (6/8/26) said it could find nothing wrong, replaced the battery, and the failures continued unchanged. No specific failed component has been identified. The vehicle has been inspected only by Honda's authorized dealers. It has not been inspected by police, insurance, or an independent service center, as no crash has occurred. No crash or injury has occurred, but a vehicle that loses power at highway speed and stalls in reverse creates a substantial crash risk. The vehicle is in my possession and available for inspection upon request, along with video of several failures and dealership repair records.

SEATS
I purchased a Honda Passport Trailsport Elite on 6/29/26. I had a 3 hr drive ahead of me. After driving approximate 8-10 miles, the seats became extremely uncomfortable to the point that I had to turn around and go back to the dealership. There was excessive pressure on my tailbone/coccyx and caused so much discomfort that I could no longer sit in the seat. It was impossible to get the seat to a comfortable and safe position while driving. The passenger seat was similar, but not as severe as the driver. Both driver and passenger are unable to sit in the seats for any length of time. When returning to the dealership they agreed that the seats felt very uncomfortable and understood why a person could not safely and comfortably drive any distance. Apparently the fan box for ventilated seats, are the cause of the excessive pressure on the tailbone/coccyx. The dealer fully agrees that the car could not be driven for any length of time with that defect. It would eventually cause a person to develop back issues from the pressure on the spine area. It is now 7/3/26 and my newly purchased car is still at the dealers lot. I tested 2 prior Passport Elites at 2 other dealers and neither had this issue. Apparently this is a huge issue with the new Passport Elite vehicles.

I own a 2022 Honda Passport . The vehicle auto idle-stop system has failed to restart at a traffic light. The vehicle shuts down and eventually restarts after several manual attempts and was able to be driven again. Typically, the vehicle stops in the middle of the road at the stop light and the engine shuts down. After a while, I was able to restart and drive without issues. In the meantime I am in a stalled vehicle in the middle of high speed traffic. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The vehicle was diagnosed with having a starter failure and two burned out relays. I have never had a problem starting the vehicle when I begin a drive. The parts were repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 38,100. Failed parts were retained by the dealer.

I drive the car with the engine-idle-at-stop function disengaged. Several times when slowing down, but still moving, the car shifts into park; the AC and radio remain on. I have to press engine start to start the engine. Several other times when already stopped, such as at a red light or in traffic, waiting to make a turn, the engine shuts off and the car shifts into park. I have to press the engine start button to turn the car back on. I am getting honked and hollered at in traffic, and could easily be vulnerable to being rear-ended when my moving car suddently turns off ad stops running (winds up in Park). A non-dealer ran diagnostics and found No History of any error codes, and the system worked when they drove it. The day before the non-dealer had the car, it shut off 2 times in about 2 miles. He said the New battery is fine, the alternator is fine, and they do not know what to troubleshoot. No lights light up prior to the incidents, but they light up momentarily during it: it is the "Charging System Indicator" and the "Malfunction Indicator Lamp" that light up. The new battery is one week old and installed as per the owner's manual and was checked by a 3rd party today. These events have occurred with both the original and new batteries. All of this has been over the past few months, with most incidents - an escalation - the past couple of weeks.

While waiting at a stoplight, the car was in Auto Idle Stop System mode. When the light turned green, I stepped on gas pedal and the vehicle shut off. The brake was hard and I could not turn off the vehicle for a minute. I opened the drivers side and passenger front door and closed, then was able to turn off vehicle. After a few seconds, I was able to start vehicle with push start button. The vehicle has sounded sluggish when starting up lately but battery tested good.

The contact owns a 2026 Honda Passport. The contact stated that while turning the steering wheel, there was a clicking sound like a loosened spring in the steering wheel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to diagnosed and the contact was informed that the steering wheel needed to be replaced. The steering wheel was replaced but the failure persisted. Additionally, the contact became aware that the brake pedal was making a clicking sound while depressed. The vehicle was taken to another dealer, Weatherford Honda (851 Interstate 20 Frontage Rd Exit 406, Weatherford, TX 76087) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the clock spring had failed and needed to be replaced. The clock spring and brake light switch were replaced, but the failures persisted. The vehicle was taken to a third dealer, Red Rock Honda (748 N 1st St, Grand Junction, CO 81501); and it was diagnosed and determined that the clock spring and brake light switch needed to be replaced another time. The clock spring and the brake light switch were scheduled to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the issues, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 1,200.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
Collision Mitigation Braking System ( CMBS) on occasion orange dash brake light illuminates doesn't stop vehicle , has occurred since purchase on 02/25/2025 at least 150 times , current mileage to 06/16/2026 6877 miles, ref Honda Case # 1641332 , now every time on short drives this occurs 1-2 times, contacted Holman Honda Centennial Co several times , again last week " told there is no fix, you can turn off CMBS each tine vehicle is started " this is a safety feature , there are numerous complaints on line also with NTSB , am concerned that at some point the brakes could be slammed on without warning and cause another vehicle to rear end me

Idle stop has not engaged motor at intersection. This has happened three times in the last 2 months. Honda Passport has 29024 miles on it. All three incidents required shutting down the Passport and restarting the SUV. Each time there was a backup of cars behind me and I put on warning flashers.

POWER TRAIN
With only 7688 miles, have been having transmission issues like hard shifting, not shifting when needing to speedup especially when trying to pass or on highway. In city hard shifting occurs constantly now. I had tried contacting Honda and the dealership to get the gaps issue resolved for past 2 years and nothing. This has been a poor experience for a Honda, which we have been very loyal for over 40 years. This transmission issue will only get worse and needing a resolution or fix as I have tried both dealership and Honda for help without being told my case has been transferred over and over.

Our 2026 Honda Passport TSE suddenly stalled twice in active traffic intersections in Albuquerque, NM under acceleration and during a left turn, causing a sudden loss of motive power and a severe safety hazard and a potentially life threatening situation. Telemetry logs from an aftermarket GPS device installed in my vehicle captured a catastrophic voltage drop down to 10.886V during the incident, which electrically blinded the ECU and prevented the vehicle from storing a diagnostic trouble code. The vehicle was taken to Garcia Honda in Albuquerque, NM who documented the symptoms ('loss of power on accel,' 'hesitates and jerks') but released the vehicle unfixed because no digital codes were present.
