My 2023 F150 has been having issues with the key fob connecting to the vehicle and responding to commands (unlock/lock, remote start etc). On the date of this incident the truck was not responding to the remote start key fob function. While standing outside the vehicle from a distance of about 10 feet I attempted the remote start function with no success approximately five times. On the last attempt I heard the audible sound of the parking brake releasing (moving from the “brake on” mode to the “brake off” mode). Once inside the vehicle I confirmed that the parking brake had been released. I was ultimately able to get the truck started and driving in a normal condition. The parking brake has not malfunctioned since. The key fob / truck connection continues to malfunction to various degrees. Sometimes no response, sometimes no remote start, sometimes the truck will be running and display a dashboard message indicating the key fob is not present leaving the truck running but “locked” in park. During this parking brake incident the vehicle was parked and locked with the parking brake set as normal (on or about May 10 , 2025). It was on level ground in a parking lot. No other vehicles were parked near mine. It was morning time, the truck was “cold” after being parked all night. No other unusual condition were noted. Weather conditions were dry and mild (50 degree temperatures). The remote connection issues have been going on about 6-8 months. I have replaced the battery in the remote 2x with no improvement. The vehicle has been inspected by the selling dealer once for the fob with no results (April 17, 2025). I have an appointment for the latest issues on June 2 2025. It is my belief that the random release of the parking brake system poses a risk for myself and other members of the public that may be injured by a sudden “roll away” of this vehicle by parking brake failure. I am in possession of the vehicle and it’s available for inspection. .

Per Safety Recall 23S65-S1 - NHTS 23V896 Ford notified the government in 2023 regarding the rear axle hub bolts breaking on F-150's equipped with the max tow package. My 2023 Ford F-150 is configured with the max tow package and has the same exact axle and hub bolt known to failure included in the recall I mentioned. The new replacement axle has a nut on the end to hold everything together so it's very easy to tell the difference. This failure is part(s) specific and my truck currently has the same axle and axle bolt included in this recall that is known to have a failure. I have attached a picture. The problem, my VIN is not part of the recall selection and this is a present safety concern for me and others. I have not had a failure yet but I have not towed with my truck because of this safety concern of a potential failure. Up until recently, Ford's fix for broken axle hub bolts were to replace with the same parts. Ford finally had a replacement axle (new style with a axle hub nut instead of a bolt) manufactured to eliminate this issue. It is a completely different design and uses a nut on the end to hold everything together. This recall needs to expand to include all F-150's that have the same axle & axle hub bolt.

My rear reverse lights and light bar are full of water, there was a recall on this model vehicle to address this issue but my vehicle wasn't part of that recall even though the light bar is the same part number. The reverse lights are full of water and cause the reverse lights to flicker or not turn on at all.

Rear driver-side blinker light failed due to microscopic breaks in the light. It eventually allowed moisture to occur in the light causing a failure in the lights. It has been a known issue on the F150 Lightning vehicle with the rear lamp bar and based on many other vehicle owner accounts it is also an issue with the rear taillights.

This safety recall was issued in August of 2024 on an engine valve, this is the only vehicle I have. The engine valve has the potential to crack increasing my risk of crashing, I have a 3 year old. I called Tomball Ford last year in November and was informed they would have the parts by January 2025. It is now May 2025 and no parts or correspondence for the dangerous matter. In fact another recall has been issued

- #11661097May 15, 2025SERVICE BRAKES
The parking brake has repeatedly engaged without action from the owner/operator. This seems to happen at random. The dash warning light does show upon occurrence. There is no known cause for, or understanding of, this malfunction. The Ford certified dealer could not confirm as it did not occur under their supervision when serviced. Fortunately, occurrences thus far have been while the vehicle is not in motion. However, this is extremely dangerous and could cause severe injury or death. Imagine the horrific accident if the parking brake were to engage while traveling with a family of four, going 65mph down the highway. Innocent lives would be lost. Children's lives. It's heartbreaking and traumatizing to think about. This is a massive safety risk and obviously very concerning. Furthermore, the rear brake pads and rotors have already been replaced (at 4k miles) due to overheating, warping, and uneven wear. At 4k miles!? Are these issues related? Possibly. Will they be repetitive? Possibly. Nevertheless, it's too significant of a risk. It's one that no one would want to take. Something needs to be done. Thank you. Ford offers a buyback program, but has denied the request. Ford has provided ineffective and unacceptable responses to a filed Better Business Bureau complaint. Ford has not accepted responsibility for the issue. The severity is not being taken seriously.

The headlight module failed in the middle of driving at night and caused me to pull over and get the vehicle towed. Took to the dealership and apparently it’s been an issue with these trucks and the headlight module fails and then burns out both headlights. There is no recall and is not covered by my factory warranty.

The running lights went out on the front passenger side. These are LED lights and should last longer than 60k miles. These can’t be repaired and have to be replaced. I got quoted $1,650 without labor for one.

- #11660966May 14, 2025ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, UNKNOWN OR OTHER
I drove approx 50 miles. Parked, Return to truck approx 45 mins later and the battery was DEAD. No turn over at all.Called AAA purchased new battery which was installed roadside in a parking lot. Upon starting the engine I noticed the ac was not blowing and hot air only if it did. I took vehicle to Mac Maik Ford. I was told the ac was in need of new parts and $FREON$ ? The repair was approx $4500.00 then add freon fee. I declined. Returned to Gullo Ford where I purchased truck and I was told it would take up to a week or more to leave it for just evaluation. They offered a rental vehicle for $65/ day .i was not going to pay$800 In rental fees to wait for an evaluation not even repair?! I returned home in the hot truck and stopped by the private garage in neighborhood.RUSTYS.They kept it half a day&said upon investigation numerous complaints were filed for the same situation.Rusty stated he would order the part and be completed in abt 3-4 days max>.OK, order parts. I get in the truck after the small independent garage guys went over it in 1/2 a day & THE AC WAS WORKING.I again refused to leave it at Rustys garage. He said he would order the part because site stated numerous ppl had the same thing I had had.battery dying and a/c malfunction combo. IF I HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF THE RECALL POTENTIAL OF THE TYPE OF REOCCURRING INCIDENT ON VEHICLES LIKE MINE I WOULD HAVE BEEN RIPPED OFF FOR THOUSANDS!! Rusty ordered the part but kept part b/c my ac is good but tapping the battery? 3 days after his diagnosis being different from the dealers my a/c is still witking..However, The potential remains high for ac failure at this point to reoccur. There is obviously a malfunction in the a/c that kills the battery. I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON WITH THIS ISSUE. This warrants a recall on whatever it is that drains the battery and kills the a/c function and lets the dealers profit! Please address & recall. Bust the dealers who want THOUSANDS TO FIX THIS TOO! Recall the ripoff...

The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V896000 (Power Train); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was contacted and inspected the vehicle. After inspecting the vehicle three times, it was determined the vehicle was not defective and determined no repair was needed. The contact stated that the recall notice did not state that an inspection was needed to determine if the axle half-shaft and hub assemblies would be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
