SummarySome 2022 F-Super Duty vehicles that are not equipped with a telematics control unit (TCU) module and built on or before 03-Mar-2022 may exhibit a no crank/no start condition due to a discharged battery. If no parasitic draw is found during normal diagnostics, run the GWM - Gateway Module A (GWM) Configuration application using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool to correct the condition. For claiming, use causal part 14F642 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

SummarySome 2020-2022 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with cylinder injection pulse offset diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) P2B11, P2B13, P2B15, P2B17, P2B19, P2B1B, P2B1D, and/or P2B1F stored in the powertrain control module (PCM) after various fuel system repairs. This may be due to incorrect learned values in the PCM. To correct the condition, allow the engine to idle for at least 6 minutes with the engine at normal operating temperature. Clear DTCs and retest. PCM replacement is not necessary for this condition.

SummarySome 2022 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7L diesel engine and a 10R140 automatic transmission may exhibit harsh 3-2 and/or 2-1 downshifts when coming to a stop in tow/haul mode or when using engine brake mode. Because this is related to a software issue, replacement of the transmission or other components will not resolve this condition and engineering is currently working on a software update which is expected to be available by the end of June 2022. In the interim Perform TSB 22-2015, steps 10-15 only, and evaluate if the concern is resolved. If the concern is still present, let the customer know they can continue to drive the vehicle and schedule a follow-up appointment for June 2022. Monitor OASIS for updates and confirm that the service appointment is going forward once the repair becomes available.

Summary2011-2022 F-Super Duty and 2016-2023 F-650/F-750 vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine may exhibit an elevated idle condition. During prolonged idle time, vehicles may experience this elevated idle to reduce unburned hydrocarbons from the SCR. The powertrain control module estimates hydrocarbon levels in the SCR and may increase idle speed to remove them. Idle speed will be increased to 1000 RPM for ambient temperatures near 26°C (80°F) and may increase to 1200 RPM at -40 °C (-40°F). Vehicles may exhibit exhaust smoke and diesel exhaust fluid smell during elevated idle condition. Exhaust smoke and smell condition will not affect reliability or durability of the engine. Power take-off (PTO) use and idle set point control will disable elevated speed. It is required that the operator monitor the vehicle and adhere to any Exhaust Filter warning messages.

SummarySome 2020-2022 F-Super Duty pickup vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine and built on or before 23-Sep-2021 may exhibit a thump/whine/knock noise from the fuel tank at idle or during key on, engine off (KOEO) after performing TSB 21-2057. The noise may be more pronounced at fuel levels at or below 1/4 tank. This may be due to the fuel pump. To correct the condition, replace the fuel pump and sender assembly with service part HC3Z-9H307-AR for vehicles with 160/164 inch wheelbase and a midship fuel tank, HC3Z-9H307-AQ for vehicles with 142/148 inch wheelbase and a midship fuel tank, and HC3Z-9H307-AS for vehicles with an aft of axle fuel tank. For claiming, use causal part 9H307 and applicable labor operations in Section 08 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

SummarySome 2020-2022 F-Super Duty vehicles may exhibit a condition where the engine will not turn off and/or have various electrical symptoms including a dead battery, horn stays on and no crank/no start. The vehicle may also have an illuminated anti-lock braking system (ABS) indicator with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) C0020 and U3003 in the ABS module. The vehicle may not shift out of park (P) and/or have continuously illuminated brake lamps with DTCs P0504 and/or C0040. This may be a result of water/moisture intrusion into the battery junction box (BJB). The BJB is located under the hood of the vehicle. This water/moisture intrusion may be related to the BJB cover not installed completely or broken cover tabs/locking fingers allowing water/moisture into the BJB. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to inspect for water/moisture intrusion into the BJB and replace the BJB if water/moisture intrusion is found.

Summary2021-2022 various Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit an erroneous diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U1A01:93 stored in the telematics control unit (TCU). This may be due to various software parameters within the TCU. If this DTC is identified during normal diagnostics, but the vehicle does not exhibit any customer concerns around the TCU operation, clear this DTC and no further repairs are recommended. If the DTC returns after being cleared or if the vehicle exhibits connectivity concerns with the TCU, continue with normal Workshop Manual (WSM) diagnostics. If set erroneously, this DTC does not cause any observable concerns or warning messages and does not affect vehicle performance or durability. Ford is developing a software update which will be delivered to the vehicle via an over-the-air (OTA) TCU update in July 2022 to prevent this DTC from setting erroneously.
