- #11524667May 31, 2023ENGINE, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL:CRUISE CONTROL
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the computer needed to be programmed. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. While driving approximately 50 MPH with the cruise control activated, the vehicle unintendedly accelerated to approximately 70 MPH. The brakes failed to respond while depressing the brake pedal. The failure was self-corrected. The vehicle was taken back to the local dealer who documented the failure but was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was contacted, and the contact was referred to another dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 10,600.

I ordered an f150 in march of 2022 The build date was April of 2022 It was apparently stored in a harsh environment for 10.5 months It was January 31 of 2023 before I received the truck The windshield was pitted and visibility was diminished, especially with early or late sun There were also apparently chemicals on the inside of windshield that were difficult to remove even after 10+ attempts at cleaning. Complaint was filed through the MN attorney general office to ford motor and nothing was done. I brought back to dealer on 4/24/23 Windshield was finally changed on 5/19/23 Visibility was definitely hindered and I feel all vehicles made and stored by ford in this manner should be recalled and inspected.

I recently took a trip home to Pennsylvania (I live in Alabama) to visit family. A few days into my trip I noticed a rattle sound coming from my rear passenger side wheel. It was only noticeable at low speeds but it sounded like the wheel hub may have been lose or perhaps a stone had made it inside the center hub. I take immaculate care of my vehicle and it is still under the manufacturer new vehicle warranty. Upon further inspection, I removed the wheel hub and noticed that the axle spline bolt had sheered off with the washer and was actually rolling around like a wash machine inside the hub. At high speeds the centrifugal force was enough to keep the bolt against the outer wall of the wheel hub. When slowing down the force was no longer great enough and the bolt would fall down and then tumble around as the speed went down. I was supposed to leave for home at 3am, but now due to this issue, the vehicle is not safe to drive. Ford has not offered a solution other than to let the local dealer look at it (700 miles from home). They have verbally told me they will reimburse a rental car and get my truck shipped home to me after the repair, but none of this has been made in writing. This is a known issue for Ford. There are hundreds of documented cases online and my local selling dealer in Alabama knew of the issue when I called to report it. They have had 4 cases recently of the same issue. Ford MUST issue a recall IMMEDIATELY! This is a major safety issue and could cause the axle to "fall out" of the wheel hub at speed and could cause a major accident and almost certain death if this were to occur at high speeds.

Drivers side and passenger side rear axle end bolt. I called my local FORD dealer and was told that the truck in not safe to drive and to call Roadside Assistance and have my vehicle transported to the nearest FORD dealer for repair. This is somewhat of a common problem as reported on the F150 vehicle user groups and this is the second time that it has happened on this vehicle. My local FORD dealer replaced the passenger side axle when this happened the first time. The only warning of this failure is a rattle during vehicle low speed operation due to centripetal force not allowing the bolt and washer to rattle in the cavity covered by the Logo axle cover. I was only able to notice this rattle due to it being on the drivers side during low speeds. When this occurred on the passenger side I did not notice it and I'm not sure how long the issue existed until my trucks drivetrain disengaged while driving in a parking lot. The bolt failure over time can allow the rear axle to slip outboard and disengage the axle splines. FORD needs to address this issue and determine root cause and resolve this issue.

The passenger side rear axle bolt sheared off and could be heard rattling inside the wheel/hub. Dealership showed the bolt to us and said it's common with the newer body style F-150's. My wife was heading out this weekend to drive back home to Illinois from here in Montana. Now she's stuck here until next week at the earliest.

On 05-07-2023. I started my vehicle and suddenly through the radio speakers there was an extremely loud and painful Pop and static noise through my radio speakers at full volume. I was not able to turn it down or off by turning the radio controls, It was so loud it scared me and my family. Forced us to get off the highway and I turned the truck on and off several times which did nothing, the unbearable noise continued with the vehicle off. I rolled down all the windows and drove 5 miles home whete it continued to make the noisefor about a half hour before finally shutting off. After a while i restarted the truck and the noise has not come back. This is the second time this has happened, but this was the most sever. My pregnant daughter was 2 weeks from delivery and if a newborn would have been in the car it could have easily permantely damanged an infants hearing. My family's ears rang for a day with headaches. My truck has the B & O unleashed sound system. I have read where others have experienced this same issue and Ford has not acknowledged a problem. I called my local Ford dealer and they were not aware of the issue and gave me no guidance. I do not know if this a radio or electrical issue - but something was very very wrong. I believe that my safety and the safety of any children especially young children would be at sever risk. Very paintful experience.
