The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the vehicle was shuddering and jerking while driving. The check engine warning light was flashing. The contact stated there was another unknown warning light flashing. The contact stated that the soy-based wiring was causing costly repairs. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the wiring in the undercarriage was chewed on. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred a month later. The contact stated that while driving 35–40 MPH, an unknown warning light started to flash. The vehicle was taken back to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the soy-based wiring had been chewed on by squirrels and chipmunks. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 4,000.

My rear passenger window shattered. My niece opened the door and the glass shattered. The window pane was held together by after market tint. It then fell under the vehicle. The vehicle is available for inspection until Friday, July 27, when it is scheduled for repair. The safety of the passengers was putt in jeopardy sure to the nature of the incident.

The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at various speeds, the passenger’s side headlight was not working as intended. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the passenger’s side headlamp needed to be replaced due a failure of the LED screen. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred approximately one year later. The vehicle was taken to the same dealer where it was diagnosed that the passenger’s side and driver’s side headlamps needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 48,000.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
When driving my truck using adaptive speed control. Vehicle reacts as it should to speed limit signs until it sees any sign with the number 80 on it, e.g.- state hwy. 80. As soon as it reads the number 80 it immediately accelerates to 80 mph. This happens no matter what speed zone you are in. I called Ford motor company and they referred me to my local dealership. The dealership said they were aware of the problem because one of their managers had the same issue with his vehicle. They told me that the Ford tech. told him to shut it off if that happens. I don't believe this is a viable fix because you never know when it is going to happen. This will happen anytime it sees the number 80 whether you are in a 25 mph zone, a 55 mph or any speed zone. This is a very dangerous situation for both occupants and pedestrians. I just got off an hour long phone call with Ford vehicle technology assist and they insist I find my own solution by going to local dealerships. I know for sure this condition affects at least two but more than likely thousands of vehicles. Please look in to this before somebody gets killed. I can tell Ford is not going to.

The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to another dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted in second gear. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 9,271.

Not 5 minutes ago I reported an issue to NHTSA regarding a 2024 Ford F-150 V6 Raptor. Just as I was submitting the form, I got an alert that remote features are disabled to preserve battery. The error texted to my phone states: “Don't worry though, nothing is wrong. This happens automatically when you haven't started your vehicle for a period of time.” I am not understanding why an error related to not driving recently would appear, I just drove about 70 miles round trip and have been home less than 30 minutes.

SERVICE BRAKES
Twice when opening the drivers door, my 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor V6 has chimed and then displayed “Brake System Failure”. Starting the truck, shutting off the motor and locking/unlocking the drivers door appears to clear the message. The local Ford dealership updated the software and believed it corrected the issue. Today, I drove approximately 30 miles, shut off the engine, locked the door and had lunch. When entering the truck again, I got an alert chime and the dashboard had an error reading “Parking Brake Failure”.

I bought my 2023 F150 August 31 2023 and a few days later with just 600 miles on it the air conditioner quit working. We were traveling and turned it off for a couple hours and when turned back on it worked. Called the salesman and he said there have other incidences. Today 7/01/24 it happened again, and opening the hood I saw that the air conditioning lines were frozen. If this issue with fan not blowing when needing the defroster there could be safety issues driving in freezing precipitation. Dealer could not replicate so said there was no problem. There were no warning lights with regard to this problem.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
After starting the vehicle at a motel in the morning, and backing out of the parking spot, I put the vehicle in drive and gave it a little bit of gas (wheel cranked to the left to finish turning out of the spot), and the vehicle rapidly accelerated across the parking lot. I hit the brakes and the vehicle stopped accelerating. I looked down to see the cruise control set to 15 Mph and crossed out (disengaged due to brake engagement). I never set the cruise control at that speed. To the best of my knowledge I never bumped any cruise control buttons that morning. To the best of my knowledge a software glitch caused cruise control to set and engage, from a stop, to an unsafe speed considering the circumstances.

While driving the parking break activated. I was in the middle of the road with my newborn. I believe my truck should have been recalled since this is something that other F150 had. I took it to the Ford dealership and they said there was no active recall on this vehicle. So I had them check it since it’s such a high safety concern. And yes there was a default with the parking break system.

The contact was informed that the CDF drum assembly needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred. The contact stated while driving 80 MPH, the vehicle decelerated independently. The contact stated that the transmission shifted from 10th gear to 5th gear unexpectedly. In addition, the contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. Cover for transmission/exhaust/engine on underside of vehicle tears at mount pint and hangs down and could completly tear away causing potential vehicle damge or damage to other vehicles on road. Problem is noted on internet forums as Ford's saggy diaper problem. Cover is made of a non durable foam-fabric material and is mounted by 4 screws and tears away by mount points and hangs down. This is 2nd time happening on truck, first time was replaced under warranty. Picutre is taken after I pushed it back into place but is still torn by mounting bolt and hangs down when driving. I ordered a replacement from Amazon for $99.99 and will attempt to repair myself.

I contacted a local Ford dealership: Hempstead Ford, 301 N Franklin St, Hempstead, NY 11550, (516) 363-1579 to perform multiple safety recalls issued by NHTSA. The service department refused to schedule me for service because I did not buy the vehicle from their dealership. I reported this to Ford Customer Relations and was told that they cannot force the dealership to service my vehicle. I believe this is illegal.
