SummarySome 2018-2021 vehicles supported by FDRS may not list a software update for a module under the SW Updates tab although an SSM or TSB is published for a software update. This may be due to the module already being at the latest software level. A later software level may have been programmed at the assembly plant, during a previous dealer visit or by an over the air (OTA) update for vehicles that have automatic updates enabled in the SYNC system settings. To review a vehicle's OTA update history, visit the Connected Vehicle > OTA Dashboard tab in OASIS. Information about the OTA Dashboard can be found on FMCDealer.com when performing a search on OTA History Job Aid.

SummarySome 2018 Focus, 2019 Fiesta, 2019-2020 Transit and 2019-2020 Transit Connect vehicles may exhibit a concern where the radio randomly seeks through FM stations when a Bluetooth device is connected and streaming audio. Engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition. Inform customers that Ford is developing a software fix that is expected in May 2021. In the interim, let the customer know that the radio will still function without Bluetooth and schedule a follow-up appointment with the customer for late February. Once the update becomes available, contact the customer and confirm the service appointment is going forward. Monitor OASIS for additional information and schedule service appointments for customers once the repair becomes available.

SummarySome 2020-2021 Transit vehicles equipped with a gas engine may exhibit a harsh engagement into drive with or without an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0772 and/or P2704 in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to sticking valves in the main control valve body. Most vehicles will improve and no longer exhibit the condition after the first 8,000 km (5,000 mi) of driving. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to perform the transmission accelerated main control break-in routine and/or overhaul the main control valve body.

First, an FDRS session must be created on the vehicle prior to removing the faulted module. Once the session is started, run the Programmable Module Installation and replace the module only when instructed by FDRS. Installing a new module prior to starting a scan tool session may result in incomplete module configuration with DTCs U2100, U2101 and/or U2200. Once a session has been started, continue to follow normal WSM procedures to repair the vehicle.

SummarySome 2015-2019 Transit vehicles built on or before 31-Dec-2018 and some 2017-2018 E-Series vehicles equipped with a 6.8L engine built on or before 16-Jul-2018 using the Motorcraft Orange coolant may exhibit an engine or transmission overheat concern. This condition may be due to deposits from the engine coolant becoming trapped in the radiator preventing coolant flow. To correct the condition, flush the cooling system, replace the radiator and fill with Motocraft Yellow coolant.

SummarySome 2015-2021 Transit vehicles may experience difficulty opening and/or closing the manual sliding door that will require sliding door adjustment. When performing the sliding door adjustment procedure in Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-03, use the following updated torque specs. Step 12 = 70 Nm (52 ft-lb). Step 27 = 40 Nm (30 ft-lb). In step 18, apply Motorcraft Threadlock 262 (TA-26) to the nut before torqueing. The WSM is in the process of being updated to include these revisions.

SummarySome 2015-2021 Transit vehicles equipped with rear wheel drive (RWD), single rear wheel (SRW), and a U-joint at the transmission flange and rear driveshaft may experience a boom/hum/moan noise or vibration from the rear while driving. This noise or vibration is most prevalent at highway speeds (112-121 km/h 7075 mph for 4.10 axle ratio, 121-128 km/h 75-80 mph for 3.73 axle ratio, and 136-145 km/h 85-90 mph for 3.31 axle ratio) and may also be present to a lesser degree at roughly half of those speeds. This may be due to a 2nd order driveline frequency transmitted through the rear drive shaft, rear axle and into the body through the leaf springs. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to install a driveshaft torsional damper.

If mfal = WAFAC or WAFAB do not replace the TCU, engineering is currently investigating this condition. Inform customers Ford is developing a software fix that is expected in early March. In the interim, let the customer know they can continue to drive the vehicle and schedule a follow-up appointment with the customer for early March. Monitor OASIS for updates.

SummarySome 2017-2021 F-Super Duty and 2016-2021 F650-750 with 6.7L diesel engines, 2015-2019 Transit with 3.2L diesel engines and 2018-2021 F-150 with 3.0L diesel engines may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P206C in the powertrain control module (PCM). Review of repair data supports that P206C is often the result of incorrect diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) concentration. Per Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) Pinpoint Test (PPT) RJ, a DEF concentration reading below 28% will set P206C and cause vehicle derate. If low concentration is suspected, drain fluid and replace with known good DEF before replacing any parts. Low concentration of DEF is not a warrantable condition.
