On 9/20/2026 all of the roof-rail (side-curtain) airbag inflators spontaneously ruptured and deployed with explosive force while the vehicle was stationary. The event was triggered solely by shutting the vehicle's driver’s side door hard. There was absolutely no collision, impact, or external force applied to the vehicle that would justify a normal airbag deployment. The inflator body split tearing through the interior headliner. This identical failure mechanism matches existing GM safety campaigns (such as NHTSA Campaign 21V504000) concerning roof-rail airbag inflators suffering from internal manufacturing corrosion and thermal cycling stress. My local Chevrolet/GMC dealership ran my 17-digit VIN and stated that my specific truck is currently omitted from the active recall batches. When the physical rupture was presented to them, the dealership refused to honor a remedy, improperly citing the vehicle's age and mileage. Because this structural manufacturing defect poses an extreme risk of severe injury or shrapnel deployment to occupants in an un-crashed vehicle, I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this VIN omission and compel General Motors to expand their recall parameters to cover this vehicle.

My 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 has only 61k miles on it. While driving at expressway speed I can feel a vibration, when at a stop and slowly accelerating it feels like driving on a rubble strip and then while going through the gears it has hard/harsh shifting! I have taken it to my local GM dealership in [XXX] and they are going to do a transmission flush and new fluid but I am worried that the problem may be worse than just bad fluid at this point, more like worn clutch plates, etc.? If this does not fix the problem my extended warranty end at 80k miles and I will be stuck with a truck that has a major transmission problem! No trans should go at 60k miles! Why isn't there a recall on the 1500 8 speed transmission for these chevy Trucks? I understand there are many Technical Service Bulletins issued by GM for the transmission issues but no recall. This should be looked into with all the complaints filed for their transmission issues! Hopefully GM will be forced to do the right thing and issue a recall. This vehicle was delivered new without a printed owners manual. There are multiple open recalls for other 2026 model year Chevrolet Silverados that were also delivered without printed owners manuals, however my VIN was incorrectly omitted from the recall population. I only became aware this week that my vehicle was incorrectly excluded from these campaigns.

On October 9, 2026, I was driving my 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 RST on a rural road at approximately 35–54 mph when the engine unexpectedly shut off without warning. There were no warning messages or indications of a problem before the engine stopped running. The instrument cluster remained illuminated, but the vehicle lost engine power and propulsion. I was able to bring the vehicle to a stop safely without an accident or injuries. However, the sudden loss of engine power while traveling at road speed created a serious safety concern. After the vehicle stopped, I attempted to restart the engine. The engine would crank normally but would not start. Diagnostic trouble code P129F was identified using a scan tool and was also displayed through the Chevrolet application. The vehicle is currently at an authorized Chevrolet dealership for diagnosis and repair. Based on the diagnostic code and reported symptoms, a failure of the fuel pump control module is suspected, although the dealership has not yet confirmed the cause. I am concerned that a sudden, unexpected engine shutdown could result in a collision, particularly if this failure occurs at highway speeds, in heavy traffic, or in a situation where a driver cannot safely move the vehicle off the roadway. I am requesting that NHTSA document this incident and evaluate whether a potential fuel pump control module defect presents a safety risk to owners of 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 vehicles.

- #11770297October 10, 2026SERVICE BRAKES
My brake rotors are damaged to the point where they have to be replaced at 36,000 miles this doesn’t sound right to me because I had the same truck in a 2018 and I had over 60,000 miles on it and the brakes were still like new. I was just trying to find out if they’re having a problem with their brake rotors. I never told anything with it and I know other people that tow with the same truck and they have twice as many miles and their brakes are still good.

On July 4, 2026 while driving with my family up a two lane state road headed to the lake cruising 55mph the engine blew and locked up with no warning, no check engine light or anything causing me to almost wreck and leaving me and my family stranded in a dangerous situation for a moment. I drive out of town just about everyday for work so my truck is set on cruise control most days through the week making multiple long distance trips a month so the mileage racked up fast for me causing me to go right over my warranty when this happened so I can’t get any help with it. Even knowing the issue right now with the 6.2 they will do nothing.

The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving, the vehicle failed to decelerate properly while the brake pedal was depressed. The brake pedal was firm. The ABS, Emergency Brakes, and Brake warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer where it was diagnosed and confirmed to have a transmission failure. The vehicle was repaired under warranty; however, while driving at approximately 50 MPH, the vehicle was shuddering, and while the transmission was shifting into a lower gear, the vehicle jolted. The same local dealer was contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 58,800.

- #11769860October 8, 2026BACK OVER PREVENTION: REARVIEW SYSTEM BRAKING, BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS, LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION
I own a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado LTZ Texas Edition with 51,000 miles, equipped with the factory multi-camera system and rear backup camera. The camera images are clear and all cameras function normally, but the forward/reverse guide/trajectory lines no longer appear. When the cameras are activated, a blue hourglass appears in the upper-left corner and the guide lines never load. This is a safety concern because the guide lines help the driver judge the vehicle's path and distance when backing up and maneuvering in tight areas. The loss of this feature reduces the functionality of the factory safety/parking camera system. I took the truck to an authorized GM dealer. They diagnosed a front camera issue and recommended replacing the front camera located under the hood, at a cost of approximately $1,000. I questioned why the camera should be replaced when the camera image itself is clear and functioning normally. The dealer identified DTC B1A68, Failure Code 0x76, and also provided a report showing numerous additional communication faults. The dealer said I should not be concerned about the other codes. Diagnostic codes reported: B1A68 (0x76), U0101, U0102, U0131, U0140, U0146, U0151, U0155, U0265, U0422, U160F, U1610, U1611. I am concerned that replacing the front camera may not correct the actual cause of the missing guide lines, particularly given the multiple communication faults. This could involve the camera system, software, calibration, CAN communication network, or another component. I am requesting that NHTSA document and investigate this complaint as a potential safety-related defect affecting the camera/guide-line system on 2022 Chevrolet Silverado vehicles. I believe the loss of the factory guide lines is a safety concern and could affect a driver's ability to safely judge the vehicle's path while reversing. the camera also doesn't detect cars or people now. my seat use to vibrate I have the dealer's diagnostic report available as supporting documentation.

2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with the 6.2L V8 (RPO L87), built November 2020. Mileage at failure: 11268. On XXX the check engine light came on with DTCs P0011 and P0016. The engine developed a rattle at startup and when lifting off the throttle around 40 mph. On XXX Fowler Chevrolet ([XXX]) isolated the abnormal engine noise to the crankshaft bearings. Cutting open the oil filter showed excessive bearing material. The dealer advised engine replacement before complete engine failure and quoted $12,561.66. This is the same failure described in recall 25V-274 (GM N252494000): crankshaft/connecting rod bearing failure in the L87 engine, which can cause loss of propulsion while driving. My VIN is not included in the recall because it was built before the XXX start of the recall build window. The engine is the same L87 and failed the same way. The vehicle has been maintained with regular oil changes and I have records. GM Customer Assistance case XXX was opened XXX. The vehicle is currently not safe to drive due to risk of engine seizure and loss of motive power. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I have the 6.2l motor and this motor is failing AGAIN. They did the pick test and I did not qualify for the recall. But my truck is making the same noise again before it blew. The Chevy dealership informed me that it was the valve train that was causing the motor to blow. But this is the second motor. How can the second motor have the same problem right? Well this motor is now about to blow and again the dealer said it’s the valve train. The noise is coming from the lifters and the variable valve train and the mechanics of the valve train are what is causing the to blow. This is a main reason why the motors are blowing even after the new oil was changed. I don’t know what’s to do with this truck because it is out of warranty and it is about to fail

A lifter failed and caused an injector to fail and a push rod to bend. The truck has misfires on two cylinders now. The AFM system is a large issue known for 2014 and newer 1500 trucks as mine is a 2015. The truck is in need of a motor rebuild or replacement and the dealer I took the truck to for the work quoted me over $9000 for the work to be completed. The engine has less then 125,000 miles on it.

2021 Silverado with 5.3 engine/8spd transmission/38,000 miles just outside of the 5-year powertrain warranty *No current recalls under this VIN as of 10/07/2026* Undiagnosed issues with symptoms similar to transmission or rear end slippage, torque converter or clutch pack problems. No warning lights or messages have appeared 1) Vehicle seems to hunt for proper gearing between 30-40 mph (3rd to 4th gear) with light shuddering before shifting gears. Occurred 20+ times 2) Sudden jerk when taking off from dead stop. Feels like being lightly bumped from behind then drives normally. Occurred 4 times 3) Only noticed when towing appx 6,000lb trailer descending down a hill - A one-time loud clunk when easing off throttle and coasting downhill. The sound is similar to hitting a metal desk with a fist. Occurred 7 times. Spoke with local Chevrolet dealer who informed me the powertrain warranty has recently expired, and no repair cost would be covered. Recommended dealer service would be to replace the transmission fluid and filter with Mobil 1, potentially reprogram the transmission, and replace the torque converter. All on a vehicle with only 38,000 miles

- #11769507October 7, 2026TIRES:SIDEWALL
Severe cracks down the sidewall of the tire & into the tread which is obviously a manufacturing flaw. After seeing a recent like issue of this same issue w/ the same brand tire I feel a replacement of all tires on the vehicle should be replaced before another issue occurs to another & causes a major accident. Tire size 275/60R20 took to the Chevrolet dealer and they quickly said it was not a recall item. I have since replaced the tire at my cost & have kept the original tire for inspection. Was told it was a good thing I replaced the tire as it would have failed soon.

These 6.2 Liters are failing and there is no fix. GM claims my motor passed a test but not knowing if and when it will break down leaving me stranded or worse in a horrible accident with engine failure is not safe. My lane assist is now out as well, the version is old and GM wants to charge to update it (only 60k miles on the truck). Top it off with this new recall my oil changes are over $150 for supercar oil. The deprecation of this truck with know recalls is another issue. I can't get rid of this because it isn't worth much anymore. DO NOT BUY GM OR CHEVY!! So sad to see them fail their customer like this.
