Hi - My driver's side door keeps unlocking and registering as if I am opening it as I am driving. I've attempted to have this fixed (stopped unlocking for about a year) but it has started back up within the last month. It's now come to my attention that upon searching for safety recalls on my car, that there was a recall back in 2012 (12V338000) on my car for what sounds exactly like the issue I've been having. I have an appointment to get Driveshaft Corrosion (20V-770) recall fixed on 11/6, but they do not have the other safety recall associated with my VIN number. Therefore, they are refusing to look at it without payment. I would hate to have to pay for a temporary fix again and I am extremely concerned that I cannot drive my vehicle without it unlocking and am really hoping this reaches the right audience. I am looking for assistance in having this resolved. Thank you!

It is Acura ILX 2021. The current mileage is 17,480. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? *Driveshaft/suspension is broken after inspection. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? *Intense shaking coming from underneath the vehicle. Worn out u-joints, couplers or carrier bearings can cause the driveshaft to vibrate and make noise when passing over bumps and potholes. If not fixed, it can lead to further damage to other drivetrain components. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? * Not sure for 2021 model. However, there is a recall history for model 2016-2019 Acura ILX. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? * The vehicle was inspected and waiting for remedy. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? * No there is no sign of warning. Due to extreme noise, the vehicle was inspected.

The contact owns a 2020 Acura ILX. The contact stated that while stopped and preparing to make a left turn, a 2002 Subaru ran a red light and crashed into the driver's side panel. The driver's side seat belt snapped on impact. There were no warning lights illuminated. The air bag was deployed. There were no reported injuries. There was no fire. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, who referred her to a collision center. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was towed to a collision center but was unable to obtain and replace the seat belts. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 2,353.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the seat belt assembly. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact owns a 2015 Acura ILX. The contact stated while driving 30-40 MPH, the vehicle started pulling to the right. The contact was able to steer the vehicle and continued driving. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the steering wheel abruptly jerked and violently turned to the left, causing the vehicle to pull to the left. The contact stated that he was unable to turn the steering wheel to the right. The contact stated that he depressed the brake pedal and came to a complete stop. The contact was then able to pull to the side of the road. The contact stated that the failure recurred several times while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the steering column needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to an unknown recall. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 139,000.

I, [XXX] , entered into a car agreement with Carwise which assisted me with searching for cars that best suited my family and I. May of 2022 we finally found the car that we thought was a great fit for the family. A representative from Carwise showed up at my home with the Acura ILX A-Spec along with the proper documents to be signed so I could be ready to take the vehicle. I [XXX] along with the Carwise representative stood behind the vehicle to go through each document that needed to be signed, We were going through it and along that process, I was never informed the price of the vehicle was no longer the price that I was told initially before the car was brought. I was told the vehicle was around $32,000, I was told the car was new and had no issues, and I was told I didn’t have to put in a down payment which at first was true, no payment was given. Upon further research and investigation, I later found out that the down payment was added as an extra. When ready to complete the contract, the representative that was supposed to go through the contract thoroughly with me did not do so which resulted in me signing away to what turned out to be bait and switch. I contacted the lender to see if the car was repossessed and they confirmed they hired MC Trac towing company to pick up my vehicle. I had spoken to them, and they stated the car was repossessed at my home, which was inaccurate information. I have been suffering mentally due to so many issues arising with the lenders, the car dealerships, and everyone involved. I’ve been sent back and forth, and no issue seems to be resolved and the Acura is my only form of transportation. I am seeking to have my vehicle returned in the perfect state that it was, along with all payments that were made since its first purchase, along with all hardships and extra payments that were made through all processes. The contact owns a 2019 Acura ILX. The contact stated while driving 20 MPH and depressing the brake pedal, the brake pedal went to the floorboard, but the vehicle failed to respond. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that brake pedal was pumped until the vehicle responded. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on two different occasions; however, the failure could not be duplicated. The contact stated that the failure recurred several times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the failure recurred while the dealer was test-driving the vehicle; however, the cause of the failure could not be determined. The contact stated that the dealer added brake fluid; however, the failure recurred 30 minutes later while driving. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 19,000.

Takata front passenger side ceiling airbag and front passenger seat airbag deployed without impact or collision after I left my garage and drove less than a quarter of a mile. There was an excessive heat warning and higher-than-average humidity. I suffered auditory injuries due to the high-decibel explosion the Takata airbags produced in the sealed cab of my car. My insurance has ruled my vehicle a total loss (with no fault of my own). Still, I have yet to accept the insurance's total loss offer, and I wanted to provide an opportunity for further inspection of the Takata airbag system to help this ongoing crisis further. Two Acura representatives called after I registered my airbag deployment on Honda's website. The first representative treated me, "I can have you arrested." during our phone conversation on July 12th, 2023. The second representative requested that I turn over my vehicle to Acura "So we can do our internal investigation." I declined, and his rebuttal was to take my car from the bank since there was a lien on it. I replied that my vehicle has no lien; it's paid in full. My insurance company initially told me they were going to inspect the vehicle. However, I was offered a total loss settlement within 48 hours. I've requested an inspection report multiple times for the cause, but my insurance company has not provided me with anything other than a total loss, with "no fault of my own report." There were no warning lamps, messages, or anything to alert me before the faulty deployment of the airbags. No passenger was seated in the passenger seat at the time of this incident.

On July 20th, 2023, while driving home from work, my vehicle without warning made a sudden jerk and all the warning light s came on the dash board. The car had reduced power and acceleration and an automated voice from the dash board warned to pull over the car. I pulled over into a garage who performed a diagnostic. They stated the error codes indicated MPI failure (IMA power moter invertor). They also stated there was a Service Bulletin 20-021 for tis issue with this car (same year /model). When a VIN check was performed, the vehicle did not come up on this TSB. I had the car towed to an acura dealer and they ran a diagnostic. They confirmed error codes P1440,P15A5,P0AE1,P0DA8 - all codes listed in the service builletin 20-021 for this vehicle year, make and model. I have no doubt, as the data indicates, this failure/incident was caused by the same issues which are covered under TSB 20-021 and this VIN should be included.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? - On multiple occasions (at least 6) I was unable to slow down my car using the break, when breaking the pedal would go down but the car would not slow down. I had to re-engage the breaks to slow the car down. This has happened multiple time in different driving environments including when coming off a stop sign stop, leaving a parallel parking spot, exiting a highway exit at 45 miles an hr. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? - Being unable to stop the car could lead to me hitting other cars, being unable to stop, hitting a pedestrian, or worse. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? - No I took it to Sterling Mcall Acura in Houston Texas and was told it was fine but the issue persisted. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? it was looked at by sterling mcall acura with no issue found. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No warnings shown

The exterior paint around the front windshield of my daughters vehcle is peeling off. There is a recall on this problem but I was told my Vin# was not included in the recall. Acura stated since my vin is not listed there is nothing that can be done. Acura TSB #ONL6P811202020. NHTSA TSB #10182987. I can not understand why if they know there is a problem that all vehicles with the problem are not fix.

A)I stopped at the mailbox. I stopped at the top. Placed my car in park. Turned my car off. The car started rolling backwards. The car was in park and turned off. B)I do not know what failed or what happened. Yes, the my vehicle is available for inspection. I incurred road rash and injuries related to this incident. I’m in pain. C)This situation could have gone terribly wrong there were cars around and I live in a residential community so kids could have been out playing and could have gotten hurt. D)It is going today. E)It is going today. No there was no warning signs or anything that alerted me that my vehicle was in the state of distress. It just rolled back.

There were two different times my Acura 2013 ILX was involved in two different accidents and the airbags didn’t deploy. 1. Back on 4/2018 brakes didn’t respond properly, then ceased to another vehicle and airbags didn’t deployed. No major injuries, but high bills. 2. January 2019, my husband was rear ended by an Audi, was sent to the opposite side of the street, car was total loss, airbags never deployed. He suffered MAJOR injuries, couldn’t walk for two months, used a walker after that for over two years, suffered dislocated discs, neck and his whole body is not the same anymore. Can’t tell anymore how many procedures he has been through.

Electrical Failure. Safety was an issue with vehicle needing constant jumps. Problem was checked at dealer. My concern was continuously overlooked. Warning lamps didn't warn.
