On XXX on XXX in [XXX] my wife and I were driving on a clear day at about 55 MPH and we heard an explosion like a gunshot. We quickly realized that our sunroof had exploded above our heads. I looked in the rear view mirror and saw a car behind me swerve to avoid the glass shards that had flown out of our car. We pulled off the highway and tried as best as we could to clean up the glass and we had to drive slowly home. We had some scratches but that is all. The car is still under warranty and Honda refused to replace the sunroof. Treated poorly by the dealer. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

On an incline, the auto stop engages, and hill hold deactivates because engine is off. The vehicle rolls backwards between time of moving from brake to gas and before engine engages. Delay and lag time. This is a major hazard, the dealer will not address

RE: XXX- Complaint # XXX for NHTSA Investigation EA25004 - Issues related to Auto Idle Stop - Battery & Starter failures. XXX - Complaint # XXXfor Honda Corporate asking to be part of extended warranty for TSB 23-008 and TSB 23-009 XXX - Ticket #XXX-Honda Cars of McKinney - reported continued issues with sluggish starts from HOT vehicle and failure of Auto Idle Stop/Restart * Asked for complete check of electrical system including battery, relays, starter and review of internal recalls, TSBs, and referenced NHTSA investigation EA25004. * Battery was replaced XXX at a cost of $402.08 and checked okay * Starter failed check with excessive resistance causing sluggish starts, and failure of Auto Idle Stop function to restart vehicle in traffic. Both the starter and relay assembly were replaced at a cost of $786.28. * Requested Honda Goodwill Assistance review as this is a known problem under Honda TSB 23-008 and 23-009 to cover these expenses outside the standard warranty. Hendricks Auto Group(McKinney) and Honda Corporate refused to apply the Goodwill Assistance so I had to pay out-of-pocket for a known issue for this model year vehicle. They claimed the original owner failed to bring the vehicle in for this work, and I as the second owner was basically a 'buyer beware' even though there was nothing reported on the CARFAX report. * I feel this is a safety issue Honda clearly knew about, and without the work done by the first owner, it exposed my family to a dangerous issue in that the car would fail to restart safely in traffic leaving us vulnerable to an accident and in [XXX] - road rage. Please add this additional information to my original complaint # XXX, dated XXX. On four separate occasions, while operating my 2025 Honda Passport, the vehicle has experienced an abrupt and dangerous electronic transmission failure. While coming to a complete stop at active traffic lights, the vehicle's Auto Engine Idle Stop feature engages and shuts down the engine normally. However, upon releasing the brake pedal to accelerate, the vehicle experiences a severe electrical/electronic fault during the automated engine restart phase. Instead of restarting and shifting into Drive, the electronic gear shifter loses communication and automatically forces the transmission into Neutral. The vehicle is instantly left stranded and immobilized in the middle of live intersections, leaving me completely vulnerable to rear-end collisions. To resolve the issue and safely move the vehicle, I am forced to completely turn the ignition off and cycle the vehicle power back on to manually reset the transmission control module. This is a severe, recurring safety hazard that puts myself and other motorists at immediate risk of injury.

The driver-side rear roof rail housing/bracket on my 2026 Honda Passport is loose. The affected section is exposed to wind while the vehicle is moving. The roof rail component has already been replaced once, but the replacement component is noticeably looser and appears to fit worse than the original component that was previously installed. The issue has therefore persisted despite a replacement, and the condition of the replacement is worse than that of the original part. I am concerned that the loose roof rail housing or bracket may become progressively dislodged under repeated wind exposure and vehicle vibration. If the component detaches while driving, it could create a road hazard or pose a risk to other motorists. I am requesting that NHTSA document this complaint and evaluate whether this condition reflects a recurring component defect, inadequate retention, or an installation or fitment problem affecting other vehicles of the same model year. The component has already been replaced once, and the replacement has not resolved the concern. I believe the recurring nature of this issue warrants further evaluation rather than treating it solely as an isolated cosmetic problem.

My 2019 Honda Passport (VIN [XXX]) has a failure of the front windshield-mounted multipurpose camera that runs the Honda Sensing driver-assistance system. Diagnostic codes U3000 (multipurpose camera internal failure) and U0416 (vehicle stability/VSA data fault) are present, with multiple driver-assistance warning lights illuminated. As a result, safety features including collision-mitigation braking, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and road-departure mitigation are disabled. This is the same front-camera / Honda Sensing defect that is the subject of 2026 class-action litigation involving other Honda models that use the same camera. Honda has not issued a recall for the front sensor camera, and owners report paying roughly $2,000–$3,000 for replacement, programming, and calibration. No crash has occurred, but losing these safety systems is a safety concern INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

My 2020 Honda Passport (approximately 52,000 miles) has experienced recurring Auto Idle Stop/engine restart failures in May 2023, November 2024, and October 2026, despite multiple repairs by an authorized Honda dealership. The latest incident occurred in October 2026, immediately after a routine state inspection. While stopped with my foot on the brake, the dashboard unexpectedly displayed "N" (Neutral) and instructed me to remove my foot from the accelerator, although I was not accelerating. The electronic gear selector would not respond, requiring me to turn off the vehicle. Shortly afterward, while stopped at a traffic light, the brake pedal became extremely stiff, and the engine would not restart. The dashboard, radio, and other accessories remained operational. The battery warning light appeared only during restart attempts. I eventually restarted the vehicle and returned home. These failures pose a serious safety risk, potentially leaving the vehicle immobilized in active traffic and compromising normal brake assistance. In May 2023, Honda performed a PGM-FI software update under Service Bulletin 23-008. When the problem returned in November 2024, Honda replaced the starter assembly and starter relays and performed an engine valve adjustment under Service Bulletin 23-009. Despite these repairs, similar symptoms returned in October 2026. Another driver had also noticed hesitation and unusual cranking sounds during automatic restarts approximately one month earlier. I contacted American Honda, reported the recurring failure, and requested a manufacturer-level technical inspection. Although my case was escalated, I have received no substantive follow-up despite multiple calls and written inquiries. The vehicle has remained parked without a confirmed manufacturer inspection or repair plan. The vehicle remains available for inspection. I am concerned that Honda's prescribed repairs have not resolved this recurring safety-related malfunction.

My mother bought this new 2025 Honda passport Ex+L with 5 miles brand new in dec 2024. Since owning it I have put only 10650 miles on it. Less than 5k a year and mostly drove highway miles in that first year. Was told during purchase that Honda link would be available so that I can get help, see maintainer reminders, and even use to towing, and repair services. But they had stopped Honda link earlier this year. This was a major factor for my elderly mother so that she had these options for her if needed. Also, I have been trying to get Honda to fix both top rear seals, there are 2in+ gaps in the top rear, where dirt, Debree, and water are accumulating which I am worried that it will cause rust, due to poor paint quality. I took it to the dealership where the service manager even said it looked defective but would need to get same model to compare. It's now been over a year with no resolution. This is my mother's first new vehicle ever and would be her last vehicle. Also, I have noticed that the front collision waring just appear out of nowhere at times. This has been another ongoing issue. Then just recently been feeling transmission lurching and not engaging. She and I do no use this offroad, towing, or even carry heavy loads. Honda used to make great vehicles and customer service was great and quick to respond and resolve issues. Not no more. I feel that these and other issue with same model that are now having major engine problems will cause her to crash or get involved in an accident. I can only drive her when i have time to and just simply very aggravated with Honda. Ive owned over 9 Honda and Acura vehicles over the decades and never had any issues such as this. The dealership even sold her a 3rd party extended warranty as she was led to believe it was with Honda Care mostly to cover new tech. I will continue to contact Honda and Don Jacobs Honda about these issues, but from the level of non, feel like they had sold her a defective SUV. Thanks

My 2019 Honda Passport (VIN [XXX]) has an intermittent, dangerous failure of the Auto Idle Stop (auto start/stop) system: when the engine shuts off at a complete stop and I release the brake, it fails to restart on its own, leaving the vehicle dead and immobile in live traffic. There is no warning light before it happens. This has stranded me at intersections and in traffic, creating a serious risk of being struck from behind. The condition matches NHTSA's open Engineering Analysis EA25004 and the defect at issue in the In re Honda Idle Stop Litigation settlement, both concerning 2019 Passport and related vehicles failing to restart after Auto Idle Stop engages. The vehicle has not received the A53 starter replacement. I am bringing it to an authorized Honda dealer, which is requiring a paid diagnostic to "verify" the defect before performing the covered software update and warranty-extension repair. No crash or injury has occurred yet, but the failure is ongoing and I consider it an active safety hazard. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

When at a stop or red light, the Honda 2025 passport trail sport stops and shifts into Neutral, the Auto Idle Stop system turns off, car would not start until I put it into park and turn it off, open and close door, turn on again. It started July 18, 2026 and it keeps happening, this morning too 10/13/26.

The contact owns a 2025 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that on multiple occasions, upon acceleration from a complete stop, the vehicle shifted into neutral and would not shift into drive. When the failure occurred, the contact was forced to restart the vehicle before continuing to drive. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where a diagnostic evaluation was performed; however, the vehicle was not repaired as the contact was advised that the failure was not duplicable. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 23,000.

Like many others have reported on the internet, I am now seeing the TT04 message on the dashboard inidicating that a software update was interrupted and I must see the dealer. This is concerning in that this bug has been reported for years and Honda has failed to find a solution. What exactly is not working in the car with a failed update? What must a dealer do to fix the update and is the car safe until then? No answers from Honda in two years.

Purchased vehicle November 27th, 2025 took car to the carwash after owning a few months and noticed after the car wash the paint was chipping. Took to dealership was told "oh those are door dings or something to that effect", filed with Honda was told basically the same thing. So, started doing research and came across the NHTSA website to file a complaint as well as the NCDS Informal Dispute Settlement Program. I have never had a new car or even a used car have the paint chip off when using a car wash. In doing my research it appears this particular make and model with the orange paint is a known issue. I didn't pay the price for this car to be unable to keep it clean. I am also filing a complaint with the state attorney generals office, this car is still under warranty.

I bought the 2026 Honda Passport Trailsport new with 300 dealer miles on it. From the very beginning there was a loud thump in the rear when going over speed bumps. I took it to the dealer I bought it from and they said they could not repeat the sound. I took it to another Honda dealer and test drove with the manager over speed bumps where the sound was clearly heard. The manager just said to drive more slowly over speed bumps because the Passport was only off-road capable not off road designed. I took it back to the original dealer I bought it from and drove over speed bumps with a technician who heard the thump. He then retorqued the rear subframe per the safety recall 4170A9. I left the dealer and retested driving over speed bumps. The thumping sound was still pronounced. Now I see this is a known NHTSA safety recall issue increasing the risk of crash or injury. I called the dealer and told them I was bringing it back until it was fixed.

I have a 2020 Honda passport elite with a 3.5L V6 J35Y6 with 108k miles on it which is similar to the engines that have been recalled in other models like the pilot, ridgeline, and odyssey, and I have researched multiple vehicles with a similar problem of spun rod bearings which has left metal debris in my engine. I have found hundreds of passports that have been reported with the same issue. My vehicle is currently sitting at the dealership and they said it needs a new engine due to this issue. My vehicle is not drivable until the engine is replaced. The dealership estimated a cost of over $5k.
